10th March 2011: TVB City Visit For Pok Oi Charity Show 2011

Finally, my first time entering TVB in Hong Kong. This time, thanks to Sherman I have the chance to experience going to the city. The event tonight was for Pok Oi Charity Show recording. Basically I met with other Sherman fans at Tiu Keng Leung station and TVB provided a free shuttle bus service from there to Tseung Kwan O TVB city. One thing that I realise while waiting on the line to get on the bus was that 90% of the audience that were there for the event were elderly people. Most were like in their 50's. Seems like TVB is really catered to the 'si nai' group in Hong Kong. It really isn't greatly celebrated as it is among the younger generations in Malaysia. That's a fact. Most of the young people around were fans of singers.

So once we got to TVB city, the bus drove through the security gates that we always see in the series. And as the bus drove through I saw stacks and stacks of props stored all over the place. Mostly props for filming. And then we arrive at the main studio with the brightly coloured neon light '43' sign. And I wanted to like take pictures of it, but unfortunately the ruling in TVB is so strict that no pictures is allowed and also we were not allowed to get down of the bus and wander around. We were stuck in the bus for 5-10 minutes before we were allowed to get down when the studio doors open. Once we got in the studio (biggest one in TVB which turned out to be not that big in actual) and then the TVB worker started asking us to fill in the seats at the right first. She told us that we didn't need to follow our ticket seats. Its free seating. So we managed to grab the 4^th row. And TVB was really strict with regulations. No phone, no camera. Once a camera is held up they will start to warn you and stop you. Phew….

So finally they started to start the recording. And it first started with Anthony Wong, Choi Fung Wah and Chi Lam coming out to do some recording. And Wow!! I was like can't take my eyes off Chor Gor Gor (ChiLam) hahahah! Because he was so good looking and has the height! Although he is a little skinny though. Then they started recording some dialogues for the program and Chilam NGed a few times, once for talking to fast and one for being out of center point. Then after that, all the other artiste and MC came out to take pictures with the media before they start recording part by part. The MCs for the night that we saw was Astrid Chan and Patrick Tang. They came out and talked a little to the audience and thanked us for coming. Other artiste that were there that night included Hotcha, Sherman Chung, Alfred Hui, C All Star, Stephanie Cheng, Alvina Kong, Hanjin Tan and Kiki Sheung.

Kiki Sheung was really pretty in person. She did not look fat at all in person. And probably because she lost so much weight recently too. She looked really pretty. Besides that, she sang really well too together with Hanjin. Hanjin is also a really talented guy. Nice voice, bubbly personality and talented. And I also found out recently that he's from Singapore! Hahaha. Besides that, other memorable incident from the night was that Stephanie had to sing her song twice. Hahaha. I didn't know why, because her first try was actually good. She sang perfectly. Probably it's the camera angle was not taken perfectly. Another thing I learned from studio recording that night was that what we watch on television is totally different from the way they record it.

In the television, we will watch everything flow really well. Beginning to end with all the charity donors officiating the ceremony, playing games, singing etc. However, the process of recording is split into many different parts. When we went there to watch that night, we did not see them play any games, no presentation of cheques etc. They were only filming the part for singers singing because that's the part that needs audience face to be in it, applause and fans taking up banners. That's why that part is open to audience. So all the parts other than singing were pre-recorded with an empty audience. Hahahaa. The laughter and clappings that you may hear when that part is broadcasted into TV are actually fake sounds combined into the recording from editing work! So during the recording process, what we saw were mostly each singer going up on stage one by one to record their singing parts. Not much feeling of watching a full show eh? Hehehee. After the show, Astrid and Patrick thanked us for coming and said 'sanfu sai la' which really reaffirms our purpose to be here. LOL.

Then after that again when we leave, we were asked to leave in sequence and straight into the shuttle bus. Again no camera allowed in grounds of the city. So this whole post has no pictures in it! Only me personal experience. And its a new experience and I would say not truly as what I expected it to be. No wonder fans had to wait outside the road in the cold every time outside of the city to wait for their idols. Swt.

P.S. I did went to TVB toilet. HAHAHAHHAHA

So since I just started study break for a week, so I attended an event over at Kowloon Bay. And hell yeah, Kowloon Bay is just far from where I live! But well, it was well worth it. The main reason for me to go to the event is because of Sherman! One of the things that I have to do in my list while I'm here is to meet Sherman. If you all remember from my last event over in Malaysia with Sherman, I did told her I'm coming over to Hong Kong to study and also I will join in her functions while I'm here. And so, I did!

The event that day was an event on Hong Kong Law or something. I wasn't sure because that was not the main reason I'm there. Hahaha...besides Sherman, there were other artistes in the event too. They are Andy Hui, Chow Pakho, Ella Koon, Hotcha, Charcoal, Stephanie Cheng and some newcomers. So I met up with Sherman fanclub fans yesterday afternoon at the MTR and I was running kinda late actually. So we ran from the MTR station to Megabox!! And the weather that day being humid and hot did not help at all! hahahaa...when I reached Megabox, I was sweating!

The event already started when we reached with Andy Hui there. So I took some shots. Not my first time meeting Andy. So, no surprises. Hahaha. Soon after Andy Hui, Sherman appeared. Wow, we were just in time. Haaha. She then sang her latest song 'Take It'. And so we did some screaming and whistle blowing and photo taking of Sherman. Right after that, the fans dispersed. Well, this was not normal for what I usually do in Malaysia. We usually wait for the whole event to end before we do the "side quests". Hahahaha. But because there are so many artiste in the event and also they all live in Hong Kong and have other jobs to do, they actually leave seperately before the event ends. Thus, the fans dispersed for the parking lot. And they asked me along to follow so we all ran through the complex to the carpark.

We were rushing like mad but actually there was no need for such a rush. Sherman haven't come down. She' s probably doing interview still. So while waiting, I chatted a little with some Sherman fans. And they were all kinda nice people. They were really welcoming especially when they knew I was from Malaysia and studying at HKU. So we waited and then Andy Hui passed by and left in his car. I didn't approach him. Just watched.

We waited on for Sherman and she finally came out. Together with Pakho and Ella. So Sherman fans shoved me forward and told Sherman, "This is your Malaysia fan." At first Sherman looked at me and was kinda blur and didn't really get what was said. But then suddenly, recognisition lit her eyes. And she blurted, "Eh!! Ngo gei dak nei ah!!" (Hey, I recognise you!) Then she was shoved to walk forward into her car and there were many other fans blocking so I couldn't really approach her. But I saw her in the car. Then when the door closes and all and the car started to move pass me, Sherman spotted me and was trying to say some stuff to me but obviously I can't hear. Haha..she did some gestures and I got what she meant(at least I believe I d0). She was signalling me, "Come to my other functions. I'll see you next time." And so I signalled with a nod and pointed with my finger to the ground meaning that "Yes, I will. I'm staying in Hong Kong for awhile now." Then Sherman nodded and waved a bye!

Well, after that, it felt really good. Because, she remembered me! I wasn't expecting anything because I'm just being rational and realistic. But being actually remembered, felt special. So, thank you Sherman for that! After Sherman left, we waited for awhile. Then I saw few male singers and seems like its Charcoal. But I don't know them so I didn't really bothered. I also saw Ella really closeby. And she's really skinny! I wanted to ask her for a photo but there were so many fans around so I didn't take the effort.

After awhile, I saw Stephanie Cheng coming out from the lift. Then her fans surrounded her and she filmed a video for them. Then after that I called out to Stephanie. I said in English, "Hi Stephanie! I'm from Malaysia!" Then she heard me and turned to me and said, "Sorry?"...and I repeated, "I'm from Malaysia!" And she was like, "Owh!". Then I asked her, "Can I take a picture with you?" And she said, "yeah sure!" Then she turned to her PA/Manager and told her, "ngo tung kui ying sin la. yan wai kui haai san gaa. kei ta hai sik geh" (let me take pictures with her first. because the rest are regular fans). Then she took a picture with me. And because I couldn't find anyone to help me take a picture, Stephanie then said, "nei sui em sui yiu yan pong sau mou?" (do you need help?) and I said yeah. Then she asked her PA/Manager to help us take a picture. And her PA/Manager was really nice. Using effort to take picture for us. And even took 2 shots just incase it does not look good. And yeah, I liked Stephanie more too after this encounter. She's really nice. After that I shook her hand and said, "nice to meet you!"(which I felt weird after that for saying this HAHA). And she replied, "nice to meet you." Then she got shoved away too and said Bye to all of us.

Well, that was practically how it went for the event. After that, I had some snacks with Sherman fans. And I'm happy to know them because they were all kinda nice people and friendly. Looking forward to meet them for another event again soon! And of course, to meet Sherman again too!

Charlene Choi at Harbour City Tsim Sha Tsui: 29th January 2011

Procrastination. HAHA. But well, here is the post on Charlene. This is not exactly my first time meeting Charlene, but this is my first encounter with her in closer distance. I've always wanted to see Charlene because first, I kinda like her as an artiste. And also because I think she's one of the artiste with a rounder shaped face which I think is quite similar to mine. Haha...so I've got to see her and see how she looks in person and also to motivate me to go on diet!

And this time, again my mum is with me. LOL. My mum came over to Hong Kong and coincidentally Ah Sa was at this mall event in Tsim Sha Tsui. So okay! The event is a chocolate event and Ah Sa is the chocolate ambassador. This is my first time attending a mall event in Hong Kong and I realise the difference in going to an event in Malaysia with one in Hong Kong. The crowd was obviously smaller than Malaysia. If Charlene comes to Malaysia, I believe the crowd would have been double or even triple.

And there's less screaming and also the event was way shorter. The event only lasted for around 15 to 20 minutes. However, the interviews with TV stations such as TVB, Phoenix, Cable TV, TVB8 bla bla bla....lasted for like an hour!! So most of the time, me and my mum was standing there with some other fans just looking at Charlene doing interview. In Malaysia, they usually don't do any interviews or do it in a function room. That's one of the main difference for an event in Hong Kong.

So back to how Charlene looked. Well, I would say she looked real skinny in person! Her face wasn't round at all...HAHAHA...its kinda bony. However, I was not really fond of her "chocolate" hairstyle that day and also her dress. It looked kinda bulky. After everything was done, Charlene wasnted to leave for her car, however there was a huge crowd rushing towards her. And that was when I saw the security guard pushing her from her back and also grabbing the back of her neck and push her forward until she entered her car. And that was when I thought to myself, "Wow! Hou San fu ah, being an artiste!!" It must have felt like chaos and blur for her with all those people crowding and screaming around. Well, trade off for fame. Hehe.

Happy Lunar New Year 2011!

Seems like ages since I actually updated on anything. Many things happened since I last update. And it did cross my mind whether to continue on this blog as I felt like I was so busy to even do anything for the past few months. Well, the main reason is because I'm finally living in Hong Kong now for university. I was always out that I don't even have time to go online for updates on TVB and Cantopop etc.

However, after thinking, I decided that I will not desert my blog. Hahaha...I have too much relationshop and memories with it. It contains and preserves parts of my memories that I believe years later when I read them back, it will mean a lot to me. Also, I still do love HK and Cantopop alot. What more? I'm actually living in HK now! Which makes it much more meaningful to blog.

Well, so far in the 1 month I've been in HK, I've been to 2 events. First is the JSG Music Awards 2010 and also I met Charlene Choi last week in Tsim Sha Tsui. I've decided I'll skip on updates for JSG and update on Charlene instead. Hehehe. So stay tuned!

And of course, A HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR 2011!!!!!! MAY ALL OF YOU HAVE GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND A SMOOTH YEAR AHEAD!! GONG XI FA CAI!

22nd & 25th November 2010: Joey Yung Number 6 Concert Live in Hong Kong Colliseum

How many of my ‘first time’ was given to Joey?? Well, for sure my ‘first time’ watching a Hong Kong Coliseum concert was given to her. This time around, I watched 2 shows out of 12! Yeah, 12 shows in total. I was trying to plan my trip to be able to watch the final show but who would have thought Joey to add shows from November all the way to December 4th. So, too bad I couldn’t make it for the last show because staying in Hong Kong for around 10 days will empty my already not-so-full pockets! Hahaha…which also meant that I miss the pyjamas party with Joey on the 5th! However, having the opportunity to watch Number 6 Concert live in Hong Kong was enough to compensate everything. Besides, the final show will be on DVD so I could just imagine myself watching the last show at home on DVD..haha! For this post, I will not elaborate on what the whole concert was about as that could be seen on the news reports and DVD later on or even Youtube now. Instead, I will write on my personal experience, special occurrence and my feelings from watching the concert.

This time around, although watching a similar concert on two different occasions, however the feelings from the two shows were different. I’m not sure if reports of it were out, however Joey started losing her voice, well not really losing, but her voice started becoming hoarse from 22nd November show onwards. And right…my first night was on the 22nd. Joey started the concert with the ‘escape’ 45 degree dance as reminiscence from her previous Starlight concert with a modified dance choreography and the exact opposite costume color: Black (as opposed to Starlight’s white). However, when she opened her voice, I was actually surprised because of the hoarseness. I notice the extra effort she needed to sing the song and also the off-key singing she had throughout the song. Similarly for the next song ‘on the treadmill’, she went off-key on several occasions.

After hitting off with two powerful fast tracks, she settled down greeting the audience and sang to some ballads (which rundowns slightly defer every night). Even while talking, I noticed the hoarseness in her voice. As I was sitting with Malaysian fans, with Korean fans behind and Singapore fans beside, most of what we shared were, “Joey’s voice has become hoarse tonight!” Second part of Joey’s concert then showed the “joyful, playful and happy” side of Joey with a lot of colors as she sang funky songs of hers. Her ‘carousel’ dress was one daring attempt as not anyone could carry the dress, but Joey managed to carry it well.

During this part of the concert, suddenly we were interrupted by someone. And if I’m not mistaken it was Joey’s fan club leader Pui. I was wondering what did she want as she was asking some of the fans for something. And I got to know that she was asking for some lozenges. She said that Joey wants some lozenges. A certain brand if not mistaken, from the Macau leader as I think he usually carries them with him. Some fans just took out lozenges they had with them and passed to her because the Macau leader was seated quite far away so he didn’t catch what they requested. Witnessing that happen at that time, I felt bad for Joey who was all out performing and singing her best up stage in a happy and cheery mood. However, we all know inside, she’s feeling frustrated with her hoarse voice tonight. However, the incident made me realize and experience for myself, the trust and bond Joey has with her fans which is something to be cherished and preserved.

It may be the lozenges she had, her positive thinking or simply her voice ‘opened’ with more singing. Her voice condition improved with every following song she sang. This time around, Joey did a really sexy, nose bleeding ‘snake’ dance. ‘Mad About You’ in Starlight is child’s play compared to this. I’m not sure how many could accept the sexiness this time around. However for me, its all stage performance and art. Haha…how could I take an arts degree if I can’t accept sexy dances??

Watching a concert in Hong Kong Coliseum is good in the sense that the stage is versatile and the sound system is good. However, being my first time watching a four sided stage concert, it can be quite bothering as Joey will not always face one side. She faces left, right, front, back. So some of the dance moves would have Joey’s back facing me. Having fan club seats, I was seated on the first row (which is 4th row in actual fact because first three rows are VIP seats) which makes it hard to actually see the whole stage design, unless I watch it on the LED screen. Next time around, I think I’m going to get some nights of the concert sitting on a cheaper ticket pricing zone in the upper deck to fully see the whole design and movement of Joey on stage (or any other singer.

The once belittled singer for not having any instumental talent could strip that recognition off as Joey rises up on stage with a guitar to surprise her audience.

The ‘hei fan’(response) from the audience on 22nd night was quite good for a Monday night. In fact, the audience was in a better mood than even Joey herself. Joey’s mood that night was obviously not very good (most probably because of her voice). We were very high that night standing while Joey sang fast songs and sang along to her ballads. One of the best parts of the concert besides the B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L costumes is Joey’s little surprise. During the first or rather ‘fake’ encore, Joey reemerge on stage singing the concert themesong ‘Airport’ with guitar in hand, which made me scream and cheered. Because fans know how bad a guitar player Joey is. To see her strumming and rocking herself to the song was not only impressive but also touching as we know how determined and hard she must’ve work to finally be able to play the guitar. We all should learn from Joey’s always improving spirit.

Another thing good about HK Coliseum is that we could bring in our DSLR cameras and take pictures to our heart’s content. Which lead me to curse myself later on. Why? Because I took sooooooo many pictures that night that finally when we went out during the handshake session and Joey was right infront of me for like 5-10 minutes I couldn’t grab any photos!! Why?? My memory card was full!!! Joey was looking for a ‘handsome male fan’ wearing her concert t-shirt and she picked the fan beside me….which actually turned out to be a female. But Joey didn’t realize it! HAHAHA….I heard her friend told her in Mandarin, ‘she mistook you as a male!’ On 22nd night, I managed to shake Joey’s hand. Joey actually missed my hand, but I shouted out “Joey!!!” and she walked back a step to shake my hand! Hahaha..thanks Joey!! However, because of sitting position, on 25th night, I didn’t manage to shake Joey’s hand because the crowd in front of me was too big. But that night, I made sure my memory card isn’t full. So I manage to get more good pictures of Joey.

The concert felt as if it ended very fast on 22nd night. To the point I felt, what?? Its ending already? So little songs? However on 25th night, the concert felt like it was way longer. In actual fact, Joey sang around the same number of songs in both nights but one just felt longer than the other. On 25th night, Joey’s voice was only very slightly hoarse in the opening. Her voice was back to the usual power and crispy clear especially towards the end that I didn’t want her to stop singing! However, the atmosphere was not as ‘high’ on 25th night. The reason?? Because we were stopped from standing up during fast songs!! The audience behind us scolded us for standing up and asked us to sit. Come on, don’t get front seat tickets if you don’t plan to stand during fast songs! Joey then said, “Today’s audience is very gentle. They stand during ballads, but sit during fast songs.” Joey’s mood was very much better on the 25th. She talked more and joked more that night. She said ‘stop worrying about hoarseness. Just sing to my heart’s contents. The hoarseness will then go away.’ Love Joey’s positive attitude to the max!

After concert, we also waited for Joey behind the HK Coliseum. I used to think all singers do this. But then I realize, not all singers actually do this. Every night and I mean every single night, Joey will come out and greet her waiting fans and sign autographs for them. On the first night, I didn’t know Joey will only sign one per person each night, so I passed two to her. Well, she looked at the two things I passed to her: A Starlight DVD booklet and Airport EP version 2. She then picked the EP to sign. And unfortunately, while she passed it back to me, she smeared the ink!!! Arrgghh!! My EP is destroyed!!

However the other fans consoled me this way, “well, having a smeared autograph by Joey is a memory to keep.” LOL, well quite true eh? Haha…However, I think the 25th night waiting was even a better memory. This night, because I was with my mum, so I could sign two things. So I passed the Starlight DVD and also another documentary album which is in a form of a book for Joey to sign. And this time, another really funny memory…….when I passed her the book, I passed it to her upside down. So, she just signed on it and the outcome is….an upside down autograph. Argghhh!!! Again!? Hahaha…Luckily Starlight DVD was signed okay..but the ink was light. Hope it doesn’t fade away! Well, however it turned out to be, it was good memory anyway. Joey was way more cheery on the 25th than she was on the 22nd as she was seen jumping around like a little kid before entering her car.

Besides that, I wanted to give some encouraging words to Joey before I leave. However, I was interrupted by some guy behind me which voice I could recognize. He once asked Joey for a photo while Joey was rushing up the road into her car and Joey denied his request. After that, he posted a video of it on Youtube spreading words on how arrogant Joey is for rejecting him bla bla bla….If I could recognize the voice, I’m sure Joey could too, because Joey herself said she did watch the video on Youtube. And this time, he requested Joey this way, “Cho Yee, ho em ho yi lo zhu di seung tong nei ying yat zheung hap jiu mou?” (Joey can I take a picture with you while holding this picture?) I’m not sure what picture he meant but I think it’s a postcard of Joey. Joey then moved on signing stuffs for the person beside me while she slightly shook her head and said softly in Cantonese (Joey is surprisingly kinda soft spoken on a one to one talk with her fans…hard to imagine?? Haha…not at all, because I’m like that too. Loud in group, soft alone.), “Requesting for something that I could not fulfill.” The annoying guy behind me probably didn’t hear Joey’s respond because I heard him started smearing Joey to his friend again. He said also in Cantonese, “How arrogant…not even bothering to give me a respond.” I wonder if this guy is even a fan….why bother waiting and asking for something that you know could not be fulfilled? How do you expect Joey to take a picture with you with guards, crowd, grills blocking and parting us from her? And you should also know that this is not even a right time to ask for pictures with Joey. Seem like he’s just here to find fault with Joey.

Well, after Joey left in her super cool ‘JY’ number plate Toyota Alphard (Joey wind down the window and shouted a Bye and waved to us while her car was moving on the road..how cute), it was the end of the concert for me. It was a really good concert on its own. It will not be fair to compare it to Joey’s Starlight concert because they are two different products although made from the same core ingredients. Just like how it will be unfair to compare bread from cakes although they are similarly made from core ingredients of flour, egg, sugar and butter. For me, both Starlight and Number 6 has its own uniqueness and specialty. Saying Starlight is better than Number 6 is not true but saying Number 6 is better than Starlight is not true too. That’s the feeling I have. So my conclusion is, Number 6 is an all new product from Joey and one can be rest assured that a Joey Yung production is always a quality production.

P.S. I will be flying to Istanbul in a few days time. After that, I’ll be flying to Hong Kong again and will be able to meet Joey again for JSG awards if everything goes well! Pui, the fanclub leader was actually trying to reach Wing because somehow, backstage people knew that wing carried those lozenges with her as her own voice was bad.
So the lozenges did play a part in Joey's voice being better after that. "

14th November 2010: Jessica Hsuan Bizzy Body Ambassador Search Event

Wow sorry for the delays in updating this post!! I've been so busy recently and going to be busy until the end of the year actually. I've just came back to Penang from Hong Kong and Taipei only today (1st December) and feeling really tired from all the travelling and also watching Joey Yung's concert! It was an awesome concert by the way, well leave the concert to another post later on. Hahaha...

As for this event, since its so long ago, so I'll update as much as I can remember. LOLS. The event was actually a slimming challenge contest and so at first, I was standing by the side watching until me and my cousin eventually decided to go and sit at the seats which were actually meant for media. However, since we saw many normal audiences sitting there, so we decided to sit there too. After awhile sitting, suddenly we both saw Jessica walked pass and sat infront of us! We didn't even realise she was just right in front! Hahaha...my first impression of Jessica was...wow!! She's so skinny in person!

Then so I went forward and took some pictures and Jessica must've thought that I was from the media so she looked into my camera for me to take some pictures. Here's one picture where she looked right into my camera!

So after that, the slimming challenge continued and Jessica finally went up stage after awhile. The event was actually done in English and the organisers actually hired a cantonese speaking MC specially for Jessica's part...but come on, Jessica doesn't need one lar!! LOL...her English is many times better than many of the Malaysians around. Not to mention, her British accent. So here's a video for you guys to listen to Jessica's English.

During the interview, there are some details that I admire Jessica for. In my previous post on Linda Chung, I mentioned that Linda didn't do enough homework on the product that she was endorsing before coming for an event. However, Jessica was the exact opposite. Her preparation deserves to be mentioned. Jessica could actually name the treatment she received or provided by Bizzy Body and the name of the treatment is not something easy such as face firming treatment etc but something like microfiliating detoxifying treatment bla bla etc..... Jessica could name the treatment and even describe the procedures during the interview! That shows how prepared she is for the event and what a responsible spokesperson should do. Besides that, as shown in the following video, Jessica mentioned that she has a funny hobby of loving to wash cars...HAHAHA..how weird! I guess we could all bring our cars over to Jessica for washing! LOL

After the interview, Jessica got back to her seat and again I was sitted right behind her. And when I say right behind I really mean the next seat right behind her. My face was like 5 inches away from her hair...LOL!!! While she was sitting down there, I wanted to ask her if I could take a picture with her. And to do that, I would have to tap on her shoulders or to call out her name and ask for it. Jessica was watching the fashion show performed by the contestants at that time and I felt that it will really be awkward if I were to interupt her..not to mention rude too. So, in the end, I didn't approach her. I only watched from behind. LOLS. I kinda regret afterwards, but well, it really is inappropriate to interupt her halfway and also I'm afraid it'll attract more people to bother her by asking for a photograph.

After that, Jessica went up stage again to present the prizes to the winning contestants. Jessica may look plump in the pictures but in real life, she's really skinny!!!! Its just that she's not photogenic enough, thus, she looks plump in pictures. Similarly, Benice Liu faces the same problem too. After the event ended, Jessica's fans rushed over down stage and started asking for autographs etc and Jessica fulfilled a few of them while waving to her manager for help as the crowd became bigger. LOLS. She then left while being escorted to the lift by guards for a press conference.

My thoughts on Jessica is that she's really bubbly. She laughs a lot. While not considered being on the extremely friendly and down to earth artiste side, she's considered as quite a likable artiste. She seems to be really straight forward and more Westernised. Well, which may explain why she has a Western boyfriend. Haha. Well, I'll not write any longer as I'm starting to doze off..hahaha. Back from hiatus!

Hi all!!! I'm finally back from my long long one and a half month hiatus!! Not that I enjoyed it one bit! LOLS! Sleeping at 2am and waking up at 8am everyday having to open a book and study is not one bit enjoyable. And I'm not too happy with how I did with my papers either...sighs..but let's not think about the past and look forward to the future!!!!

So being back, let me update on some event happening this week for some of you guys to attend if you do not have any plans scheduled yet!

Event 1: Meet Jessica Hsuan for Bizzy Body Ambassador Search Challenge

I can't believe this is the second time I'm rewriting this post. I wrote about more than a thousand words on this post and when I click publish, the whole thing wasn't posted because of connection error!! OMG... and the auto-save function wasn't working for Blogger!! What happened?? Totally spoiled my mood to rewrite the whole thing again. And considering I'm not very free to re-write the whole thing again because I have to do my revision for my coming exams! HAIHZ...I'm so pissed off now! Don't think I have the inspiration now to re-write the whole thing.

So, I'll just put down brief comments on the event and put up pictures then.

First, Linda arrived late for the event. Like 8.50pm instead of 8pm because she was having her favourite chicken rice. And IMO, that was a really bad excuse to make, considering fans have been waiting from as early as 6pm and I believe many haven't had their dinner too. Can't her chicken rice wait till later since isn't having late dinner something accustomed to being an artiste?

Second point: I realise the lack of interaction Linda has with her fans. She just gave small waves and occasional smiles at her fans. Instead, she spent most of her time chatting with the two Bio-Essence executives who came with her.

Third: Linda didn't do enough homework! While chatting with the MC on the product, I was surprised that she didn't manage to get the name of the product she was promoting that night. Luckily the MC was there to fill in the flaw. She only knew the product was a sleeping mask.

Fourth: To those interested to know as to how Linda looked in person, well she's tall. Standing at 1.73 metres, she's taller than most of the guys around. However, I can't help commenting that she has a broad shoulder. Probably because she's brought up in Western countries. Being fed with healthy grown potatoes as carbohydrate instead of rice and also an abundance of Canadian cow milk as source of calcium. HAHAHA...Just look at other artiste brought up in Western countries such as Leaane Li, Bernice Liu and Sonija Kwok. LOL! Compare them to likes of Natalie Tong and Leila Tong!

My thoughts: In my opinion, Linda needs to improve on her 'people skills'. Being 'horoscopically' superstitious, probably because she's an Arian! LOLS...I'm an Arian too and we tend to act cool and not interact much with people that we are not familiar with. However, as an artiste and public figure, Linda should improve more on this. Little gestures such as shaking hands with random fans during an event or randomly flashing a smile and posing to a fan camera could change the situation big deal! Fans nowadays need more direct interaction and a feeling of existance by their idols. That's why Weibo is so popular nowadays.

And also, I'll probably be on hiatus from now till Mid November. Because this is a tough and crucial semester in uni for me and I have to start pumping on the revisions!! Gonna click 'publish' post now..hope it doesn't fail again!!!

12th September 2010: Sherman Chung Meet-and-Greet at B.B.Q Plaza, Times Square

Hong Kong artiste Sherman Chung which is one of my favourite singer came to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to promote her album 'One Mission' and book 'My Way' last week. She's also here to be the new brand ambassador of facial product 'Beautymate'. The title of my post stated BBQ Plaza, Times Square, however there is something which I should mention. If you refer to my previous post regarding this event, the promotional poster stated that there is an event happening at Cheras Leisure Mall on the 12th of September at 3pm. So, I did went to that event and after searching through the mall with no sign of Sherman anywhere, I finally turned to the information counter lady which told me that the event was yesterday. I was like....What!!!??? *sniff sniff* How am I going to get Sher's book then??

What a big error with the poster! I wonder how many fans who ended up like me? Luckily I had a final event to attend thanks to Mr Poh for his arrangement which is at BBQ Plaza, Times Square. The event was meant for One FM contest winner, however Mr Poh was really nice to special arrange for me and my mum to attend. Many thanks to him! So I ended up eating Roast Goose at Cheras and did a little shopping before leaving for Times Square. Again, arrived at Times Square early so again, more shopping..means spending more $$$....kidding. Haha.

I went to BBQ Plaza at around 5.10pm and nobody arrived yet except for Mr Poh and some One FM crew. So I met up with Mr Poh and he got us a seat first at the side table. So I just waited and prepare my camera gear. LOL. And I realise they are serving us food because there's the BBQ wok set up on all the tables ready. Since no one is around so test snaps of the table set ups!

While waiting, more fans arrived and at around 5.30pm the place was full already except my table which only had me and my mum...Nobody came our side, maybe because they thought I'm part of the crew. Our table was supposed to sit 6 pax. Hahaha. As someone who loves to snap pictures of people, of course I don't stay still and sit..instead I kept taking pictures around at the crowd and then I spotted Ah Peng! Hahaha...seems like I always see her around in events. So I went to say hi to her and also I told my mum I want to get Sherman's book and she then asked one of the organising crew and she sold us one copy. Then while continuing on snapping pictures suddenly I heard the MC saying "Welcome Chung Shu Man!!" and I was like Huh? And I saw Sherman just walking pass me to her seat. Hahaha..how blur was I?

Then everyone with cameras got up from their seats and started snapping pictures while Sherman greeted with a big warm Hello! Then she sat and listen to the MC saying the necessary stuff with chin resting on her hand, listening and smiling for photographs at times.

After that, the MC said that we can ask Sherman some questions....but he then added in cantonese, "I know you all are shy to ask, so let me ask for you all! Sherman, when will you come to Malaysia again?" And Sherman gave a laugh and replied, "If everything is on schedule, then I'll come again in October with a few colleagues for a music show." That's a really good news for me! And October is just around the corner! The MC then invited Sherman out to say a few words and Sherman said that she's really happy to see people coming today and also the previous events. She said she had a fear that there will be no one turning up for her functions! (aww...come on Sherman, give yourself more confidence ya!) Here's a video I took on part of her speech and also a rough idea on the surrounding atmosphere of the place.

After that, the MC asked Sherman out again to take pictures with fans and she happily stood back up and walked over for pictures. So fans went rushing up again. So I got in line too and it was starting to take lots of time that the MC said to the person in front of me that that's the last individual photo. However I still went forward to take...but I got a little problem. Because I'm using my DSLR and nobody knows how to use it. The MC did offer to help but when he said just click on the shutter right?? Then I know he didn't know how to use it..LOL. And my mum said she didn't know how to too! So, I went alright then, come let me 'ji bak'! Hahaha..Sherman saw me trying to 'ji bak' and she asked me 'Can or not?' (In English) which I later on wonder why she spoke in English with me? Hahaha...So I took the first shot...(I'll only reveal these shots on my own facebook since I try my best to keep myself mysterious on blogspot...hahaha) When I saw out first shot...I went...OMGosh in my heart...why do we both look like we are cam-whoring!!??? hahaha...so I said, another try! This time, the effect turned out better, although we both still look really silly. Hahaha...Then after that I took a shot for my mum. I told Sherman this is my mummy and Sherman looked at my mum and she gave a big and said, "Har! gaam nin heng geh!" (har!so young!?) LOL...I guess my mum must be happy to hear that. So I for my mum and then after that I asked Sherman, "Sherman, nei li chi yam jor gei doh pui kat zai bing ar?" (Sherman, this time how many glasses of Sour Lime juice (a malaysian drink) did you drank?) She didn't hear me clearly so she said, "me ah wa?" (pardon?) So I repeated and once she catched what I said she went very excited and went, "Waah!! Ngoh yam joor hou doh ah!! Cha em dor yat yat yaam leung pui!" (Waah! I drank a lot! Around 2 glasses per day!") I giggled and she asked me back, "Eh, nei dim ji gah leh?" (eh, how did you know?) And I replied, "ngoh yau gan nei geh mei bok ge mah!" (I follow your Sina Weibo) And she went, "hai ar! hou ar, post di ye seung lei la" (Really! Good, post some stuffs up la!). Here's a full length picture of Sherman on that night. I think her shoes is like 6 inch high? No wonder she looked so tall compared to the last time I saw her. Haha.

So after that, the MC said we could all eat our dinner now. Then I saw a waiter gave Sherman a menu. She flip through it and told the waiter she doesn't want anything. At that time I was thinking, artiste keeping fit? Haha...So we waited for our food and the waiter first poured soup to let the wok hot first. So while waiting we looked at Sherman while I occasionally. Then she started signing autographs for the fans seating the same table with her. And my mum told me aren't you getting yours signed? I said yeah, later on. Then after awhile Sherman suddenly left her table and went to the table over the other side and sat with the fans there. I'm actually a little surprised. She actually took the initiative to approach her fans. So I didn't know what happen around there since its two tables away so I can't hear anything. After a few minutes, she then went to the next table, which is Ah Ping's table. And so I manage to get some shots and heard Sherman saying something like she recognises Ah Ping (aiyo, Ah Ping..she must've chased Sherman a lot these many days..hahaha). She then took more pictures with them....while I took pictures of Sherman from my side. Hahaha...Here's one to share!

Then after that, Sherman walked over to my table. And I sat further in so she could sit beside. It feels a little awkward that she's just sitting beside me. Hahhaa..then my mum took my DSLR and forced herself to get a little tech savvy and took pictures for us. And the same funny thing happens to people who take pictures with DSLR when they are not used to it...they keep shooting without realising that there's already 5-6 shots taken. So we both posed until I move apart so she realise she took too many shots. Hahaha!

So the first thing Sherman asked me was, "nei hai em hai li tou ge yan ar?" (are you from here?) I didn't really get what she meant so I go closer and ask her "meh ah wa?" (pardon?) and she repeated. And I said, "em hai!" (nope) (hahahaha) Then she added, "gaam nei dim gai wui lei li dou geh? nei hai li dou zou meh gah?" (Then how did you end up here? You're here for?) And I said, "ngoh hai li dou duk shu geh" (I study here). Then she added, "eh..gaam nei em hai li dou yan? nei hai Malaysia yan?" (So you're not from here...you're Malaysian?" (gosh!! now I get what she actually meant! hahaha...she was asking if I'm from another country! Maybe I don't look Malaysian? haha..which is why she spoke english to me the first time? Maybe yes, maybe no?....'hou yu ar'!!)So I clarified myself with my broken half-past-six cantonese, "ngoh hai Malaysia yan..bat guo hai ling yat goh 'state' lei gah." (I'm Malaysian, but from another state) Then she went, "Oooowh!"

Then out of the blue the conversation just went on. I said I'm going to Hong Kong to study soon. (on exchange) Then my mum chipped in on it too. Then Sherman was like "zan hai gah!?" (really!?) and I said, "Hai ah, Hong Kong dai hok" (Yeah, University of Hong Kong). Then Sherman gave a really cute expression, she said "Wah!! Nei Yap jor ar? Nei hou lek ar!! Hong Kong dai hok hou nan yap gah!!"(Wah, you entered? You must be really smart! University of Hong Kong is really hard to enter!) And my reaction was like...*speechless*...HAHAHA. Then she added, "nei Mummy yat ding hou hoi sam ar nei gam lek" (your mum must be really happy you're so smart) then she turned to my mum and start telling her, "wah aunty nei yat ding hou hoi sam la....." (wah aunty, you should be really happy...) then she stopped and turned back to me and say, "nei mummy sik ting gwong tong wah mou?" And I just nodded...but Sherman ended up speaking in English to her. She said, "You must be happy." And my mum said some 'yuk mah' stuff around the lines of me being very sweet and her darling........which left me.... ........'gaam gai, gaam gai!!' And Sherman just smiled and giggle...HAHAHA. Then she asked my mum, "nei wooi tong kui hui Hong Kong? You're going to HK too?" And my mum said, "Yes. But not for long just to accompany her for holiday."

Then next topic, my mum said, "I love your hairstyle. It suits you very much." And Sherman replied excitedly, "This hairstyle? Yeah!! I like it too!" And my mum continued, "I looked at your older albums with the long hair...its not as nice as this short hair." And she said, "Yeah! The long hair...uurghh *shakes head*, I don't like it. Not beautiful. I love this short hair!" (I was laughing inside my heart...that's really cute and funny!) Then some food came and Sherman was like helping us arrange the food and plates in place. And because there's a hot pot infront with boiling soup so she told us, "siu sam ar" (be careful). OMGosh...she's too nice la!! Then I asked her, "nei em sek ar?" (you're not eating?) And she replied, "em la...ngoh tau sin yau sik jor di ye...em ngor" (I ate something earlier, don't feel hungry) After that, she wanted to stand up to leave and said, "man man sik la" (bon apetite). Then I stopped her! Not because I didn't want her to leave..LOLS..but because we talked until she forgot to sign my albums and book! Hahaha...I told her, "Eh, ho em ho yi pong ngoh chim ar!?" Then she was like, "Owh!!" and sat back down beside me. Then I first passed her 'A letter to myself album'. So I opened the inner side instead of the cover because I don't want to ruin the cover picture. Hahaha...So she said, "chim li dou ar?"(sign here?) And I said, "hou ar, chim lo dou la" (Ok, sign here). So she signed then surprisingly she asked me, "nei kiu meh meng ar?" (What's your name?). And a stunted me who didn't expect her to voluntarily ask for my name replied, "Oh, Ivy." And she said, "I-V-Y ar?" And I replied, "hai." (Yes). Then she wrote on top of the album, "Dearest Ivy". Gosh, I am so Gam Tung-ing...HAHAHA.

Then, I let her sign the Joey Yung Metro Radio Concert where she was one of the guest for Joey. She signed on the back cover but I actually wanted her to sign in the inner booklet so I said, "kei sat leh ngoh yiu nei chim li dou geh."(Actually I want you to sign here). And she didn't say much and signed on the booklet too. Hahaha. Then while she signed on it I asked her, "nei tai jor mei ar li goh?" (have you watched the concert?) And she said, "tai jor lu" (watched it!). And I said, "hou hou ah! Nei geh yin chut!" (your performance was good!) and she said, "Doh jeh!" (thank you!). Then I asked her while passing her book for her to sign, "nei sap yuet wooi tong ping goh lei ar?"(who are you coming with in October?). And she answered, "Erm...ngoh la, Wing Yee, William tong mai Hung Cheuk Lap."(Erm, myself, Vincy, William and Ken) And I said, "Wah! Ngo sei goh dou zhung yi wor!" (Wah, I like all four of you)....(man, do I sound too 'fa sam' here? hahaha..I just meant that they are all singers that I do listen to. Haha. I'm sure I'll enjoy the mini concert that way)

So after that Sherman really had to leave and attend to the other table. She gave us two vouchers of BBQ Plaza of RM50...hmm I wonder where are they now..I think my mum's having it. Hahaha. Then she said, "doh jeh nei dei gam yat lei ar". In my heart I was like, Thank YOU instead, Sherman!! So nice and humble!!

Then we started eating and very soon again we were asked to walk outside for a group photo. So again we walked outside and everyone started crowding around. Sherman took a picture with the BBQ Plaza manager first and after that Sherman was like, "lei ngoh dei pai hou goh wai sin"(come let's arrange ourselves) And Ah Ping asked her, "nei keh bin dou ar?" (where are you standing?) And she said, "ngoh keh li dou em yuk ge lar!" (I'm just going to stand here). HAHAHA. Then I didn't know where to stand because both left and right was already full. So I just stood infront of her and squatted down halfway. I didn't pass my camera for the group picture coz no one knows how to use it. Hahaha. Then Sherman said, "lam sik geh lei doh yat chi!" (blue one, another shot!). I was wondering why blue one another shot? Later on I realise, blue one is her Iphone. Hahaha. So after group photo, me and Ah Ping was still around. So I went up to Sherman and said, "Sherman, ho em ho yi pose har bei ngoh ying gei jiong siong post siong mei bok ar?" (Sherman, can you pose for some shots so I can post up to Weibo?) And she's like "Owh, Ok! li dou la" (Owh Ok, over here)*poses* then *giggles*. And then many other people took pictures too. So she ended up posing for everyone to take even after I stopped taking pictures. Hahaha. Here's one of the shot with a more cheery look:

While outside, Ah Ping also asked her why she's not eating. And she said she's not hungry and said she was sleeping in the car earlier. Hahaha. She said, "ngo geng ngo ying seung ying dak em leng ar!" (I'm afraid the pictures I take don't look good!) And I said, "mou ah! Hou leng ar!" (No, they're good!) And she smiled. Then the MC joined us and said that actually Sherman is very nice. He'd seen many singers and very few will take the first move to go over to every fans table to interact with fans. And I seriously agree with him. So we all nodded in agreement and said, "hai ah!!" (Yes!). And Sherman was like, "hai ar? *giggles* and *smiles* keeping humble. Then before we went back in, I told her, "Ha chi ngoh hui Hong Kong si, ngoh hui nei geh function la!" (next time when I'm in Hong Kong I'll go attend your functions yah!) And she replied, "Hou ar, hou ar!" (Okay!)

So we went back inside and me and my mum finally seriously ate. Hahaha...Sherman then said Bye and Thank You to all of us and said that she's leaving. So we all waved bye to her!! And enjoyed the food that was served to us. There was so much food provided that we were so full! The organisers were really generous and the event was simple and yet enjoyable and pleasant. A good job done there! Before we left, I thanked Mr Poh for arranging this. And once again here, Thanks to Mr Poh!! Appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing Sherman again in October!!

"Crowd, crowd, crowd.............."

The only thing I could use to describe this event is C-R-O-W-D. Just mention that Wang Lee Hom is coming to town and people go into a fan frenzy. To a very unexpected me who only arrived at the venue at 5.45pm (because of some other obligations) when the event starts at 6pm, I was shocked at the number of people there waiting for Lee Hom. This star could make people travel all the way and probably even from overseas (the couple standing beside me is from China) to just have a glimpse of his face. And when I say a glimpse, I really meant it. Having a stage with a 7,000 people crowd (fit for an Arena of Stars Concert), no projector screen, really, how clear could you see him eh? Well, of course, unless you get his album and bring it up for him to sign? Nah, that too, only lasted probably less than three seconds?

Well first, arriving there, I met up with Eunice and Wai Wai who were already there since like 12pm?? When I finally managed to meet them, I was already soaking wet. Not because of the rain, but because of the humidity and heat from such a crowded place! The word I said the most to make my way through was, "Sorry, excuse me.....sorry, excuse me....." Just so you understand what I meant, here's a picture of the crowd.

And besides crowding outside, people were also crowding around window panes inside the mall. Well, at least they had air conditioning! Hahaha....

After waiting for like 30 minutes, Lee Hom finally appeared on stage with sunglasses to frenzy screaming fans singing his new song, '你不知到的事'(Things you do not know). I enjoyed his singing though. His voice was clear and powerful. Good vocals! Here is a video taken by a fan:

After singing one song, the MC(Royce) said that its time for media photographs and also autograph session. And our reactions at the time was 'One song only???' There were fans shouting encore, however Royce said Lee Hom can't do an encore because of time constrain. He's rushing for a flight after this (Geez...can't imagine how pack his schedule is!).

So alright, autograph session time. However, things were so unorganised, we do not even know where should we be to que for autographs. And its not easy to find or even ask because with 7000 fans waiting for autographs, things were really chaotic. We soon realise that people from the fanclub and with special passes from organisers were given priority to get an autograph first. That's very different from the fanclub I'm in..LOL. In Joey's fanclub, we let the public get an autograph first. And when I say fanclub members get to get an autograph first, its not like 20-30 members. I think the number of 'Homaniacs' members present was like 100-200 of them! It took Lee Hom like 45minutes signing, but he was still signing for people from that group. So what we were doing?? We just walked around and some Astro personell approached us to do an interview for them. So I dragged Eunice with me...(because I'm not really a Lee Hom fan!!!)

So, with camera pointing at us, the interviewer started asking us questions...what time did we arrived? (12pm...what a lie!! Well, at least for me..haha)...What's your opinion on Lee Hom's new movie? (haha..not bad, very comedic.....gosh another lie...haven't even watched it)...what song of Lee Hom is your favourite?(Wei Yi...which is his song that I'm most familiar with and also a song from N years ago) to which the interviewer replied..is Wei Yi your only favourite? (of course not! there's still many I love!...LIE!) Can you sing us the song? (Erm..'~ni jiu shi wo de wei yi~'....oops forgot lyrics...pushes mic to Eunice..to which Eunice didn't sing...BIGGER OOPS!) Anything to say to Lee Hom? (Add Oil! Support You!)

After the interview I was laughing..gosh what a failure. I'm sure Astro would cut everything away and probably just put in the last part, Lee Hom Ga Yao! LOLS...maybe those who watches Astro AEC's Show Power programme or something like that can lookout for it..since I don't watch it. And this made me realise that the interviews we all watch of other artiste...they may be just the same...fakeness..LOLS. But having chasing stars for a few years now, I'm very clear of this fact. So to the fans that go all fan frenzy and believing whatever their idol says, this is a gentle advice. Don't sink too deep and end up getting dissapointed. Replying interviews is just a promotion and part of their job. It does not necessarily represent them or their beliefs. Have something more realistic that you could cling on to idolise. Eg. their talent. Do not choose good looks. That's the worst!

So after lingering around the place not knowing where to even start queing, suddenly there was action up stage. Lee Hom suddenly stood up from his seat and walked forward. I thought he wanted to sing another song for the waiting crowd. Hahaha...turned out he said he needed a toilet break! LOLS....that's really something to laugh out to. So, while he was standing and talking, I took some pictures.

Then as nightfalls, we started crowding around and looking for the que. We saw where all the crowd was and just joined in. It was soooo crowded that people started gettting sick. First, I heard someone vomitted and then I saw another lady walking pass me almost fainting. She walked to the side and had to sit on the ground..her whole face was red and sweating. Gosh...getting sick because of Lee Hom, is it worth it?? The question "what am I doing here?" honestly did cross my mind. Haha..Being squashed between the crowd..standing, waiting...luckily there's no sun! But once you're in the crowd, there's no way out. You do not take a step forward. You wait till you are pushed forward.

After being squashed for like an hour, we heard that Lee Hom will only sign until 9pm. Looking at the number of people still waiting for an autograph, I actually don't put much hope! And true enough, when we were so near the entrance for que, they said they are not accepting entry anymore. Then things became chaotic. People start jeering. They said its unfair! Then the security guards were screaming telling people not to push. Some people were pissed off and left the venue. That was when I spotted Aiko (a friend in the fanclub) and waved to her. She then came and asked Wai Wai to throw over her lyric book so that she could go up and get it signed. Funnily, after Wai Wai threw hers, many other people threw theirs at Aiko too. Hahahaha...Aiko only took Wai Wai's up to sign though. After awhile, Lee Hom had to speak up...he said (while signing), "He has a flight to catch. However, he asked his assistants to first go to the hotel to pack his stuffs for him so he has extra time here to sign." (good strategy to calm the fans down. Although in reality, the luggage must have already beeen packed earlier on...LOLS!) So, finally, we all managed to get in the queing zone.

As I mentioned earlier, even getting to get up to get an autograph, its just a glance at Lee Hom. Lee Hom looked really blur at that time. He doesn't even has time to respond or shake hands with fans. He just kept signing and signing, while looking up at alternate occasions. I can't help wondering how much he earned from album sales that night?? Must be several tenths of thousand!

So after that, we went to the back to wait for Lee Hom to get up the car. And when he finally came out, I don't know what happened to my camera!! Must've gotten the wrong settings!! It didn't do continuous shots so everything turned out blur!! Arrghhh!!! What a waste!! Once Lee Hom went into the car, he straight away adjusted his seat to sleeping position and vanished from sight. LOLS. After everything ended, we went for food and here's a picture of the autographed album with Eunice posting to it.

All I can say, famous Taiwan artistes are scary...well untag that. It should be Taiwanese artsite fans are scary!!! Scary in the sense of its number and also their selfless support towards their idols. Rain or shine, day or night, they'll stay there and support. Phew, I'm more selfish in this sense...KEKEKEKE....

Pictures which mostly consisted of 'Artistic' shots...LOLS...the flowers were more to the focus than Lee Hom was! Hahaha....

Review: Joey Yung Airport (空港) EP 2010

Its been awhile since I wrote a review on an album. This time, I'm writing one because if I don't, I feel its a waste to many Cantopop listeners to miss out listening to this EP. Of course, I am a Joey fan, however, this review is written from a very unbiased point of view because its so good that even by not being a fan, you cannot deny that its a good release.

Departure:

Opening the EP with the concert theme 空港 (a metaphor for 'Airport'), the sound of guitars and drums playing to a light rock genre surprises as rock is not a genre frequently associated to Joey. The beat attracts one to listen on and although being rockish, the song sounded refreshing and relaxing at the same time, thanks to Joey's vocals for creating a balance. 'Airport' gives a magical feeling of lightness and happiness and at the same time not missing out on heavy musical substance. Moving on to the lyrics, Wyman Wong did a great job in penning and creating the 'Airport' methaphor. An 'Airport' in the context of the song, being a place in the heart of each of us where we have the sense of belonging and existence. A place, where we hold on and look forward to whenever we are away. Thus, giving birth to the concert theme; the Hong Kong Colliseum, being Joey's 空港 this November.

On Board:

Slowing things down with track 2 is 'Disfigured'. The familiarity with Joey songs return as listeners are presented with a conventional Joey Yung rated ballad. 'Disfigured' might be the favourite among listeners as it brings back the feeling of old Joey Yung ballads (which she lacks in recent years) similar to 摩登時代 (modern times), 流淚眼望流淚眼 (teary eyes watching teary eyes), 心淡 (dull heart) and 習慣失戀 (used to heartbreak) among others. Ballads can be considered to be Joey's forte as she posseses the art of homogenizing the lyrics into the potrayal of the song. Her voice speaks the lyrics which enters your heart and you could naturally experience the painfulness of the song. This is definitely a different level of singing which stretches beyond beautiful vocals.

Cruising:

Track 3 'Fly' presents another ballad and just as one reduces their expectation and interest to another ballad, the song surprises with its unconventional arrangement and ad libs. Ad-libs are rare in Cantonese music which makes the song sounds more special and Western. Joey presented the song and ad-libs in a more soothing, airy way in contrast to a powerful emphasis. Definitely makes you feel like floating (flying perhaps?). An excellent sidetrack to the EP.

Vacation:

Track 4 'Wizard of Oz' brings back happiness as Joey sings to another breakthrough melody. A rare or one could say uniquely arranged melody by Hanjin. This song showcases Joey's versatility and her ongoing improvement in singing fast beat tracks. The melody and Joey's mood put into the song makes you feel like dancing. It brings back the happiness from the previous mellow melody from 'Fly'. The song suits the atmosphere and theme for Broadway electronics Commercial this year. No wonder this Queen of Cantopop is the sweetheart of advertisers!

Homecoming:

Bringing an end to the EP is 'Star Map'. A groovy, soul and R&B influenced music. Another song that rarely comes from Joey. A very good addition to the EP, showcasing her versatility in genres and styles. It brings a beautiful conclusion to the EP. This singer could really put on anything and never stops leaping forward to bringing her career a step further. Impossible, truly is nothing.

The end of track 5 felt like the end of track 1 of the EP. One of the reasons for recommending this EP is for its smoothmess of flow and unequivocal balance. Credits to the production team for the track arrangement. A succesful and remarkable collaboration with Joey this time around.

A suitable metaphor I would use to describe this EP is a 'plane ride'. Listening to the EP is similar to a cycle we take which forms the subheadings Departure-On Board-Crusing-Vacation-Homecoming. A sense of excitement from departure, to feelings of melancholy from leaving, followed by an enjoyable vacation and a warm welcome home. The EP forms a vicious cycle attracting listeners to repeat and repeat and repeat plays without wanting to skip any tracks. Moreover, skipping a track leaves a sense of guilt for spoiling the beauty of the flow. Good Job JY, you exceeded my expectation and impressed. Definitely seeing you at your 空港 coming November.

Justin Lo Live in Genting 2010

Time to update on this concert! I made a last minute decision to watch Justin Lo's concert at Genting last week. I was actually browsing through the internet for something else when I came across someone wanting to sell tickets for a cheaper price online. So very last minute decision (around 2 days before) I got the tickets and booked a hotel at Genting to watch Justin's concert.

Thanks to Mr. XX who sold me the tickets! The seat was at center stage, thanks for that. I think he'll probably be reading this post. Haha. However, I did something which I regretted!! I left my DSLR at home!!! Its been too long since I watched a concert at Genting that I forgot that Genting do not check bags and allow photography!! They only stop video recording!! I only brought in my compact camera! What a waste! Haihz...So again, have to use press pictures.

So Justin. I quite like his songs but I don't expect a spectacular concert because he isn't famous for one. And the only reason I watch his concert is because he has a good voice and also he writes good songs. Justin opened the concert with 好人 and his vocals was really good. I was surprised that he sang 男人KTV as the second song. Because I thought that is one of his famous song that he'll leave more towards the end. However, that night, I noticed that Justin's voice wasn't in top condition. because he went off key a few times. There was even one part where he himself realised the degree of seriousness in the off-keyness that he repeated the last phrase again to compensate the audience. And after that he added, "I allow you all to put that on Youtube!" LOL.

The concert was very casual. There wasn't really a theme for example,usually concerts would have a theme...such as Eason Chan 'Duo' Concert, Leo Ku 'Eye Fever' concert, Miriam Yeung 'Ladies & Gentlemen' concert etc. However, this concert of Justin didn't have a theme. That is why, the concert felt very casual. There wasn't any special effects or special choreography. He did the same dance as I saw at T-Music Festival concert. There was one part of the concert where I felt sleepy..hahaha...the part where he duetted with the band Rubberband...LOLS. Probably because Justin just kept singing in the same costume for about 7-8 songs and also I didn't know the song of Rubberband.

Fortunately, after that, things became more livelier when Justin came out in another costume and did some dancing. And because Justin is a little flabby, he couldn't do much dancing as he gets really exhausted. LOL. There were a few ballads that I really enjoyed Justin singing as he put his feelings into singing it. One of them is 'She's out of my Life'. I guess, most of the songs that he wrote towards his girlfriend, he could sing it with feelings and could make me feel teary eyed. Hahaha.

Justin also sang two MJ songs and did a few MJ dance steps. And that part was quite nice too. I realise that Justin could sing english songs well. Justin sang mostly ballads and changed costume three times. One of the highlight was we got to see Justin's bald head as he removed his cap. Something very rare. Hahaha. He also did two very famous dance moves; Wonder Girl's 'Nobody' and SJ's 'Sorry Sorry'. However, after that, he was panting like hell..Hahaha. Justin has to build up his stamina!! Justin ended the concert with 情歌.

And I have to say, his concert was really very short. It was just about 2 hours. Usually concerts I watch stretch from around 2 and a half to 3 hours. However, he did came out for two encores. Hahaha. First, to sing 30 days. And Justin cried while singing it. Because he thought of his girlfriend...LOLS..and the second verse, the original cantonese lyrics was all out as he sang the song in English. I think that must've been his original demo version where he sang it for his girlfriend. Hmm....he must've loved his girlfriend really much. It made me teary eyed too. Hahhaa. The second encore, Justin came out again because he said it was embarrasing he ended the concert in tears. So he came back out and sang a fast song as a conclusion.

After the concert, I tried to wait for Justin and there were many other people waiting too. However the annoying guard kept chasing us. He kept chasing and yelling asking people to leave...Come on...what's wrong with us waiting there?? Not that we'll do anything to harm people!? And he kept chasing us away, that my mum said let's go. No point waiting and getting chased like that and lowering ourself. Which I agree and left.

So how enjoyable was the concert? Out of 10 I'll give Justin 6/10. The reason is because the concert lacks a theme, lacks choreography and Justin lacks the showmanship and proffesionalism that a superstar should have. Everything seems too casual and there's not much of effort put into the concert by him. Advice to people watching an un-themed Justin concert in the future, only watch the concert if you are familiar with all his songs. If not, its not a bad concert, but nothing very interesting to watch (although, it may be different if he does a world tour themed concert). Which reminds me, next time better to watch a world tour concert!

Down memory lane to the 80's together with the Big Four (William So, Dicky Cheung, Andy Hui & Edmond Leung)

Finally found the time to post up updates on last week's concert! I was down with illness for the past few days after the concert and also caught up with tutorial and assignment work. I'm still not fully recovered yet even now. However, since its the weekend, I'd better get this post done before I proceed to another event. LOL.

Big Four concert has to be listed as one of the concert that is considered enjoyable to watch. I will not say that it is a concert of international standard (so far, the only Asian concert I have seen so far that could compete with international superstar standard is Joey's Starlight Concert). But, this concert is considered one that left an impression and also one that is memorable.

The concert started with a recorded announcement which was really funny by Sandra Ng. Sandra which is one of my favourite Asian actress just like her usual self, made a really humorous opening by exclaiming "I want my Big Four......I want my Big Four......" with increasing "hao-ness" (lust and desire) in her voice. HAHAHAHA. The crowd first laughed at it and slowly began to chant together with her..."I want my Big Four"...and the chant was connected by the opening verse of the first song "Big Four" performed by the four. An interesting opening I would say. Although very predictable. The four of them was quite lively and energetic which made even my mum who didn't really know their song feel entertained.

After singing about two more songs together in a group, they then stopped for a very long break to talk. I was expecting the talking session to be quite long because I've heard from Hong Kong fans about this. I was actually quite worried that it will be really boring if the talking session is very long. And indeed, the talking sessions was very long. However, fortunately the long talk became more of an entertaining talk show. So, it was another kind of enjoyment to receive from a concert besides live singing (of course, unless you do not understand Cantonese).

After talking session, the next part was back to the 80's part which is one of the most hillarious parts of the concert. The audience was first screened each member's new talent singing competition clips. And after each clip, each of them would appear in the exact same clothes and hairstyle they wore during the talent quest and resang their entry song. Edmond's one was one of the funniest as he had his hair curled which is a big contrast to his current mohawk. LOL. Dicky did a somersault when he performed during the talent competition. However, he didn't perform it during the concert. His three 'brothers' then teased him that he's too old. So he can't do it anymore to which Dicky then challenged them and said if he fails to do it, he'll eat away his wig. So the drumroll begins..........Bang....Dicky slipped and failed in his somersault!!!! HAHAHAHA........he was rolling with disappointment. Poor thing. He then said, "Lam yan dai jeung fu...gong dak chut zhou dak tou" (I'm a man of my words). Then he added, "bei ngoh zou yuen yin cheung wooi sin hui hao thoi, jin kui bin yat si yat si, sin sek. Dak Mou?" (Let me finish this concert then only I'll go backstage and cut the wig into smaller pieces to eat. Okay?) His brothers of course didn't give in. Then Dicky added, "sek sai kua dou yiu chit lar hai em hai?" (Even when eating a watermelon, we have to chop it first right!?) Of course, they were just playing around. LOL.

There were certain sessions of the concert that wasn't very nice. And they were from William So and Andy Hui. Both of them had parts of singing sexy songs. However, the song selection in my opinion was really poor. The song was plain and boring and added (it may be the sound system problem) their voice was not distinct and clear enough for me to hear the words of the song they are singing. Distinct vocals and clarity is very important when singing Cantonese songs or I should say Chinese songs in general. Which is why I don't really like listening to Jay Chou songs. No offense, its his style, but I prefer distinct and clear voices. Out of the four, I would say Edmond has the best vocals. In one of the solo parts where each member performs, Edmond appear on stage with a grand piano, playing the piano while singing to his ballad. I love that part!! "Lam sei"!! Hahaha. The four seem to have their own roles in the solo parts. Dicky was responsible for talking, Edmond for his prince charming heart-melting romantic ballads (>.<), William for his sexy sequence and Andy Hui for his hip-hop dancing. Andy's dance was enjoyable but his vocals isn't really good.

The concert was also filled with laughter. Because the four of them revealed a lot of their funny moments as friends together. They played clips and images such as how the three brothers did silly things to a drunk Dicky on his wedding night such as tying him up, sticking stuff into his nose etc. LOL. Besides, there were also home videos took during their trip in Thailand where Dicky secretly recorded a bathing William So. Of course the sensitive parts were blurred. Hahahaha. And also a caught red handed scene of Dicky farting onto Edmond's face! Hahaha..Poor Edmond!!!

Another enjoyable part of the concert is where the four of them sang their famous hits one by one. And their song selections were different than the one they did in Hong Kong. I'm glad that Dicky changed his selection to 'ni ai wo xiang shui'. Because its my favourite song of his. He didn't sing it in Hong Kong because its a mandarin number. At this time, everyone started enjoying the concert, however they announced that this is 'may' be the last song for the concert and they then sang 愛莫能助 together as the last song. Of course, when they say may, it means there will be encore. Hahaha. After about 5-10 minutes, they reappeared in shiny costumes and sang a 15 track medley while running down almost the whole lower area of the stadium to shake hands with audience. The situation was really chaotic. Hahaha. A really hard time for the security guards LOL. There were like 10 guards having to pull and guide each of them down the stage while they shook hands. After they finish with shaking hands, me and my mum noticed something. Dicky was so exhausted after that! His other brothers were running up stage and dancing, but he slowly walked up and moved to the side to remove a few button of his suit. I think he went short of breath. Really pity him. He's not young. Already in his mid 40's. So its understandable. However, he forced and push himself on to dance about and bow and bid farewell to the audience and ended the concert in a high note.

Owh, and I didn't take any pictures from the concert. Because, its not allowed and I didn't want the authorities to bother me if I take any pictures. A little fed up with that happening everytime I watch a concert. LOL. So the few pictures here are coutesy of pictures from news sites. Overall, its quite an enjoyable concert. Not a 100% music satisfied concert, however its more to their showmanship and sense of humour that makes it nice. I tried to wait to see if they will come out after concert, however, they didn't. Hmm..is it just Joey who does that? LOL. But anyway, I saw Joey Tang! The music producer for the concert and also one of the member of the band "Tai Chi" after concert on stage. I actually wanted to take a picture with him! He was also the producer for Joey's MOOV Live mini concert last year and also producer for many other concerts such as Eason's and Miriam's etc.However, I didn't. Now I regret. LOLS. Should just grab the chance next time. Hahaha.

Finally, all the best to the four of them for their following shows at other parts of the globe! I'm starting to like Edmond more now. Hahahaha~

Joey Yung to lose weight for concert

Joey Yung and Wyman Wong attended British designer Gareth Pugh I.T apparell store visit event. Joey hopes that Gareth could help her in designing her costumes for her upcoming concert in November.

Joey revealed that she will be visiting Paris around September or October accompanied by Wyman for dance rehearsals and also costume arrangements.

When asked whether the concert will emphasise on sexiness, Joey laughed and answered, "I don't have a bottom line. I have to lose weight, around 10 pounds is my target."

Ivy: Seems like ages since I translated news!! Haha, however had the mood to do one tonight. And because I'm excited to read more news on Joey's coming concert. I guess the hype is starting now after Raymond's concert ended. Hahaha...I suppose this 2 concerts are the anticipated concert of the second half of 2010 in Hong Kong.

And Joey having to reduce 10 pounds sounds so scary!!! If she's around 50kg now, that means she'll have to reduce to 45kg with a height of 169cm??? OMG!!!!! However, its cool that she'll spend her time in Paris for rehearsals!! Wonder what she has planned in mind? And besides that, Joey was Raymond's concert guest for his final show!! And they look really adorable together. I'm probably influenced by the movie Jade & the Pearl. Their collaboration turned out better than expected. And they do look adorable together at the concert that night! Here's some nice pictures to share!

Raymond wanted to kiss Joey! However, Joey rejected him! HAHAHA...Poor thing! They look so cutey together!! Hahaha...hope she didn't got electrified by Fung though...although she's a year younger than Fung. LOLS!! And I have to say, I love Joey's fashion sense!!!! Jade and the Pearl Premieres in Malaysian Cinemas Tomorrow

Finally another event to write about! I went to Vincy Chan's album promotion function at Red Lounge & Karaoke last night. Yeah, function at a lounge & karaoke.......more on that later. Well, since I was in Penang yesterday and the venue of the function is just about 10 minutes from my house, so why not attend it right? Haha~

Again, I drag Karen and Eunice with me. LOL! The event was supposed to start at 8pm, however, typical as to all functions, Vincy came around 8:30pm-8:45pm. There were a few funny experience during the function though. Haha...First, while sitting with my friends and not only the two mentioned, but also 2-3 more from my secondary school which I met at the function (Penang is a small island) I spotted Joey's Malaysia Fanclub leader! Hahaha....I thought I saw the wrong person at first. But turned out it is her..LOL. Seems like she is from Penang too and also she fetched her friend from KL to Penang for the function. That's why she's here.

So as usual, before function starts, MC will warm up the atmosphere. And this time...'Thanks to my friends' I was tricked to go up stage!!! I was actually not even looking at the stage while the thing was going on...then I think the MC pointed at our group and asked one of us to go up to answer questions. Since I wasn't paying attention, so I didn't know what was happening. Suddenly Karen asked me to turn around, so okay, I turned around. And the next thing I know the MC was pointing and looking at me, then asking me to go up stage. I was so blur so I just went up. When I went up, the MC first asked me, "Are you here to see Vincy?" I answered, "Yes." Then he asked if I listen to Vincy's songs? And in my head: omgosh, omgosh.....I don't really listen to her songs!!!...But my mouth answered very doubtfully: "Yeah." My uncertainty was so apparent that the MC went, "you really know?" and I just nodded. HAHAHA....next question he asked me was, "Do you usually sing karaoke?" And to this I answered, "Yes." And now in my head: Oh no!!! Don't tell me you want me to sing Vincy's song!!!! I'll drop dead and die on stage or either blurt out a Joey song instead!!! Hahahaha..... Then he continued and talked about a song where Vincy dueted with Ocean Hoi Ming Wai...at the mention of this I felt a little more relieved since I at least know that song. Lol. Then, his question was, "What is the title of that song?" In my heart: hahahahah...what an easy question!! But wait...is it 'ngoh dik wooi yik bat si ngoh dik' or 'ngoh dik wooi yik bat si nei dik'??? You know...at critical moment, this thing always happen!!! So after judging which phrase makes more sense, I chose the first option. And yeah, finally get to leave stage!!! LOLS....after all that, I came to know later on that the MC didn't specifically ask me to come up!!!! I was tricked to believe that by my friends!! Arghh!! I became a voluntary scapegoat for them!!! Isshhh!!!!!

After that, its time for Vincy to come out. And she greeted us with a hello and 'dai gah hou!'...after that, the MC said that Penang people understands Mandarin and not Cantonese and asked if she could use mandarin instead? So Vincy gave an "Oh, ho yi!" and switched to Mandarin mode as can be seen from this video...LOLS.

She then sang the first song titled 無緣罪 'mou yuen zui'. Her fans sang along with her very loudly..LOL. And because of that and added the blasting loudness from the system, all the videos I took can only be watched but not listened. So I'm not going to upload them up. Vincy sang well. Her vocals are good and I have no doubt of that. Since I know she's a good singer. However, I personally think that the reason she still could not breakthrough to the top is because of her lack of versatiliy such as dancing and also the lack of charisma. All of these takes time to develop though. And she has to improve on that. She then sang another two more songs, the title plug 不可預見只可遇見 and her new madarin title, 'yuan lai ai qing na me nan'. I love the 3rd song she sang, however, its not in the album. After all the singing and talking about the album, its time for autograph session!

I was wondering if Vincy would sign on anything just like what Joey did? Well, didn't make any difference to me because I don't have anything else for her to sign besides the album I just bought. Haha. So my friends were in front of me. So I told them don't miss the chance. When you're up there, just ask Vincy if you could take a picture with her. They didn't think they could at first. Haha. However while we were queing, we saw that Vincy did sign her older albums too and also allows photos to be taken. Well, most of the time it depends on her assistant standing beside. LOL. If the assistant doesn't shove you away, then the artiste is fine with it. So there were two friends, one did manage to takeand another one didn't ask her for one...what a waste. Then when it was my turn, I asked Vincy, "Vincy, ho em ho yi tong nei ying cheung siong ar?" And Vincy nodded. So I asked her to look at the camera below (Karen is holding it down the stage). Then I move beside her..and oops..I think I banged too hard on Vincy's arm!!! HAHAHAHA....Then we both posed for Karen to snap. And Karen just learned how to use my DSLR about an hour ago before function. Hahaha....then she pressed on the shutter and I saw one flash. However she didn't look up..so we still posed on..then I saw another flash...and again she still didn't look up!! And me and Vincy were still posing there...Hahaha...finally I stood back up since Karen still didn't look up from the camera to tell me if its okay already. Hahaha...I then thanked Vincy for it and told her, "Ga yao!" (add oil).

After that, I went to Karen to see the picture. And as always, the picture taken too far away..LOLS..however, the advantage of using a DSLR is that I can crop it out without much noise to the picture! After signing more for others, then Vincy left rushing to another function at AutoCity which will take maybe another 40minutes drive. Haha. Joey's FC leader said bye to me before she also left and then after that we took a photo with One FM DJ(the MC). Then, end of event and also supper time! LokLok at Pulau Tikus...HAHAHA. Miss Penang food. Vincy gave me an impression as being quite a nice artiste. Not specially attractive however she's considered as one of the nice ones. She has the voice, just lacks a distinct personality eg. Sherman has that demure attitude while Joey has that silly sense of humour. Vincy could slowly develop one (it takes time) and wish her all the best in her future career! A picture of her album and autograph:

Before I forget, earlier, I mentioned about the event venue. I am starting to wonder why Orange Music, which is also EEG's album packaging and distributor in Malaysia always picks these type of places to hold their functions? When I mean these places, I mean places which sells alcoholic beverages. First, I mentioned Joey's function at Station One in my earlier post. However, after more EEG artiste functions, I realised that Joey's onewas pretty decent since Station One is open to all ages. However, Sherman & William's one at KL Live Centre is considered a semi lounge and this time Vincy's is IN a lounge. I don't like to attend functions and end up going home smelling of smoke!! Hopefully they will not organise functions at these places anymore. Its not very safe for the fans and the artiste too actually. So, finally, pictures~! Hi!!! I'm back for an update! Well, actually, I have an update which I haven't posted up because the pictures from the event is in another storage device and I don't have it with me now. I'll probably post up that delayed event update when I get hold of the pictures.

Anyway, I started classes again today. So depressing...HAHAHA...Luckily, Joey plugged a new song and its a funky fast song to cheer me up! Joey never stops venturing into different styles and genres for her song which is a good thing. Such a versatile singer. The title of the song is 綠野仙踪. I've got no idea how to translate this...Wizard of Oz something?? Hahaha...Its the commercial song for Broadway Electronics. I'm just starting to listen to it a few times. And I would recommend watching the Broadway CM first before listening to the song. Somehow it makes the song sounds better...LOL. Besides this song, there is another ballad that will be releasing soon. The ballad MV is filmed in 3D and Joey is honoured to be the first HK singer to film a full 3D MV! Since there isn't a high quality version of the song and also the MV yet, I'll leave that to a later post.

Besides songs, I'm looking forward to the movie 'The Jade & the Pearl" starring Raymond Lam, Charlene Choi, Joey Yung and Cho Lam. They are attending functions in China for the premieres in early August. I wonder if Malaysian fans will be lucky enough?? *Fingers cross* Here is a trailer for the movie:

Well, the storyline seems decent enough. And the subtheme of the movie inserted into the clip at Joey's sad life part suits the scene a lot. Haha....I prefer the second half more than the first half of the silly parts. Hope its a good movie! Looking forward to it!!

And I already bought tickets for Big Four's coming concert!! Hope its a good concert~ 19 more days to it!! Stay tuned for updates on it!

26th June 2010: Jennifer Tse, Meet the Fans Session at Pavillion Guess Outlet

Jennifer Tse’s event. Another event organized by Jazzy Group of Companies or probably the friendly group of companies. Jennifer came here to Malaysia by invitation from Guess the fashion apparel company for a photoshoot as their model. The meet the fans session was scheduled to be at 1pm. However, I reached Pavillion early at around 1145am. So I just went around with my mum and a family friend to look for the Guess outlet first so that I don’t have to search for it later.

I found the outlet just very nearby the floor I parked my car. So I didn’t even have to really search. So I went in and started looking at watches. Since I like Guess fashion watches. LOL. Then eeeks…there’s someone looking very familiar and she’s trying on watches too! Hahaha…and its Jennifer! So we just looked at her then my mum went to ask one of the promoters there if that’s Tse Ting Ting? Then one of the person in charge heard us and she was really friendly and asked if we would want to take a picture with her and get an autograph? And we were like, “Oh we could? Sure!”. So we then went out to the Guess board backdrop and Jennifer approached us. She then offered a handshake with me which was really nice of her. Then I took a picture with her together with my mum. After that, the person in charge then took the Guess notebook and asked Jennifer to sign an autograph for me, and also wrote my name on the notebook too. Haha…So I told Jennifer my name’s Ivy. And while she was writing, I asked her (all in English for this function), “How long have you been here?” And Jennifer answered (I think she heard wrongly), “I’m very excited, its my first time here. I’ll be leaving tomorrow.” So after that, I thanked her for the autograph and said, “Nice to meet you.”…and she gave a smile and nodded. Then I helped my friend took a picture.

After that, we then left the Guess outlet. And I was planning whether to even continue waiting until 1pm later or just go shopping instead. HAHA. However, with the urge to get nice pictures to blog about, I told my mum from the Zara outlet we were in, that I feel like taking more pictures of her. And my mum said, alright, go on! So I went back to Guess outlet alone. When I went in Jennifer was sitting on the couch waiting for an interview with Sinchew reporter. So I went to ask the person in charge earlier if I’m allowed to take pictures of her while she’s around the outlet. And she said Sure, I could! Yay! So I took some pictures of her while she’s doing interview.

The interview was kinda soft but I heard some stuff mentioned such as on her family background, Nic’s new baby and her movie filming…..After taking pictures and stopping because there’s not much to take anymore, I then chatted with a lady beside me. She was standing and looking so I asked if she’s with Jennifer? And she said, Owh, she’s with Guess. So she asked if I’m an official photographer for the event? So I said No. Just for interest and hobby. Then we chatted a little about artiste, how skinny they are how they use make up techniques, how Jennifer is friendly and how I have met some diva attitude artistes. Haha. She saw some Bernice pictures in my camera and she told me that Bernice is very good with the camera. And I told her, yeah! Many advertisers love to use her. And she told me its because Bernice is very natural with the camera. Once the photo shoot starts, she very naturally poses in various beautiful poses and job done very quickly. The only problem left after that is to pick the best of the best! And she mentioned some artiste are camera shy, although she didn’t mention who. Then after the small chat, I saw a real photographer from Sinchew and he was like quickly wanting to get the job done. He told her colleague, “How you want the photo taken?” Then with a very unenthusiastic look took a few pictures of Jennifer, then left. Come on, do your job with heart! If not, your pictures won’t turn out good too! The photo speaks the photographer~Even if its only for a newspaper column should still take the picture with heart and passion!

Follow on, the photographer for Jazzy then talked to me. He told me I have a really nice camera, the Nikon D90. And he taught me some tricks to shoot under this lighting and we chatted awhile and so later on I just followed him together to shoot pictures for the rest of the event. I also met Audrey from Jazzy. I could recognise her from Charmaine’s Skinz event! Haha. So we chatted too, and she asked if I’ll stay until 1pm later. I was doubting at first, however I made up my mind to join in the fun and support the event. Jeniffer then did a recording for 8TV’s variety show with one of the 8tv host which I’m not familiar with because I don’t really watch local channels! Haha. After all that done, then I went out and there were already many fans quieing waiting for Jennifer to get their autographs. A picture of the anticipating fans:

So after awhile Jennifer then walked out and all the media started taking photos and she started with a media interview. So, she was first surrounded by reporters. Feels so much like those On.CC news clips(if you know what I mean). Here’s a shot:

Love her hair, super duper love it. Hahaha…when we were talking about it, one of the Guess girls said, yeah, if I spend 2 hours a day on it, I can have that too! LOLS. So then, she posed for some pictures for reporters. Here’s a shot to share:

Soon after, signing autograph and taking picture session started. So happy me, taking photographs to my heart’s desire since I’m standing just right in front. LOL. However, I love this 2 shots.

From the way she handles the baby, she must have been carrying Lucas/Quintus a lot at home. Haha.

After the shots got repetitive, I just stool and observe and then I spotted Ah Peng and her brother among the crowd. So I went over and said Hi, then when it was their turn, I helped them took pictures. After like 1 hour, which was the allocated time, the autograph session then ends. However, I haven’t gotten my autograph of her on her picture instead of the notebook. So I asked Annie (from Jazzy) for a picture and she gave me one. Then the security guard there saw that I haven’t signed so he helped me pass my picture to Jennifer’s manager. Jennifer was doing I-channel station interviews. Her manager was quite nice. She joked that she’ll sign on it instead. Hahaha…after Jennifer finished interview, she then helped me sign. I then managed to take a picture with her again and Simon the photographer which I chatted with helped me take the photos. Thanks to him! After taking photos, I told Jennifer I hope she'll have a nice day for the rest of today. And she thanked me for it.

After that, she went back in to the outlet and then its Simon’s turn for asking for a photo with Jennifer. So I helped him took the shot. LOL. I then thanked Audrey and Annie for the day and Audrey told me she’ll contact me on Sheh’s next event, which is not confirmed yet though. So then, I called my mum to ask where is she? LOL. So she said she’ll come look for me. So I had to wait around the outlet for awhile. Jennifer at that time already changed to a long pants and tied her hair up and wore sunglasses. Hahaha. She also shopped around Guess and I heard she bought RM2993 worth of stuffs. However, I think its sponsored by Guess. Jennifer also said she wanted to look for male apparels. Probably for her boyfriend? That’s sweet of her if so~ After that, she left and her manager saw me as they were walking out and even smiled and waved bye to me. Nice manager. By the time it all ended, its already almost 3pm. Wow, almost 4 hours I’ve been there. LOL. It was a nice experience though, and the organisers from Jazzy and Guess were both very friendly too. Of course, Jennifer is a nice artiste too. She actually just seriously got into showbiz…so wish her all the best! Here's the signed notebook and picture I got:

20th June 2010: Meeting Big Four at the Airport

Another one of those last minute stuff...LOL. I saw the papers and knew Big Four was coming for promotion of their concert only on Thursday(18th June) and I was in Penang at that time. Thus, I could not attend the functions, thus, sorry no pictures from the event. However, I managed to get a flight similar to their departure time on 20th flying back to KL from Penang, thus, I managed to meet them at the airport.

Actually I thought I was going to be alone this time to see them however, luckily I spotted Ah Ping, Wai Wai and Aiko at the airport also. LOL. So luckily, I'm not alone. HAHA. After waiting for like 20-30 minutes, we finally spotted William So walking in pushing his trolley full of baggage. HAHA. So I walked forward with Ah Ping and Ah Ping called him, "So Wing Hong"...and he was kinda blur and looked at us and I added a "Hello!"...LOL. So we followed him and William was like understood. He left his passport at the check-in counter then he automatically walked to us and stood for us to take pictures with him. So I helped Ah Ping took a picture first. Ah Ping said she wanted a vertical picture, however, I didn't understand that in Cantonese actually, so I took a horizontal one for her. LOL. Then Ah Ping was like telling me again, vertical, then William added, "Aiya, told you already vertical, why never listen ar!?" LOLS....So after that I took one with William. However, I'm not very happy with my picture...LOLS...because my pose looks so weird...LMAO...well, better than nothing. After that, William walked back to the counter. Wai Wai and Aiko was looking for the other three members, thus they miss the chance to take picture with William.

Then the other three arrive and we all move towards Dicky. Somehow, we are all more interested with Dicky. HAHAHA. Then we asked Dicky for pictures and he was happy for it, however, the big large burly Indian security guard stopped us. He said no pictures allowed at airport. At that, we were like, HUH?? Since when does photo taking is prohibited in airports!!?? New Rule? LOLS....then Dicky was like, (btw, he speaks in English), "Owh, no photo in airport?? Awwww". Then for awhile after he said that, we were just standing there and looking at them. I saw Andy Hui and Edmund however, Andy was standing quite far away and he left pretty fast after he got his boarding pass. In fact, he didn't wait for the rest. He just went in straight into imigrations without waiting for his other members. He was probably too tired from watching the football match last night. HAHA. After standing for quite awhile, I felt that I should do something and not just stand there and do nothing watching them. So since Ah Ping has something for Dicky to sign, I took the thing and walked over beside Dicky. Then I called him, "Dicky, Dicky..." At first he didn't hear me, then I called him again and the guard heard me and started to stop me from asking for autographs with reasons that we'll cause the place to be crowded. And I was like, Huh? How can four people be crowded?? However, Dicky saw me and starting telling the guard, "Its Okay, Its Okay." However, the guard still insists with a no...GOSH! I guess by this time, Dicky was frustrated too! He told the guard again, "autographs is Okay!' then he just took the pen and picture from me and started signing it.

Then we took this opportunity to ask Dicky again if we could take pictures? I even asked if we don't on the flash if that's okay? Without flash, no attention attracting right?? LOLS. Then Dicky asked his assistant (I think she is his assistant)...he asked her, "gei cheong hai em hai em ho yi ying siong ga?" (is there a rule that no photos at airport?)...and the assistant was reluctant to give a definite answer and said, "kei sat...yu guo nei okay geh wah.." (actually if you're okay with it..)..Dicky then said, he's okay with it! Then we said, actually, we don't mind just taking one picture, a group picture will be okay too. So finally, his assistant said okay, I'll help you guys take one picture. So we managed to take a group picture with Dicky!

After that, we saw Edmund. He was just right infront of me so we called him, "Edmund!" And he's like "Hey!" and walked towards us. Then he also automatically understood we wanted to take pictures. Then very funilly he asked the guy beside him, "ngoh tau fat ying em ying dak seung ar?" (my hair is it tidy enough for a picture?) Then he started picking and styling his hair a little before taking pictures with us. HAHA...so cute and funny!! He's very nice, and when he takes pictures with you, he's the type where he will place his hands over fan's shoulders. LOL. After that, we walked forward first to the immigration area and Dicky and Edmund was actually trailing behind us. BTW, I was dragging a luggage back at that time, I think they must be wondering when trailing at the back that why this fan brings a luggage bag with her? HAHAHA......

So once at the gate, they said thank you to the crew and shook their hands. Then they turned to us and shook hands with each of us too~ And its them who offered the handshake instead of us. HAHA....so they told us, see us at August 7th then (their concert date). Then they almost took the lift instead of the escalator so we told them, take the escalator, not the lift! HAHA..and they walked towards the escalator. LOL. They waved bye to us and then Ah Ping asked Dicky, next time can she take a picture with Dicky with the bald head instead? HAHA, and Dicky was like "What?" And Ping repeated and he said, "Owh, Yeah can"...LOL. Then they left and at the lower level, Dicky yelled back up to us, "dim gaai yiu kwong tao?" (why must be bald?) And Ah Ping replied, "Coz look more handsome that way". HAHAHA. And we shouted out to Edmund too from above, and he was so blur looking for where we were and finally spotted us up there and waved to us. LOLS.

Conclusion, overall, Big Four were considered really nice artistes. No arrogance of that sort. They are considered veteran artiste in the industry. And I'm starting to have that feeling that HK singers are nicer than some of the TV artistes. HAHAHA....Hmm, August 7th? Well, probably I'll be there too...still about 2 months to go, so I have ample time to decide. HAHA. And Wynner will be having a concert on the same date at Genting Highlands too...my mum is more keen on Wynner though..LOLS. Let's see how it goes~

Since there isn't any pictures that does not have me in it, thus, I'll just share this picture of me with Edmund. Haihz, fatty me already for feasting on durians in Penang for the past week! Gonna shake that fat off and also my final paper is this Friday!! Can't wait to end my exams!!!! Will update more once exam ends!!! Thanks for support~

I'm still halfway through my exams...Suffering!! LOLS...Anyway, Joey released a new mandarin song about 2 days ago. The title is 信今生愛過(roughly translated as 'believe loved cameby this life?'). Its a ballad. I've played a few times. Sound quite okay so far. Have to listen more and wait for the CD version to know. Anyway, here's the DJ version for download:

On the other hand, I attended the Joey Birthday celebration live conference today. Although it was a very short video conference however it was much fun!! Joey's very humorous as usual. As I'm not supposed to reveal much of the details of the event, thus I'll just briefly update on some information. I managed to ask Joey when will her next album be released and she said September. Since she's releasing a mandarin number, I think it will be a mandarin album then. Which means cross fingers she will come to Malaysia for promotion.

Joey also mentioned that her concert will be at the end of November this year. I'm planning to see if i can make it. Hopefully its after my exams! And also when asked how many shows will there be for the concert, she humorously answered, "erm...hei ma dou yao yat cheung geh" (Erm...there's at least 1 show).

After today's celebration, I'm starting to miss Joey again. LOLS. She's very much into charity now, telling us enthusiastically she brought her HK fans to do charity this morning. HAHA. Although we didn't know what to answer aftet that and just responded with an "Oh." Probably she was dissapointed with that answer. HAHA.

I'm still very stressed up and busy with exam preparations. Will update here more often once I'm in my semester break again!!! See ya!! Enjoy the song~

24th May 2010 Event: At KLIA with Moses Chan, Ron Ng & Natalie Tong

Before I start, I have to say going to KLIA is a honest coincidence. I did not intentionally go to KLIA for this. But its just coincidentally I’m flying back to Penang on the same day as them flying back to Hong Kong. My friend Eunice, after getting addicted from chasing star on Saturday, decided to follow me along to KLIA after knowing that Ron and Moses will be going back on the same day too. Thus, I reached KLIA around 2:45pm and I had to buy plane tickets and also went to check in. My flight is at 6:05pm while theirs is at 5:40pm. So I’m quite safe. HAHA. So after done with all that, me and Eunice waited and we saw other fans around too. Its quite obvious the looks of fans. LOL. Its printed on their face in big bold letters “FANS”. Kidding…LOL.

After no activity going on I saw a security look kinda guy running into the check in counter of Cathay. So I got a sense they have arrived. So I asked Eunice to follow me and true enough, Ron and Moses was walking down from the car. And besides the two of them, I saw a lady wearing hat with them too. I couldn’t recognise who is that girl from far, however from the charisma she carries(that’s what artistes have which makes it easy to differentiate them between a crew and an artiste), I’m very sure she is an artiste and not a crew member. Ron walked in first and his fans started surrounding him and followed. Then that girl walked over me and I didn’t manage to see her very clearly as to recognise her. After she walked over, Moses walked in and he looked at me and smiled and I greeted him “Ah Mo!” and he said “Hi Hi!” Then again, his fans started surrounding him. For people like me, who is a fan of TVB dramas as a whole (sitting on the bench)….HAHA…I walked beside the girl to have a closer look instead. She was talking to a crew member beside her while walking and after looking closely at her and recognizing the voice, I blurted out, “Tong Si Wing!!!”. And she turned around to face me in surprise at her name being called so loudly and said “Hello!!” (At this time, I have to honestly say I almost confused her with Tong Ling!!! Thank god I didn’t blurt out the name Tong Ling instead!! Because I tend to confuse between the two, thanks to their cute, youthful looks). She then resumed talking to the guy while we walked towards the check in counter. Once there, Natalie just stood there with the guy while Ron was surrounded with his fans. Then seeing Natalie being free, I asked her, “Si Wing, ho em ho yi tong nei ying cheung hap jiu ar?” (Natalie, can I take a picture with you?) And she was like, “Oh, ho yi, ho yi!” (Oh, can sure) Imagine Natalie saying that in the usual cute way she speaks. HAHA. I then let Eunice take a picture first because I was using my DSLR. After that I passed Eunice my camera and asked her to help me take one. (Eunice!! Teach you how to use already, end up failed…blur picture!!!). I didn’t realise it was blur. After that, we thanked Natalie and looked around. We saw Ron, however he was filming a video for his fans. Then we looked around, however Moses was missing!!! Then Galey (their manager) realized that too, then one of the security guards told her he’ll go get Moses back. LOL. Then Moses returned back to visibility area playing and laughing around with his fans. So I walked over to him and asked Moses if he could help me sign some autographs? And he said, “Owh, ho yi, dak dak.” (Oh, sure can!). As usual, Moses is still the soft spoken gentlemen just like the last time I saw him in previous functions. While he was signing I added, “Ho em ho yi se ngo ge meng ar? Ngoh kiu Ivy” (Can you write my name? I’m Ivy). He then again said, “Ivy, okay.” and he started writing. However, he took a very long time to write and I was wondering what is taking him such a long time. And because he’s so tall, I couldn’t actually see what is he writing. I guessed that he was drawing stuffs so I asked him, “nei hai em hai hou zhong yi wak wa ga?” (Do you like to draw?) And he turned to me and grinned and said, “hai ah!” (yes!). Then suddenly one of his fans came over and asked him if he could hurry up because many people wants to take pictures still. Which made me felt awkward. However, Moses was cool with it and just nodded. Then he passed the first picture to me. I expected him to just sign the second picture however instead, he also wrote my name on it!! So nice of him! Then after he signed I asked if I could take a picture with him? And he said yes and I took one with him. After that, I helped Eunice take one. However, the picture turned out dark. Thus, we had to ask him for another picture again, and he was okay with it too and just posed for the camera. After that, we thanked him and left because his fans was rushing him. So we went to look for Ron since I haven’t take a picture with him yet. However, I couldn’t find him anywhere. Then I looked at the picture I took with Natalie and it was blur!! I walked over to where a few of his fans were which was also beside Natalie. Then I asked one of his fans where is Ron? And she said, toilet. HAHA. Then I went up to Natalie and asked if I could get another picture with her because the earlier one was blur. And she said, “oh ho yi ho yi” (oh, can, can). Then she wanted to put her arms over my shoulder..haha..however, because I was carrying a backpack so she can’t! LOL. So after thanking her for the picture, we then just stood there with Natalie and then Natalie started asking questions. She asked us if we went to watch their show (Ron & Moses) on Saturday night? I didn’t go, thus, I didn’t answer. Ron’s fans said yeah they did and Natalie asked how was it? And nobody responded though, and Natalie was like, why? And shook her head signaling as if it’s a bad show. HAHA…and she then said, you can tell me, don’t worry. He’s not here! HAHA. However, I didn’t know why, but Ron’s fans didn’t really respond to that. Then it took quite some time for Ron to come out so she asked, “kui em ji oh meh leh, oh gam loi?” (what is he disposing off in the toilet that he needs such a long time?) And we laughed. Then one of Ron’s fans said, why don’t you ask him later? And Natalie was like, “Wah!? Ngo em gaam ar!” (Wah, I dare not!) Then Ron’s fans walked off somewhere further so it was me, Eunice, Natalie and the crew together. And she was standing there quietly so I felt I should create some topic to speak about. So, I asked her, “Si Wing, nei lei joh gei yat ah?” (Natalie, how many days have you been here?) And she showed two fingers up and smiled while saying, “Liong yat!”(2 days). I answered with an Oooh..then I further asked, “yao mou hui shopping ar?” (did you do any shopping?) And she lightened up at that question. She said, “yao ar!! Hui joh go giu meh….One ah?”(I did, I went to that..erm..something called One??..) Then the crew completed it for her, “One Utama”. And we were like, “Oooh! One U!!” And she said, “hai ah, hai ah! Hui Joh bun goh zhong!” (Yes, yes, shopped for 30 minutes!). Then again I didn’t know what to say to her, then the crew then asked her if the bag in front filled with Malaysian traditional biscuits was what she bought? And she said, “em hai ar…li di hai kui dei sung bei ngoh ga” (no, these are gifts).

Then after that, I saw Ron walking back. Galey spotted him and told the rest to walk to the Departure gate entrance instead. So we all walked. I was afraid that they will leave so I can’t get Ron to sign a picture, so while walking, I told Galey, “Galey, ngoh zhong mei loh dou chim ming ar!” (Galey, I haven’t get an autograph!) Then Galey was like, Har?? You haven’t got one..then he gestured Ron to come over…and said, “lei, pong kui chim ming!” (come, help her sign). And Ron was like a small boy following instruction when he said, “har? Chim ming..oh” Then he helped me signed and while he signed I asked him for pictures then I managed to take one with him and then later helped Eunice take one too. Here’s a picture he signed:

After that, again his fans surrounded him and took pictures with him. I think because the fans took pictures many times with him already, one of the security guards wanted to stop Ron from taking anymore pictures. However, another guard blocked that guard and asked him to let it be. This is funny, first time I saw a guard stopping another guard from stopping fans to take pictures with artiste. Get what I mean?? LOL. Probably Galey gave them instructions to allow the fans to do so. So after that, they were ready to walk in and the close fans of Moses and Ron started hugging them..which I didn’t join because I‘m not actually in their fanclubs. Under the commotion, Natalie was standing there so I took my camera up and told her, “Si Wing, pose har la!“ (Natalie, pose for a photo!) And that’s where I got this shot! HAHA.

After I took it, I told her, “Dak! Post siong nei Mei Bok lar!” (Got it! I’ll post it up on your Weibo)..Natalie gave a surprised shocked look and then nodded. HAHA..she then told the crew guy something about ‘tagging it up at weibo’. I think because the crew didn’t know what weibo was. After that, Galey gave Moses and Ron their passport and they managed to walk pass the security check. When Natalie wanted to get hers, I think her boarding pass wasn’t processed yet, thus she couldn’t go through. Then Galey told her she’ll go help her get it done and asked Ron and Moses to go down first. And also she took Ron’s water bottle out and asked Ron to finish the water if he wants to now because he can’t bring it in after. Then Ron said, pour the water away, but I want to keep the bottle. And his fans and Galey was like…You want the bottle?? HAHA. So Ron and Moses was ready to go down and started to say bye to their fans when they noticed Natalie was still at the other side…and then Moses pointed at her and said, “nei leh…??” (what about you??) And Natalie just shrugged. And their fans started asking them to wait at that area and the two gentlemen were like Okay. Ron moved to the left side while Moses to the right. Its like separated to two sides. Natalie, me, Eunice and the crew guy were standing at the centre and we were watching Moses making funny experessions to his fans and Natalie said, “kui hou gao siu.” (he’s very funny). So I told Moses, “Ah Mo, pose ha la!” Then because he saw the immigration officer there so he gave a saluting pose. However, before I could press the shutter, one of the immigration officer blocked my view because he stood in front of Moses. Then I looked at Moses and he also realized I didn’t get the shot because I was blocked. We then both looked at the officer and he was really funny to sort of glide further to the left with the saluting pose for me to get another picture. That’s how I got this picture of him. You could see a little part of the officer’s uniform in the picture. HAHA.

After that, Moses went back to his fans and I’m with Natalie again. HAHA. Then suddenly, some Caucasian guy said, “Excuse me!” to Natalie, because Natalie and actually us, being standing at the centre, actually blocked other passengers from passing the security gate. Then Natalie was like, “Oh, sorry!” and stepped aside. I stepped aside too and after both of us realized what just happened, we both gave each other the “Uh-Oh” looks which was very cute and she grinned. HAHA. Natalie and the crew then walked over further to the side so as not to block anyone else. Then seeing Ron and Moses both very occupied with their fans, I followed Natalie. By this time, the crew guy was quiet probably both didn’t know what else to talk about. And I saw him carrying a big paper bag with the word ‘pastries’ in Chinese written on it. So I asked, “Si Wing…li ti hai meh peng lei gah? Nei mai hou doh peng ar?”(Natalie, what biscuits are these? You bought a lot of biscuits?). Then she said, “Oooh! Hai dan gou lei gah!” (Oh they are cakes). Then I added, “dan gou??”(cake??)…And she added, “hai ah dan gou…goh giu meh Pan…em ji hai meh…goh luk sek ge dan gou…” (yeah, cakes…that one called something like Pan…I don’t know what is that…that green colored cake)…and we exclaimed, “oooh! Pandan cake!!” And she said, “hai ah, hai ah!!” (Yes, yes!) At that time Galey was back and passed her passport to her. She took it from Galey and continued talking while walking..she then added..”zhong yao lau lin gou!” (and durian cake too!)..And I was like, “nei zhong yi sik lau lin gah!!??” (You like to eat durians!?) And she gave a shy laugh and said, “hai ah!” (yes). I wanted to add that I love durians too, however she already went through the checkpoint. Then, Moses and Ron also said bye and waved to us. I waved to Moses and he waved back. Then, finally, the happy thing is, Natalie then turned back and looked for me and waved bye to me..HAHA…I waved back to her too, of course! I think she could remember me better as me and Eunice were the only few fans who were with her most of the time. I could imagine how left out she would've been if we didn't chat more with her as she doesn't have a fanclub in Malaysia. Its her first trip to Malaysia, actually.

I took a shot of them walking down before baggage check, however, I forgot to turn off the flash!!! Which made Natalie looked up at the source of flash. HAHAHA..Oops! It was a really nice send off I would say. Mostly because of Natalie. I didn’t know she was leaving…what a waste I didn’t manage to get an autograph from her because I didn‘t prepare any pictures!! And also I regretted not talking more to her, mainly because I can’t think of what to ask. When we finally started having much to chat, she has to leave already!! HAIHZ.. However, I believe I’ll still have the chance to meet her in the future. She’s a very cute and sweet actress. She’s actually very petite…a little shorter than me! I wonder if she’s under Galey’s management too? Galey is really a nice manager…which is why all the artiste under her are really very friendly and nice too!

Anyone notice they are having two boarding passes with them? Its not a direct flight back to Hong Kong?? It's very obvious in Galey's picture. And look at Ron's clothings. HAHA. So casual! Also the brown paper bag Galey is carrying is Natalie's Pandan and durian cakes!

After that, after having a drink and sending Eunice off to the bus safely, I rushed for my flight too!! LOLS…Because they only left at around 4:50pm. Which meant they spent about 40 minutes with fans, which I enjoyed. HAHA. Hope to see them come here again soon! Phew!! Finish writing! HAHA…Hope you all enjoyed the post!! 22nd May 2010 Event - 'The Legend Is Born Ip-Man' Movie Promotion

Why would there suddenly be an event?? Well, I did not expected it too, until 22nd May 2010, around 12:30am. LOLS. I was chatting with Wai Wai on MSN regarding something else, totally nothing to do with this function and also chatting with Eunice(another friend from school). I was planning with Eunice to go to One Utama for a movie and then suddenly on the other window, Wai Wai told me that Bernice Liu will be coming for a function at One Utama on 22nd May. And I was like huh!? Really!!?? What a coincidence! And so I asked what event is that? And Wai Wai didn’t even know. LOL. She only knows Bernice will be there. So that’s when I have to do more research and found out she’ll be here for a movie promotion, [The Legend is Born-Ip Man]. This is not the Donnie Yen Ip-Man. And besides Bernice, other casts of the movie including Yuen Biu, Louis Cheung, Fan Siu Wong, Rose Chan and Dennis To Yu Hang will also be attending. Seems like this is a big event supported by the Malaysian government to promote Wing Chun (a form of Chinese martial art made prominent by Master Ip Man himself). Event starts at 3pm, thus bye to my movie plan and hello to another event! HAHA…very very last minute…reminds me of the Sherman and William function.

So I reached the event venue with my friend at around 1pm and not many people there yet actually. And also I have a feeling that not many people will know of the function as its not actually very heavily promoted. And considering this, Ip-Man 2 (Donnie Yen’s version) would probably outshine this version of Ip-Man. Its probably their technique to confuse the audience as a tool of promotion (to the organisers, this is an honest opinion from a blogger okay?) HAHA. Since its still so early, so we went for lunch. After lunch got back to event venue at around 2.30pm and waited. One of the reasons for not liking public events. HAHAHA..having to crowd with people and especially when you have little kids pushing beside you.

The casts arrived at around 3.30pm and I have to say, this must’ve been one of the most boring event I attended. HAHA. The gist of the event was mostly talking, talking and more talking. They played a little game on playing the Wing Chun kung fu, however it wasn’t much fun. Audience reaction was low too. Not much respond. HAHAHA. The only thing I enjoyed was listening to Louis Cheung singing a few verse of the theme song. Actually, I was wondering why is he there too? I think he did have a role in the movie, however he said that the main purpose for him to be here is the theme song, which I think he will be performing later in the evening during the gala dinner held at One World. For those wondering who is Louis, he is Kay Tse’s husband. He mainly composes songs, although he do have a few albums and he is also the host for TVB‘s ‘The Voice‘ together with Prudence Liew. So mostly throughout the event, it was picture time. I just shoot pictures over pictures…HAHAHA. I personally don’t like Bernice’s hair during the function. LOL. It looks weird!! So mainly throughout the event, they talked about the movie and their experiences while filming. So here is a video I took to share, and also some pictures!!

So after that, Wai Wai sms-ed me and said they will be heading to One World hotel. So me and my friend Eunice went over there and met up with them. After chatting and talking, we suddenly saw Rose Chan and Louis Cheung walking into the lobby! So we walked over, and actually we didn’t really know Rose Chan, however we managed to get Louis’ attention and took photos with him. And also got him to sign autographs on the movie posters which me and Eunice got from the event earlier. As Wai Wai and the rest got their photos first, after singing, the security guard actually wanted to stop us from getting anymore pictures. However, Louis was really nice. He told the guard, “Its okay.” And the guard backed-off LOLS..And me and Eunice took a photo with him, and the funny thing was before he took the photo, his hairstylist actually helped him style the back of his hair…we were laughing after that because only the front of Louis’ hair will be visible from the picture right? And yet, the hairstylist was styling the back of his head. HAHA. After that, we thanked Louis and he left into One World Ballroom, probably to rehearse.

Then after awhile, Rose and Louis came out again. Rose was just standing there but we all didn’t manage to utter anything out, because at that time, we didn’t know how to pronounce her name!! HAHAHA…so failed to ask anything from her. After walking back to lobby, somehow, we ended up deciding to go to Eastin Hotel where they are staying, So Okay, off we go to another place. LOLS.

We waited at Eastin Hotel and after awhile, we saw the Wing Chun Grand Master Ip-Chun. Ip-Chun is the eldest son of Ip-Man and he together with Bruce Lee was the person who spread the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu to the world. We went over and asked for autographs from him, and he was really okay with it! He could not be considered an artiste, but a martial art master suits him more. His student was following and when ’Sifu’ was signing I feel for him. He’s 85 years of age so he was having much trouble signing an autograph because he was shaking a lot. Then his student came and apologise to us and hope we wouldn’t mind it. Of course we didn’t!! We are happy enough he actually is willing to sign an autograph for us. His student told us, ’Sifu’ can perform Kung Fu, however signing autograph, that needs more effort. HAHA. After that, his student scribbled something on the poster, I guess its his autograph to prove the validity of the signature. Then we thanked them as they left. At about 6:30pm, Bernice came in to the lobby…I think she went for shopping and just returned. We wanted to ask for autographs or photos, however, we were blocked by the crew which stopped us. And so, we just saw Bernice walk pass up to the lift. So back to chatting, gossiping, bla bla while waiting for other artiste to come down.

The first to come down is Yuen Biu, looking all smart dressed in a coat and tie. I first spotted Yuen Biu and I was like telling the others, Hey! That’s Yuen Biu! And just continued sitting there for a few seconds until we realized, what are we doing sitting down!? Walk to him!! HAHAHA….So we walked to approach him, and typical, the crew said no pictures…and we were @&#@% in our hearts. Then we asked for autographs instead, and luckily they said autographs are allowed. So we got Yuen Biu to sign and he signed as if he’s writing calligraphy..hahaha…so I told him, “Wah hou leng.” (Nice signature) and he grinned. After done signing, he asked the crew, so how now? Where’s the car? And the crew said 7.30pm? And he looked into his watch and siad: “chat dim bun!!???gam, yam bui ye sin lar!” (7.30!? Then have a drink first!) So he walked off to the lobby café…. LOLS. Eunice and another friend wanted to try approach him for photo so they walked off and gave him sign languages asking for photos, however he pointed at the crew helplessly…LOLS.

Then we waited on and Louis Cheung came down. We rushed towards him and the security guards were pushing him forward. However, he stopped and told them he’ll take one picture. Then, one of my friend took one with him. Then, he got pushed away again, and he turned back and said, “ng hou yi si ar” (sorry about that)…so we nodded and then I shouted out to him, “nei hou ying ar” (you look very stylish!)…HAHAHA..and he smiled at that. LOLS. But indeed, he looked very stylish that night in a suit. HAHA. He somehow kinda reminds me of Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp’s character in Pirates of the Caribbean especially when he left a little beard for this function. I’m starting to feel Louis is so nice. He never refuse a picture with fans and even apologises. Very few artiste will do that. Then after that, Dennis To, Fan Siu Wong and Rose Chan came out and this time the guards were smart enough to use the opposite side so we didn’t have a chance to get an autograph or pictures from them. So who are we left with? Ms Liu of course. She came back at 630pm and everyone is waiting for her now in the car. So while waiting, suddenly one of us saw that Rose Chan was beside the road talking with a crew member. As I was a little frustrated by the crew members who kept blocking us, so I went forward and through the glass door window, I tried to catch her attention. The crew member which was talking to her saw me and asked Rose to look around. Then I gestured to her with my poster and pen, asking for an autograph. And Rose nodded and said Okay. So Yay, I asked the rest to follow me out. When I reach out the security guard started blocking me. I wanted to pass by but he stretch out his arms blocking me. I was like..WTH! I told him Rose said its okay for me to go! And he shook his head and said no! Then Rose saw me being blocked and she walked over and told the guard, “bei kui la!” (let her through). Then the guard walk aside and Rose came forward and took the poster from me and she saw the concierge counter and said, “li bin lar” (this way) so that she can sign on a solid surface. While she signed the first poster we then quietly asked her can we take a group picture with you? And Rose was like, “Ar…li goh ar? Yiu man kui dei wor…“ (this, have to ask them). So she asked the crew who was talking to her just now, “wei, kui dei man ho em ho yi ying cheung siong wor?” (hey, they asked if they could take pictures?). Then we quickly added in, a group picture and the crew also agreed, yes okay a group photo. So yay! We got to take a picture with her…HAHAHA. I’m glad that I took the guts to approach her personally haha. Seems like she’s kinda nice too. And she’s young. If I’m not mistaken she’s 17 years old. LOLS. We then thanked her and walked back into the lobby. Sometimes I wonder what are the security guys sooo afraid of? We are actually decent fans only asking for autographs/photos then we’ll just leave the artsite alone. Not as if we’ll harm them!!

We actually waited quite awhile more before Bernice came out. I think the crews were also waiting and about to the level of complaining on her lateness. We were also having the mindset that we won’t be able to get an autograph/picture because she’ll probably be rushing down. She finally came down around 8pm and true enough, she rushed out. We managed to shout her name Bernice!! And she turned around and said a hello and waved to us (Wai Wai didn‘t manage to shout her name because her mouth was filled with the cheesecake she was eating halfway when Bernice came out. HAHAHA). And once she got up the car the car rushed straight off to function. LOL!

Where we went next then?? Back to One Utama for dinner! HAHA. After dinner, we went to peek around One World hotel ballroom. I looked into the dinner function, and it seemed kinda boring LOLS. We did some shopping, well mostly Wai Wai and Aiko did…hahaha..then we went back to Eastin hotel. Not long, Louis Cheung came back. He’s the first to come back. And he naturally stopped when he went in the lobby allowing us to take pictures. The people around him which I am wondering who, was very kind they just stepped aside while Louis attended to us. They were probably from his record company. I would say Louis looked very tired after the event…HAHA. His face just looked sleepy and tired. It must’ve been a boring event for him. Maybe that’s why he came back early. LOL. Then after that when I was helping Wai Wai to take a picture, I joked to Louis, “Yeng zai, fan lei lar?” (Stylish/smart guy, youre back already?) HAHA…and again he smiled. LOLS. So after that I took a picture with him. Then he was about to walk when my friend Eunice asked, “May I?” and Louis was like, “Yeah, sure!” I was about to laugh out at that. HAHA. Then we thanked him and he started walking with his bunch of crew and one of us asked in Cantonese, “when will you be leaving?” He said, “tomorrow.” “what time?”…”Not sure..have to ask them…” Then I think they told him afternoon. So he said, “not sure of the time, but afternoon.” We then said ok and thanked him and waved bye to him and I added, “come more to Malaysia!” before he left.

After that, we waited on and not long, Bernice came back. We walked forward and when I reached her, she was talking with Peng (another friend) which I didn’t know about what. But she was waking fast pass us and I shouted if I could get an autograph from you? But I think she didn’t heard it. Candy (her manager) noticed though, however, she didn’t do anything to stop Bernice. Then after Bernice went up the elevator, we asked Peng what did Bernice said? And she said, Bernice said that the organisers do not allow photos to be taken throughout the functions. After hearing that, we were thinking, “what did Louis did just now then?” Was that a mere excuse or should we give her the benefits of the doubt? After that, next to return was Fan Siu Wong, Yuen Biu and Rose Chan. We didn’t bother Rose as she already did signed and took photos with us earlier, so we went to ask from Fan Siu Wong instead. At first he didn’t want to take any photos, so we took out the poster and asked him to sign and he said he’s okay with autographs. After that, while he’s signing, we asked if we could take a group picture? After thinking through, he said Okay, I’ll take a group photo. Then his hairstylist took the camera from Wai Wai and snapped the picture ‘very not sincerely’. Then he left and when we looked at the picture, it looked blur. HAIHZ. As to Yuen Biu, I didn’t saw him, however the rest said they saw him walked in and refused photos. After loitering around lobby area longer, I spotted Bernice. She came down again and was chatting with one of the crew. So me and Eunice went forward and Eunice asked if she could get an autograph. Then Bernice was okay with it and signed. While signing the second poster, I asked her in English, “Did you do any shopping?” and Bernice replied with her Canadian accent..LOL, “In the middle….we did a lot of interviews.”..then she was looking for her picture in the poster as it was dark, thus I pointed at her image and told her, “You’re here.” And she signed at the spot. While signing, someone tried to take photos, and Bernice was like, “em hou ying siong” (do not take photos). GEEZ!!! I wonder if it really is any big deal with a photo anyway? Then Peng asked her if she’ll be coming back tomorrow? And Bernice answered, “ngoh wooi fan, em hai ting yat fan” (I’ll be back, not tomorrow). And we were confused with her answer…I think she thought we asked if she’ll be coming back to hotel later. HAHA. Then after Bernice walked out and the thing that made us mad was that we saw her taking pictures with the crew members outside!! So what’s with you saying no pictures allowed throughout the function eh?? Rose and Fan Siu Wong also came down and they left for supper too. No pictures or anything because the security guard blocked anyone from approaching them. After they left, it could be considered end of event. Its already midnight by this time and Dennis To did not appear. Like what Eunice told me, he may have gone to visit his mum’s family since his mum is Malaysian or probably met up with the rest somewhere else.

Conclusion from the event: One of the most boring stage event and also Surprising! I did not expect Louis to be humble and nice when I first saw him on stage. Turns out he’s really nice and courteous. Thus, Don’t judge a book by its cover! Watching through the tv screen and experiencing it in a life one-to-one experience is a totally different thing! Joey Yung talks about kissing Raymond Lam

Seems like ages since I last updated. HAHA. Past week, Joey was filming in Beijing with Charlene Choi, Raymond Lam & Wong Cho Lam etc. And she's finally back this week and during Yahoo! Commercial awards function yesterday, she spoke about her experience filming a kissing scene with Raymond for movie Emerald and the Pearl.

I personally could not imagine Joey with Raymond!! HAHA...I'd rather see Joey with Cho Lam! LOLS....I usually like Ming Pao/On.CC news clips as you can hear the interaction between Joey and the reporters. Its hillarious when Joey wanted to describe a 'passionate, fiery kiss' but could not find a suitable word for it and used body gestures instead. LOL!

Looking forward to the movie! I'm finally done with my assignments for the semester! Yeah!!! However, I'm having exams coming soon! Saddening...Have to start studying soon!

P.S Joey hasn't been singing for quite some time now because she's still resting her throat. She got a growth on her throat which caused her voice to become hoarse. However, she said she's feeling better already after doing acupuncture in Nanking. However, we'll see her singing less for the coming months. I feel its a good thing to rest her vocal chords since she's going to have a major concert in HK Colliseum coming November! Rest well Joey!

25th April, Event 3: William Chan & Sherman Chung Music Is Live Concert

Final event to blog about! HAHAHA…..Have to finish up all the blogging because tomorrow onwards, I have to go back to studies!!! Still have around 2 months till semester ends!! Okay, so where am I now? Oh yea, in the LRT station…LOLS. So from there, we took the LRT to KL Sentral. And our plan was to get from KL Sentral change another train to Times Square, get our car and get to KL Life Centre. All that in 30 minutes?? WOW…seems a little impossible..and also considering we do not know where KL Life Centre is!! HAHAHA…So, after talking to my mum on the phone, change of plans, we took a cab from KL Sentral straight to KL Life Centre. And wow, indeed we made it in time. HAHA. Fated, fated. Once we got to KL Life centre, I met with Mr Poh and then that was when I realized the concert was a free standing concert…..!!! I never like free standing concerts!!! And also because I’m carrying my DSLR, so considering there were already many people crowding front area at that time, I won’t be able to get any good shots! So I told Mr Poh I have a camera with me, and Mr Poh was understanding enough to get us media seats! Wow, many thanks to him!!

At first, media seats was at the top level of the venue. However, later on it was changed to front of stage below! So I got a very clear and best view…which made me ended up taking like 500 over pictures??? However, its impossible to post them all up here! LOLS. The concert actually didn’t start until after 830pm. And while waiting, KC, Paul and Hazel went off to get Hung Fook Tong drinks without letting me know…hahaha I didn’t realise they were missing. And they later on came back with I guess half a dozen bottles of Hung Fook Tong American Ginseng drink. Luckily they bought it, because its cold and refreshing…something I need at that time after rushing here and there. LOLS. And it actually taste quite good! A new brand of drink that I can buy in the future. HEHE.

So, concert started off with the two main band members singing two tracks, one of them ‘kwong faai sui yuet’ from Beyond. And they do have strong and nice vocals! Then concert officially starts with William and Sherman appearing singing the karaoke favourite duet ‘my memory is not mine’ originally by Vincy and Ocean. Then after that, William was left on stage to sing a fast track, ‘Taxi’ and also a ballad which if I‘m not mistaken is ‘Finally admit wrong today‘ . And fans started screaming when William did his ’Taxi’ dance…LOLS. While me, took pictures to my heart’s desire. HAHAHA…He even did the moonwalk!! His dance was indeed very energetic and entertaining! Here’s a clip KC took of Taxi and the dance plus more pictures I got~ HEHE

Then, it was Sherman’s turn. She appeared with a new blue blouse and stripped leggings and sang a fast track, ‘Let’s Pop’ and the audience cheered and screamed as she appeared. And thanks to KC too for taking down a video. Save me the effort to elaborate. HAHA. After she finished that, she said, “William sang a fast song, how could she not sing one too!?” and the audience cheered. LOLS. She then sang another song, which was very familiar to me…LOL…Joey’s ‘心花怒放!! KC took a video of it too! HAHAHA…and I heard her say ‘Cho Yee’ at the beginning of the clip. LOL. And if you noticed, Sherman actually went over to my side and posed for me to get pictures of her while she was dancing. HAHA. I’m actually wearing pink and walking around with the camera if you could spot me in the clips. LOLS. Very nice of her^^ And that’s how I got so many close up shots of her with the blue dress…Back to the song, I’m probably too used to listening Joey singing 心花怒放, so I tend to compare..LOLS. Sherman could sing the vocal well, however, still lacks the feel that Joey could bring out when she sings this song. Its not easy to be able to bring out the feel of the song. Singing vocally is one thing, but being able to carry the song and mean what you sing is another matter. After two fast tracks, Sherman then sang another song of hers which I love very much, which is a ballad titled 野百合.

Then William came out again with a new costume…hehehe… I love how the concert is simple and yet very entertaining. He sang his new song ‘dai hap kuk’ (Grand Canyon) and followed by another dancing song ‘Do You Wanna Dance’. After singing his songs, he said he’ll be singing Monica by Leslie Cheung to the delight of my mum and cheers from the audience. And he sang it really well, I shall say. HAHA.

Then Sherman reappeared with another blue dress and red boots. And more duets from them! They sang ‘yat si mou sing’ originally by Stephanie and Pakho, which I feel was a very good rendition from them. If only I had the video! HAHA…however, look at these shots from them while singing the song. They handled the song well and Hazel and KC enjoyed it a lot (I know)…hahaha. After that, they sang a mandarin number, ’xiao jiu wo’ originally by JJ Lin and Charlene Choi. In my opinion, Sherman sang Charlene’s part better than William with JJ’s part. Its just not William’s type of song. HAHA.

Then after that, William left the stage to Sherman. Sherman then said she’ll be singing a song that people first recognized her from. At that time, she said people only know her song and referred to her as ‘that tanned skin singer who sang the song ‘hou hou yung pou’(hug well). Then the audience cheered and she sang the song. After that, Sherman sang ‘八十之後’(After eighty), a song I’m starting to like now! Love the melody and meaning of the song. KC took a video of it~

Then William’s turn again! Again, new costume!! Black jacket and white shirt inside…look so ‘yeng’…hahaha. He said at first, he was thinking whether to wear this jacket or not? LOLS…He then sang an Aaron Kwok song which I forgot what was the title. it’s a very famous Aaron fast track….and after that, he sang ‘战士’ and I love this dance!! When William pulled up his shirt, revealing his packs and chest area, the audience(especially the girls) screamed out loud…hahaha….I love these pictures taken from the dance…they all look so cool and stylish!

Then its Sherman’s turn again as William left!! And we saw the concert crew carrying in a keyboard and that’s when the audience starts cheering~ WOW, Sherman hasn’t even appeared and they knew its time for ‘A letter to myself’ already…HAHAHA. Then Sherman appeared and get ready with the keyboard. However, there seems to be a problem with the mic stand. The stand was not tight, thus the microphone kept sliding down. She then very cutely asked if anyone could help her with it? However no one did came at first, so she managed to set it up to her mouth level herself. Before she started the song, she said she’ll be very sad if the audience didn’t know the song. HAHA…so she started and once she started her first key, the audience started cheering out loud already. Here’s a video KC took of it. And observe how Sherman handled the situation with the mic problem. She handled it really well and instead of making the whole situation awkward, she managed to make the situation funny and cute instead. HAHA. Good work there, Sherman! And remember I said about singing is not only vocals but also carrying it and meaning what you sing? Well, in ‘A letter to myself’, Sherman had the complete whole. There is no need for many words to describe it, by just observing how the audience naturally cheered and clapped in synchrony to the song already proves what I mean by it. it’s a natural reaction from the audience if a singer could carry all three elements together into his/her singing. Thus, its not necessarily a fast song which could arouse the audience, even a ballad like this could give out that effect too. Sherman received the loudest applause and cheers that night for ‘a letter to myself’.

Then after that, Welcoming William again!!! HEHEHE..he took off his jacket now and they both thanked the audience and organisers before singing ‘sei xing bat goi’ originally by Boyz and Twins. Then, they ended the concert with another Joey song ‘yuet cheong yuet keung’…Joey did mentioned its William’s favourite song of hers. HAHAHA….They also came down to shake hands with the audience. LOLS. That’s when I managed to get these two shots below. HAHA…

There wasn’t any encore though, although the audience did shout for one. HAHA. So after that me, KC, Hazel and Paul together with my mum, we were planning to get a taxi back to Times Square already. However, we sort of wanted to wait and see if Sherman and William will come out so we could sort of take pictures and express our support to them. We said we were gangs of fans one from Singapore, one from Guangzhou and two from Penang!! HAAHHA…However, I think we waited at the wrong exit..and didn’t manage to meet them. Too bad~ However, we did manage to take a picture with the band members. They really have good voice and potential. All the best to them!

As to Sherman and William, I personally too think they have a bright future in the industry. Sherman surprised me with her live vocals and very pleasant personality and showmanship, while William has the attractive dancing skills and good charming looks..HAHA. He just needs to improve on stronger vocals and he’ll do fine. All the best to the two of them and looking forward to seeing them more in Malaysia!! Next thing I have to do now is to get Sherman’s album…(which I already asked Hazel mui to help me get one from Hong Kong)LOLS! Hazel Mui, remember ya!!!

So that’s the end of my fully packed and eventful 2 day weekend!!! HAHAHA…Looking back, its amazing how we managed to cramp so many events into 2 days! LOLS..no wonder I still felt sleepy 2 weeks after the event! HAHAHA. Thanks to all my readers reading through all the posts!!! 25th April, Event 2: Charmaine KLIA Send Off

So, rushing rushing from Times Square to KLIA!! And we were all cramped into Jo Pao’s car….wow…Estima fitting I think 11 of us? LOLS….what an achievement! However, thanks to Jo Pao for driving us to KLIA!! Big gratitude! When we arrived at KLIA we were actually too early, instead of afraid of being late. We actually waited at KLIA for almost an hour before Charmaine came. So late to the extend that I was going to ask the check-in counter lady if Charmaine already checked in? HAHA…when I was about to do that, Charmaine then arrived. HEHE.

Charmaine was talking on the phone when she entered. After that she walked over with Tina and Tina said they’ll go check in first. So we just followed her and then Hazel asked me to take pictures while walking, however I feel its so awkward to do so, before someone pushed me forward, I think its Hazel or KC!! And Charmaine looked at me with a weird look, like, “what are you doing?” kinda look…LOLS. Haha, don’t worry I’m not a crazy fan..LOLS..So they went to check in and suddenly Jo Pao’s brother handed Charmaine some gifts. And Charmaine accepted it and thanked his little brother. Its packs of Bak Kut Teh. Haha. So we just stood there and waited for them to check in. I didn’t take any pictures here because she’s facing the check in counter, so there’s nothing much to take anyway. Actually, I didn’t take any other pictures in KLIA!! LOLS…because the only picture I took was of all the fans with her!! And I’m not going to disclose any pictures of them here in my blog. LOLS. Well, I saw KC took some pictures using my camera, so I could just show you all some pictures from there…HAHA. However the pics are blurry…bad photographer lar u KC!!

So after check in, Charmaine walked to an area and was looking for a spot to take pictures. She finally found a place with chairs and then sat there to take pictures. I used my camera to take pics for all the fans, and it was kinda dark at that area and Charmaine asked me, “Its so dark here, can the pictures turn out good?”. Well I tried a shot, and it is indeed dark. So I had to use flash..no choice la…better then asking her to go stand at another place. LOLS. So after taking photos with her then its signing autograph time. And Tina came and said only one autograph per person…….swt….Okay, so I got her to sign a picture and also others all got her to sign their stuff too. After that, I saw I had one of those Astro On Demand books with all the artiste’s faces on it..so I handed it to her to let her sign too. And she signed it and was giggling…..I wonder why….Then Tina was wondering too so she sort of asked her why? And she whispered something to Tina..however I could not hear what it was..so I got no idea.

Then after all the signing, Charmaine then took out her Iphone and took a picture of the Sam Hou cake…which is the one she later posted at her Weibo. Then she started getting ready to leave and said thanks to us then all fans were following her to the security check area. Which I was not too enthusiastic about after so many events chasing already..hahaha. They wished her ’yat lou shun fung’ and she said bye to all of us and went down the escalator to the security check in area. So, bye bye Charmaine!!!

And phew~ all Charmaine’s events done!! What a relieve. LOLS. We then had a group photo of fans and after all that, it was around 545pm after Charmaine left, so we ended up sitting at KFC for dinner and also to eat the cake. The time there was fun though, and I enjoyed spending time with all the fans, chatting nonsense. HAHA. I had to rush for Sherman and William’s concert after that, and we only left at around 630pm from KLIA to an LRT station nearby Jo Pao’s house and we reached the LRT station at around 730pm..concert starts at 8!!! Thus, this starts another super super rush journey to a William and Sherman event…I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to reach there in time, and also my mum’s already waiting for me there at the KL Life Centre, however, fate again? HAHAHAHA…Stay tuned for the final event post!! Sherman and William, Music is Live concert!!!

Oh yea, and on a side note, last night, well should be this morning, I was sharing my blog post at Sherman Forum…so I created a thread at the fan videos page to share some videos I took from the concert and also my blog post at Kajang event. So after I’m done with the posting and went back to the forum home page, I scrolled down to see who was online in the forum. And to my surprise I saw Sherman herself was there…HAHAHA. So I mouse over her name and WOW, she’s at the thread I just posted in! HAHAHA…I screen capped it…LOLS:

I suspect she read it considering there was only 2 new post and both were on the Malaysia concert. I posted my blog link on the post there, and after that I saw that my blog had 3 online readers…….LOLS…what are the odds that its her reading?? LOLS, well yes or no, it’s a good thing for her to at least know that she has fans from Malaysia! Hope she comes more to Malaysia!

25th April, Event 1: Charmaine Sheh Skinz Infinite Meet & Greet at Berjaya Times Square

After just a few hours of sleep…another busy morning. HAHA. First, went to pick up the cake we made for Charmaine from the cake house. I asked Sehseh to help me gather fans at Times Square at 1230pm because I wouldn’t be reaching too early. I’m afraid collecting the cake too early, by the time its around 230pm, the icing would have all melted. HAHA. So I collected the cake at around 11am. And I took the cake home…that was when Hazel noticed something wrong with the cake!! HAHAHAHA. As the cake is of a Chibi image of Lau Sam Hou, there was a mistake in the wordings Lau Sam Hou!! HAHAHA. The ‘sam’ was written as ‘heart’ instead of ‘three’!!! I didn’t realise the mistake at all if not for Hazel pointing it out!! HAAHA…well, eventually, we took the cake back to the cake house to get it altered. Luckily we still had time and also the alteration was just a small one.

After done with cake, off we went to Berjaya Times Square. And during the trip, just because I was a little late, phone calls and SMS kept bugging me non-stop from fans asking me where to meet and where I was….LOL. And because I was driving, it was so hard for me to answer any calls, thus my mum had to help me reply all the calls. LOLS. And furthermore, I got a little lost in KL…luckily not a major lost..just extra of a few turnings. HEHE.

Once we got to Times Square event area, everything seems so messy. LOLS. I first went to look for Chris from Unza (Skinz) to hand the cake to them. Then, she gave us stickers to allow us to enter the event area, she seems so busy....well, of course she is. HAHA. I then met up with Sehseh and the other fans who were there already and got them the fan club banners. After that, me and Hazel stayed at the backstage area to take care of the cake and also to take photos. Charmaine didn’t arrive until around 215pm, thus we had around 30 minutes of backstage fun with a few of the event crew. LOLS. There’s one who has the same surname as me which is ‘Lau', yes similar to Sam Hou. HEHE…and they were all really friendly people. Which is one of the thing that I’m happy with for these round of events…the organisers. Both, from Unza and Jazzygroup, they were all really helpful and friendly.

After playing lots of crazy things such as faking interview with the cameraman and talking silly stuff, such as discussing Hazel’s resemblance to Wang Lee Hom….kekeke…Charmaine finally arrive. So standby, camera! HAHAHA…Charmaine wore a black dress to the event that day. So once she got up stage, me and Hazel mui went over to the front of stage to take photos. HEHE. I was too busy taking pictures which I did not 100% caught what Charmaine said at the event…hahaha. I think I heard she said she’ll be acting with Raymond soon as a mentally challenged girl, having 8 years old mentality? And something about Moses too…LOLS. And she also said that she asked for like 20 boxes of Skinz products and she’s going to share them all with her friends back in Hong Kong…LOLS. Then after that, Charmaine signed the big backdrop board and was presented with the new brand poster and a flower basket by the MD of Unza Malaysia. Then, it was group photo time with all the crew management people and VIP guests. Here’s some pictures to share!!

After all the photo taking, the autograph session started, which is when me and Hazel mui had to go backstage to prepare the cake. HAHA. After placing a candle onto the cake, that was when I realise, hey, we haven’t taken a picture of the cake!! HAHAHA. So here’s a picture of the cake!

At backstage, again we were playing around with the crew that we almost forgot to hear the prompt from the MC. LOLS. Luckily, we did pay attention and heard the prompt from the MC when he said something like, “Malaysia fans has something prepared for you….”. So me and Hazel mui carried the cake upstage and when Charmaine saw the cake, she was really happy with it! HEHE. Other fans then managed to got up stage, to my relieve, because at first, I couldn’t locate them before I took the cake up! HAHAHA. I was wondering where were they! And oh ya, before that I managed to meet Wai Wai again too at the event, and she helped us to take pictures from below stage. I haven’t receive any pictures yet though….ahem..haha.

So back upstage, the MC asked Charmaine if its her first cake that she received this trip? And she said, “No, there’s one yesterday too, however this one is different, because this cake has ‘me’ on it”. LOLS. Then after that she took up the cake for the press to take pictures of it and that’s when the MC asked us to help her hold the heavy cake….LOLS. He said, “how could you let your idol carry such a heavy cake all by herself?” LOLS…so a few of us help supported the cake. And Charmaine held the cake so high up until it seems to be almost 90 degreees!! I was so afraid the whole cake would just slip off from its tray!!! HAHHAHAA….Luckily, it didn’t happen. And the cream of the cake even caught on Charmaine’s hand and she practically licked it off right on the spot!! LOLS…After that, Charmaine then made a wish and blew the candle.

Then, Charmaine told me she wants to take a picture. So I said okay, and she held the cake up and posed for me to take a picture of her. After taking one, I showed her on the LED screen, and asked if its okay? Then she said, “Take another shot.” So that’s how there’s two shots of it. HAHA. After taking the second shot, she looked at it then after that again the press wants to take picture of the cake so she then posed for the press with the cake. HAHA. Then, she cut the cake, and before cutting, she was thinking where should she cut it…she didn’t want to destroy the Sam Hou picture so she cut the side which was plain. HAHAHA…if you look at the picture Charmaine later posted at her weibo (yes Charmaine has a weibo account now, and her first weibo is of the cake), you can spot the cut mark, although she tried to avoid including it. HAHA.

So after that, we all went back down stage and started to get ready to leave for KLIA. And then Tina came over to me and thanked me for the cake...(to my surprise...hahahaha) However, there was a sense of satisfaction from me after hearing that..(satisfaction, not happiness..ahem..to those fans close enough to me will know what I mean) After collecting back the cake, we wanted to go off but we ended up being further bugged by reporters for more pictures of the cake. HAHA. And then also, I heard of Sehseh losing her phone and camera! Ouch….her mood must have been ruined!! Pickpockets, haihz…….Reminder to everyone attending for any events in the future, carry a bag with many layers of zip!!! So after that, we rushed to the next venue, KLIA to send off Charmaine!! Phew, so rushed eh? HAHA…Stay tuned for next post!!

24th April, Event 3: Amit First Live Concert in Malaysia

Amit Concert was one that I was looking forward to since months ago!! For this post, there will be no clips and images because my attempt in taking pictures failed when the security guys stopped me from doing so…..Haihz…typical of concerts. I’ll just post few images I found on the internet. There’s very little of them to, because they all probably got caught too!

Okay, after Kajang (I actually went to buy satay too) I went back to my house and then left after dinner at around 715pm to Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil. I managed to reach at around 755pm LOLS and met with Wai Wai and Aiko at the entrance (they went to watch the concert too). When me and my mum entered the venue, the concert already started!!!! Actually we could have gone in earlier, however we were hunting for washroom that’s why we ended up late. LOLS. Amit started the concert by singing the self titled song ‘Amit’ not to my surprise as that was what I predicted. Amit’s vocals really is flawless. Her voice is powerful, clear and strong! Her first costume reminded me of those characters of the ‘Vierra’ in Final Fantasy XII, for those who plays the game should have an idea what I mean. HAHA. Except, its Vierra with wings because Amit attached two maybe 2 metres high white wings on her back…HAHA.

After that, she sang some songs which was unfamiliar to me……mostly rock songs……its surprising as at the beginning of the concert, it was already so fast and rock-ish! And the audience were screaming like crazy…the rock songs went on and well, I do not know most of the songs though, because I actually enjoy Amit(A-mei’s) ballads better. After like 15 minutes of unkown songs…hahaha…she finally sang ‘Split Life’(fen sheng) which I love very much from her Amit album.

After that, more rock songs…it seems like the rock songs are never ending. And if its rock and I’m familiar with the songs, then it wouldn’t be that bad, however rock, loud and unfamiliarity made me enjoy the concert less. Not to mention the loud screaming from the audience and there was one who screamed his lungs out that my mum had to practically clasp her hand over her ears whenever he screams!!

Things got better though, when Amit sang the song Nessum Dorma from Puccini’s opera, Turandot. Her powerful vocals are impressive here and she proved her versatility by being able to manage a soprano piece. After through so many tracks of songs, it bothered me that she didn’t change to a new constume, to the point I asked my mum, ‘why is she not changing still?’. There were many occasions where the light dimmed and I thought she was going to change costumes, however when the lights went back on, she just appeared the same and sang more rock songs. She finally did change though, and she came out and interacted wirh audience. The audience were so loud that night that she asked them if they ate Herbal/Chicken Soup/Bak Kut Teh before they came, that’s why they could scream so loud? HAHA. During this session, she implied that she will be singing her ‘si jie’(A-mei’s) songs because there isn’t enough Amit songs to finish a concert. So she sang ‘wo ke yi bao ni ma’ (one of my favourite song!) and to my anticipation! However, the audience sang along so loudly that Amit got so touched that she just left the audience singing through almost the whole song! Well, one, its nice to see the audience singing along, but it’s a pity that I couldn’t hear one of my favourite song sang completely by her!! She then took requests from audience and sang other ‘excerpts’ of A-mei’s song such as ‘Ting Hai’, ‘Ji De’ and ‘Zian Ai’…all the songs I love from her, however she only sang it acoustically without music accompaniment and also only the chorus, to my dismay!! From my memory, the only ballad A-Mei song she sang completely was ‘ku bu chu lai’.

After that, she went back into fast mode and sang rock styles of her fast (A-mei) tracks such as ’wei duo li ya de mi mi’, ‘yong yuan de kuai le’ and Bad Boy. I didn’t really like the rearrangements into rock though. And at this stage, its annoyingly a pain to my ears because I’m not used to super loud (and I mean really really loud) music. The loudness of the music thumps your heart and blurs your ears!! And the screaming audience were not helping at all! There were actually no more other slow songs/ballads after this session!! How disappointing!! The only songs that I know after this was ’diao le’, ’chai hong’ and ’kai men jian shan’ all from the Amit album. She ended the concert with ‘san tian san ye’ if I’m not mistaken. HAHA.

There’s nothing much left for me to say, seriously. I could not consider myself as enjoying her concert, considering I do not like the Rock genre!!! However, I do enjoy her vocals and that’s the only thing. The choreography, rundown and arrangement of songs for the concert was not up to my expectation at all. The singer I like is A-mei and not Amit. That’s a simple word for me to describe the reason to my feelings. Meeting Wai Wai the next day, she had the exact same thought too. I wonder how many of the audience would have felt so if both of us had similar thoughts? Thus, conclusion, if Amit were to come for another concert, would I attend? Answer, BIG NO. However, if A-mei were to come for another concert, would I attend? DEFINITELY! I'm already starting to miss A-mei.......I should have gone to the concert last year when she was still A-mei...

I only felt it after everything ended where I felt sleepy for the whole week! For the next day, I have another three more event!! Alright I’m back! Hahaha…Similar in this post, click images to enlarge. Okay, so driving to Kajang~ I’m actually not very sure of the way to go to MetroPoint in Kajang!! However, I did looked at the google map a day before. LOLS. So we left KLIA and I drove along highway while my mum expressed her dissatisfaction……LOLS

Then, under stress driving and also a little lost in highway…I suddenly heard a loud sound from the back of my car!!!! So I pulled over beside the highway and OMG~ If things were not already bad….flat tyre…….However, I consider myself really lucky that I have people with me and also fortunately it happened just right beside a rest area!!! Although I already overshot the rest area, however, I still managed to reverse back into the rest area from the exit…if you know what I mean?? LOLS…Then under the scorching sun, we have to go fix tyre…luckily my mum managed to ask help from a guy there and he helped us out in changing the tyre.

After all that done, I actually just planned to forget about Sherman & William…LOLS. Because I was thinking nah, won’t be able to make it in time anyway since its already around 3pm. So my plan was just to go Kajang and get satay to eat and probably look for a car workshop….LOLS. So after tyre fixing done, I drove on and hmm…suddenly the signboard wrote Kajang…ooh so I’m not lost anymore now…hahaha.

So I drove and actually I didn’t know which Kajang exit I should take….so I just simply exit into one of the Kajang exit at the highway. I’m actually not familiar with Kajang’s road at all!! Because this should only be my 3rd time driving in Kajang and the other two times was only going to the same place to get satay. MetroPoint Kajang, I have no idea where that place is. So once in Kajang town, I just randomly drove around…and then this is when fate starts taking its place…LOLS.

I took random junctions and miraculously I ended up in front of MetroPoint Kajang……..Hahahah…I didn’t know how did that happen! And even more scary…I looked into the clock on my car desktop….3:30pm sharp!!! There was a jam around MetroPoint area and again, fated, I found a parking space because another car just left…..HAHAHA. So after parking we went into the shopping centre….and again fated (this is starting to get scary)………once I stepped into the event area, I heard the MC(Myfm DJ Nicholas) announcing, “Fun Ying Loi Ji Hong Kong ge, Chung Shu Man!!!” (Welcoming, all the way from Hong Kong, Sherman Chung!)…….And then Sherman came out and said hello to the audience and sang ‘Letter to myself’ (one of my favourite song)…Okay, how scary was that? HAHAHA….And we were just standing right in the front because it wasn’t too crowded and most audience got to sit. I guess I was mistaken as media in this event..LOLS. Okay, before continuing, some pictures of Sherman which I love…I like the ‘feel’ of these shots…

Talking about Joey!!

Humble of her..hahaha…never thought of one day becoming like Joey^^

Sherman’s live singing was much better than what I expected. Because from previous watching her sing in JSG Awards and stuff, she doesn’t sing very well…So before this event, I have very little expectation from her live singing. However, she surprised me by showcasing her strong and powerful vocals! Furthermore, the Sherman I expected to meet was to be tall and selling a little sex appeal (thanks to EEG shaping her that way). However, again she surprised me by being very petite (I found out she‘s only same height as me! Hahaha…that‘s like 164cm..I‘m short!), sweet and actually a little conservative. For beauty, I would not say she’s super pretty, however she has a very natural and pleasant personality that makes her very likeable. I guess that’s what Mani means by “gun jong yuen” (fate with audience). And I love her tan skin!! LOLS….I wonder why people criticizes her for being dark last time! I love her skin colour! LOLS~ The short hair also makes her look very cute! I’m happy with her new image here, glad EEG lifted the stereotype placed on her to be a dancing singer!

Alright, after all that, William came up stage! HAHA…..and all the girls beside me went crazy started shouting, ‘hou leng zai arr!!!aaahhhh!! (very handsome). Oh my gosh………..LOLS. The category of fans that I do not fancy..LOLS. William then greeted the fans in Malay hehe. He said, ’apa khabar, nama saya Chan Wai Ting’ (with much effort). Here’s a video of it!

Then, they started the game session. Nicholas announced that it’s a dancing game…that is when all fans shunned from putting up their hands to play! LOLS…which ended up needing the two of them to go down stage to grab people up! Pictures~

The game was actually not easy…considering myself, I would probably look like a hypo dancing on stage ~ hahaha~ but then well, they wouldn’t care if you could dance or not..LOLS. Girls dance with William while guys dance with Sherman. I’m impressed with the girls who managed to dance William’s moves quite well! Picture~ Picture~ William’s shot dancing here looks really cute..hehe

Then Sherman’s turn. She did a kind of slight pole dancing style of dancing. LOLS. Imagine the guys trying to do that! HAHAHA…and notice the guy beside her in the picture below..While Sherman was demonstrating her dance moves (she repeated it around 3 times)…when she reached a particular step, her sharp high heeled boots would always almost rest on top of the guy’s feet!! She didn’t realise because she was not facing the poor guy… LOLS..and the guy kept avoiding her boots until the third time, Sherman then realized and apologized to him! HAHAHA….I think the audience laughed seeing the guy avoiding which made Sherman realized and told the guy, “Aiya, sorry! Ngoh ge gou zhang hai em hai chai dou nei ge keuk ah?” And the guy shyly nodded…LOLS. Cute scene. Which KC did not record!!!! Because she pressed the wrong button!! HAHAHA. Pictures then~

Okay, after that Sherman left the stage and William sang! And this is the part which made me ‘kek sei’ after I went home to view the videos!! William sang ‘Do You Wanna Dance’ and ‘Dai Hap Kuk’ both his new songs. Love his dancing!!! And in the video (during the part William went down to shake hands), I spotted Sherman among the audience sitting down watching William sing!! OMG, I was focusing on taking pictures of William that I didn’t realise Sherman was just beside!! It didn’t cross my mind that Sherman would do anything like that too, because usually artiste would just hide in their tents. Haihz…I should have just walked over to get a picture with her. I only saw her sitting at the audience area after William’s singing and I did went over to try to get a picture, however too many fans were crowding around her already which made the organiser chased her back into the tent…too bad….Here’s William’s singing part and the Sherman-spotted part. LOLS. And some pictures after that. There’s one of William waving into my camera!!! *heart beat raised a million times while taking that shot, couldn’t press the shutter steadily!!*…….HAHAHA…okay, I know, so dramatic….LOLS….

After that, autograph session time~ Oh, and this is the part where Mr. Poh come into the picture. I have to thank Mr. Poh for all the Sherman and William function. He is the organiser for their tour, (Hung Fook Tong health drinks). And he’s really nice to offer me tickets to their concert tomorrow evening so that I could blog about it for you all~ HEHE. I went over to Hung Fook Tong booth and managed to meet Mr. Poh and got the concert tickets. His workers were also really nice people and I chatted with them a little. After that, I saw Sherman’s album on sale. I wanted to buy one, but then for stupid reasons at the moment, I didn’t get one!! Oh no, I regret now!!! And William’s too (I'll go get them anyway~HEHE)! I’m not sure if its Malaysian version or HK version, but my friend from HK, did asked me to help her get one if its Malaysian version. However, I did get autographs from them because they sign posters too. I got William to sign his old album I had, the ‘Warrior’ album. And when William saw it, his reaction was, “Eeehhh??” …hahaha. I didn’t really stayed much with William because then I went over to Sherman…HAHA…what a bad fan (don't get me wrong, I do fancy him too~)…I shook hands with Sherman and told Sherman I love her song ’A letter to myself’ and she gave a sweet smile and thanked me^^ Then I told her, can you look into the camera lens? She nodded and yeah! Here’s the picture~ So nice smile^^ Her eyes was so blue…she wore blue contact lens that day…I think she carries many colored con with her..since concert time hers was gray..however, I’ll leave concert post to a later time…kekkeke…

24th April Event 1: Charmaine KLIA Pick-up

Alright, finally time to update on these events after being sleep deprived for the past month!!! Assignments finally done, well actually there’s another one, but not due until end of May. Hehe….

So now, blogging about events time! Hehehe…one of the favourites of my readers I guess..LOLS. So day 1, 24th April 2010, 1300 hours, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Arrival Hall….haha I make it sound so military based….

Alright, Charmaine’s flight was scheduled to arrive at 1255hours……however it will still take time for her to get her luggage etc right? So we were waiting at the arrival hall and while there, I saw a lady looking very well groomed etc and considering my mum is there (she can talk to anyone of any age!)……so they chatted and found out that she’s here to pick Charmaine too. She’s the event organiser for this trip from Jazzygroup. So we ended up joining in the chat with her and she’s really a friendly and nice person. She asked us for suggestions on who to bring for concert etc and seems like Raymond is coming for his mandarin album promo soon! And also a concert in Singapore later this year(to the delight of Hazel from Singapore)..hehehe…

So after waiting on, then I think Sehseh which was beside me was the first person to spot Charmaine…LOLS. So, cameras ready, I started taking photos…..hehehe…..(To provide better resolution pictures, I will post pictures as thumbnails in here. Click image to enlarge)

So when Charmaine came nearer and reach in front of me, I handed her the bouquet of champagne roses we bought for her. And I said, “Ah Sheh, sung bei nei ge.”(Ah Sheh, this is for you) And Charmaine took the flowers and said, “Doh jeh!”(thanks)….then she walked on forward and I took up my camera and said , “Ah Sheh, mong ging tao la~”(Ah Sheh, look into the lens la~). Charmaine turned around when she heard what I said and that is how this photo came about~ HEHEHE…she’s very sensitive to DSLR cameras I guess..LOL….

Then we just scattered around her which was very blur…LOLS. I heard her asking something like are we also going to the press con later? And about she having to rush and change outfit or something….HAHA…Then the worst part happen….Since Charmaine was standing there, so my mum just asked me to take a picture of her with Charmaine so she walked over nearer to Charmaine and urgh….she was shoved away by some *** which I do not want to elaborate further on who…If that is not bad enough, that *** while pulling her luggage bag, the bag hit my mum! And instead of apologizing, she gave a glare and annoyed look! Come on, I’m sure my mum is elder than her…..show some manners and respect please! Totally ruining mood!

After that, Charmaine left for the organiser’s car. Well, its very brief the pick up time at airport, but well that’s how it is during pick-ups. Then oh yea, as a bonus, Grasshoppers and Louis Yuen was in the same flight with Charmaine too! After Charmaine left, it was funny where we didn’t know what to do…..until somebody suddenly realized, GRASSHOPPERS!! HAAHAHA..so the flock of us ran back into arrival hall waiting for Grasshoppers…LOL….So we waited there a little while more and managed to see them. Haha. I shook hands with the long haired group member? I’m not sure of his name! HAHAHA….Here’s a picture of them walking out from the arrival hall~

After that, ‘event 1’ considered ended…LOLS. After arranging and leaving my ‘little sisters’ Hazel from Singapore and Jan to be in safe hands of ‘elder sisters’ Sehseh and Rachel KEKEKE….I then left with my mum, friend KC and her friend Michelle together. The time was around 2pm and our plans were to proceed to Kajang to see Sherman and William (which I feel I really have good fate with them…LOLS) who were having their autograph session there at 3.30pm. I know, so rush! HAHAHA….As to why I feel myself having fate with them? Well, stay tuned in the next post~ HAHAA

I'll probably be there at Metro Point Kajang to support them before I proceed to A-mit Concert at Bukit Jalil~

Those interested, the autograph session is an album promotion session. So their albums will be sold there and they'll probably sing some songs because its a "Chim Cheung Wooi". And the one on 25th is a sort of mini concert. I've managed to get tickets from the organisers. So stay tuned....my schedule is 101% full this weekend. HAHAHA.....I will update on Charmaine's changes in schedule and fanclub plans to members soon. Please check email regularly.

Popularity of Joey’s Weibo Page Explodes

Artistes have started to join the Weibo fad, which has allowed them to make regular postings on their site, no matter what time of day it is. This has allowed the artistes to share many things with their close friends and fans, such their current whereabouts, anything that happens in their daily lives and any new photographs. In fact, anything that can be looked at or thought of have been posted and written about on the Weibo pages. These pages have allowed the artistes to form a closer relationship with their friends, and it has allowed fans to closely follow the personal life of their idol. The number of Hong Kong artistes who have a Weibo page is becoming ever larger, and some have been seen using their iPhones to continuously type messages to post on their pages. Yesterday, Eason’s wife, Hilary Tsui, started her Weibo page, which she found to be very fun, and she had uploaded photographs of her family. Also, Sammi Cheng, who is currently holding a concert in Singapore, posted pictures on her page that showed the tattoos on her arm. Regarding the Weibo page that has the largest number of followers, this belongs to Gigi Leung (480,000 followers) and Joey Yung (370,000 followers).

Within a period of a month, the number of followers on Joey’s Weibo page has exploded to nearly 370,000. Recently, she has regularly been working in other countries, such as Australia, Guangzhou and Maldives, but she still works hard to keep her Weibo page updated. When Joey was in the Maldives, she had network communication problems, but after some hard work, she managed to post an update which showed her in a place that had a blue sky and sea, and she also mentioned that she wasn’t feeling well. Occasionally, Joey will post photographs of herself and some friends, and her good friend Charlene Choi appears the most often. Charlene, who is currently being troubled by the news about her divorce and the hiding of her marriage, was recently seen on Joey’s weibo page having lunch with Joey in the Stanley area of Hong Kong, after they had been filming together in ‘Emerald Pearl’.

And Joey's Weibo count is currently not 370,000 followers. It went up to 469,427 between 2 weeks as shown in the picture.

Well, that is why fans hopes for Joey to actually reply/read your message/comments are very slim. she posts one thing and 1 second later there's a hundred comments....nobody will expect her to read them all~ LOL.

On a sidenote, CONGRATULATIONS to Kara Hui for winning best actress at HK Film Awards last night!!!! Happy for her!! And Simon Yam won best actor for the movie I'm dying to watch. The one with Sandra Ng(one my my favourite actress)!!! Gonna go watch it after I'm done with assignments!!! Hope cinema still airs it after that...LOL.

Star Wars at Eason Duo Concert

I couldn't refrain from writing this post up although I'm very busy...LOL. Well, okay, I'll make the post short!

Eason recently had his Eason Duo in HK colliseum and during the final night, friends from the entertainment circle came to watch him, including HOCC, Joey Yung, Wyman Wong etc. And during the concert, some fans caught a Star Wars Jedi in action! LOL.....

And here's a video of Jedi in action!

Lesson number 1: When watching a concert, refrain from sitting beside Joey Yung aka Joey Skywalker so as to avoid your head being chopped off by a light saber.

Hong Kong Artiste current trend??

I wanted to write this post up yesterday. However because I was too caught up with uni work, so only decided to write this after midnight, which means sacrifice some time off my sleep. LOL.

I recently realised that there's a current trend between Hong Kong artiste going on now with Sina's Weibo. What is Weibo?? Well, its similar to Twitter only just a little more interactive. Well, basically, a chinese version of Twitter. I came to know about it through Joey because her facebook got banned....and Twitter was banned for China, so she created one on Weibo. From there, I first realise many other HK singers are there. In fact, almost the whole HK singing community is there. Among them are Kenny Kwan, Vincy, Sherman, Andy Hui, Hacken Lee, Leo Ku, Gigi Leung, Denise Ho, At17, Eric Suen, Stephy Tang, Miriam Yeung, Hins Cheung.....................

From Weibo, you can actually see them communicating with each other which are sometimes really hillarious. For example, sharing thoughts on food, ideas, bickering, arguing, joking with each other etc.

Recently, the trend has extended to not only singers but also industry people such as music producers, lyricist (Wyman Wong registered 2 days ago), composers, managers (Mani) and also TVB artiste!!

Among TVB artiste who were first active users include Myolie, Bosco, Sharon Chan, Leila Tong, Kingdom Yuen, Joe Ma and Bowie Lam. And now the trend has spread to Michael Tse and also most recently Christine Ng. I was lucky enough to be on Weibo when Christine registered (well, actually Sharon helped Christine to register an account coz she probably didn't know how...LOL). Christine started posting messages on Weibo and I randomly commented on one and surprisingly I received a reply from her! Here's how it went:

After 10 years in a career, being still able to have a well-paid job is not easy, especially in the highly competitive music industry. Apart from having a work load that is several times greater than an average person experiences, one also needs to cater to the fans who want to constantly experience new things. One needs to constantly change to enable oneself to achieve greater things! To be able to shine brightly in this industry for 10 years is not an easy thing, so that is why Joey has written a letter today to her fans to thank them for their constant support, and to show her silent gratitude.

Ivy: I personally don't fully understand the letter (the part about different kind of fans). And Joey saying she's not good in words, then from the letter, she really isn't very good...LOL. However, the message I get that is meaningful is her motivation to do more for her fanclub and also to encourage her fans together with her to do more for the society(charity) which is a right move. As to my personal self, I guess I'm going to take this blog as a place to rant my frustration!! HAHA....yesterday I received an email about deferment for my exchange application because of a restriction of the number of students the exchange university is accepting that semester...Urggh!!!! I took so much effort and time to organise my course units and now I have to re-plan. Luckily, the changes isn't too big. HAIHZ, now I have to cross my fingers and hope the next intake for the next semester accepts me!! I wouldn't want all my hardwork to be poured down the drain!!

TVB involved in corruption case, Stephen Chan and 4 other people arrested

ICAC arrested 5 persons, including TVB Co. LTD's general manager Stephen Chan, as they are involved in a corruption case.

ICAC stated that this time action made them put 5 people under arrest, among them were 4 staff members of a Television station suspected of corruption charges. And the last one is a director of an advertising company.

Mr. Tsang Sing Ming, assistant manager of TVB's external affairs department confirmed that ICAC was investigating on a corruption case and 4 members of TVB got involved, the four's positions have been suspended already and they will help ICAC with the investigation.

He stated that from his understanding, the 4 are respectively TVB's GM Stephen Chan, Sales and Marketing department bussiness development director 陳永孫 Chan Rong Suen, Artist section actress Nin Jing (assistant in the TV show "Be My Guest") and Artist section producer Ronald Chin 錢國偉. Ronald Chin is the producer of the TV show "Beautiful Cooking". The last person involved is an advertising company's director, he is also Chan's personal assistant.

He says that due to the secrecy that the ICAC investigation has to stay under, they still don't know the details of the case. He stresses that it definitly will not have any influence over TVB functioning normally.

ICAC officers arrested Stephen Chan at around 4 PM, then coming back to TVB city to investigate. Many reporters surrounded the car in order to get interviews, but because the car''s curtains were put on, it was impossible to see the people in the car. 5 minutes after it parked, Stephen Chan opened the door coming out of it wearing a grey jacket, many journalists rushed to take pictures, the whole situation getting messy. Stephen reminded the journalists to be careful and shoed the elevator to the ICAC agents. In the end ICAC agents brought Stephen back to the office for investigation purposes.

Stephen Chan arrested by ICAC, Erica Yuen says TVB harshly uses people

TVB General Manager Stephen Chan, Producer Ronald Chin, Business Development, Sales & Marketing director Wilson Chan Wing Suen and other executives were arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) yesterday. The incident shook the entire Hong Kong entertainment circle. It was said that TVB staff were ordered to seal their mouths, several behind the scenes crew, Charmaine Sheh and other artists cannot give a response. Vinci Wong was once rumored to not get along with Stephen, he felt that the incident was not anything strange: "There's no smoke without fire". Also Erica Yuen who had always been unhappy with TVB gave them a few more kicks by saying that TVB harshly uses people.

Once had contract disputes with TVB, Erica Yuen added a few more kicks on TVB after the news broke out that their executives were arrested, she said: "ICAC arresting people would always have evidence. TVB "closes the city" avoiding media interviews; Twins feels sad for Stephen Chan

TVB General Manager Stephen Chan was arrested by the ICAC due to being involved in a corruption case, Stephen was detained overnight by the ICAC. Yesterday morning, outside of Tseung Kwan O TVB City stood a large group of reporters. In order to avoid the chaotic repeated scene of Stephen's public arrest by the ICAC and for the convenience of the investigations, TVB took action by "closing the city", temporarily stopped allowing the media to enter TVB City for interviews. Stephen's favorite Hins Cheung felt that TVB's action was reasonable, he felt regret towards the incident and expressed that he also knows Stephen Chan's personal assistant (Chung Pooi Kwan) who was also arrested. In 2007, Hins' concert was produced by his company, his impression on Chung Pooi Kwan is that he's hard working and is brave in getting to know people.

Yesterday at 8am, the media waited outside TVB City until 10am where the PR personnel suddenly notified them that they are not allow interviews at this time. Reporters did not give up and stood outside the door until 12pm, where a group of security members came out to put up more railings to prevent reporters from breaking in. The <戀戀沖繩> press conference that initially was suppose to happen at 3pm with Ella Koon and Christine Kuo in attendance had to be canceled as well.

Director of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) expressed that the other day when Stephen Chan was arrested, a chaotic scene occurred where a reporter fell down and was injured, the camera lense were damaged. During this critical period, we temporarily stopped allowing the media to enter for interviews, but believe the closure will only be for a short period of time, hope everyone understands and can tolerate that.

Twins unhappy to hear about Stephen Chan's arrest

Due to Stephen and 3 other TVB employees getting arrested for corruption, their jobs have been halted, but tonight's episode of which features Twins' interview will still broadcast as scheduled. Twins heard about Stephen's incident and felt unhappy, the two expressed that Stephen has always given them a really nice impression. He often jokes and is very positive. The interview happened a month ago, at the time he was still laughing a lot with interest, didn't notice that there was anything wrong.

Corruption case relates to All Singers for TVB Anniversary 2009?

This time TVB executives suspected of corruption, it was said that the case had to with last year's and Gary Cao's Macau concert. Yesterday Hins Cheung arrived at CRHK for an interview and was asked about the incident, he said: "I have always treated Stephen as a senior, I felt really surprised when he was arrested, I don't have any opinions on this incident, I don't want to say too much." Ivy: I guess from the moment rumours of Stephen wanting to resign from TVB circulated, the question of what is going to happen next is predictable. All the articles above are very fuzzy, because obviously reporters could only write from assumptions and also through interpretation of artiste comments which are prone to mistakes.

As of what I heard now, seems like Stephen owned his own advertising/PR company and sort of forced artistes to use his company by offering them a lower price compared to the market price outside. And seems like for now, ICAC is investigating all the artiste that collaborated with Stephen before including Tavia Yeung, Steven Ma and Shirley Yeung.

Next, it is rumoured that ICAC will be investigating all the singers next because they were part of the All Singers for TVB Anniversary show. Tiger year is a bad start for TVB~ Their shares are probably dropping now in the stock exchange!!

Sharon Chan has sprained her neck filming "Can't buy me love"

When Sharon Chan was filming "Can't buy me love", she accidentally sprained her neck. She reckoned it was due to her wearing the heavy head gear. She had an X-ray and the doctor found some of her cervical bones have been shifted. Sharon was in so much pain that she couldn't move her head. She needed to have physiotherapy for a month.

Sharon was doing a show for a jeweler the other night. She looked a bit stiff, she said she had become a "Stiff neck 4" (Ivy: stubborn to death or 'ngang keng sei'). Although she was still in pain, nevertheless, she finished the show. After the event, she told reporter "The doctor told me I had an old injured on my neck before, and the head gear I was wearing was very heavy. That may have been the cause of my problem. The neck bones were out of place and were pressing on the nerve, causing me so much pain. I couldn't even lift my arms up. I have to wear the collar to protect my neck. Fortunately, the filming is nearly finished. The company have told me not to risk it. I will take some time off work to rest."

Ivy: I'm like the person who has secret love(am luen) for Sharon Chan....HAHAHAHA...I personally like her and have high hopes for her future. So I once in awhile will update on her..LOL. I even did a little research on her and turned out Sharon was a model/singer before she signed into TVB as an actress! Interesting. HAHA. Hope she has more good characters to act in. She's really starting to work hard now and gain some recognition. Poor thing on her injury....Get Well Soon Man Chi!!!

On a side note, I am not really happy with university workload this semester....HAIHZ. Four major assignments in April!! Gonna be busy for the whole month...and I got a concert and an event to attend too!!! Time management comes into the picture now....hahaha

Here's a TVB music documentary on Joey Yung. Well, probably this will be something closer to a Joey Yung Documentary compared to the Perfect Ten Documentary which I mentioned on the Perfect Ten Boxset post. I haven't watched it myself. Will do that later tonight^^

Edit: I just finished watching it and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I expected. Because there are some chapters from the documentary that I would like to highlight:

1) Joey visiting Ron Ng, Roger Kwok and producer Poon Ka Tak to talk about their filming (love Joey+Ron's humour)

2) Joey, Ah Sa and Paisley's gathering. Talking a lot about Joey's habits and trying to think of matchmaking her which ended up with people like Brad Pitt...HAHA

3) Joey talking about her mum and also her teacher Roman Tam which was very touching to look back at clips of Roman giving her singing lessons

4) Joey talking about dancing and some clips of her rehearsals

Back to Uni, waiting for April

Finally started university again today! First day of lecture and already reached late because had to guide my mum on how to reach the highway to Penang!! Worse thing is, once I stepped into lecture hall, my new lecturer was talking about punctuality and how particular she is on this.....really PAISEH..luckily I was so far up I don't think she'll remember my face(hopefully).

I already bought A-mit Live in Malaysia concert ticket last week!! I wanted to get the PS2 ticket at first but when I went to Sungei Wang to purchase, nice seats for that tier was already taken. So ended up getting PS1 ticket. 3rd row! So considered not bad. I think her concert ticket will get sold out soon because ticket sales started on 11am and I bought mine around 2pm. In 3 hours, nice seats for PS2 already fully taken!

Concert is on 24th April and I got an assignment due on 27th!! And also I hope Charmaine come early in April!! HAHA...better if come on my birthday! LOL

Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh and Sharon Chan started working on new costume drama . Although there are rumors between Moses and Charmaine, but at the scene, the two did not care about it focusing more on reviewing the script and filming. They even joked around and was not embarrassed at all.

2009 was Joey’s 10th year in the music industry, and 2010 is an important year because it marks a new start in her career. Today is the 4th day in the Year of the Tiger, and apart from wishing everyone will have a prosperous New Year, Joey also wishes that everyone will have good luck. Finally, she also teaches us how to make a windmill so we will receive good luck.

THE PAST – A LITTLE SINGING GIRL TRANSFORMS

After completing her perfect golden 10 years, Joey definitely sees 2010 as a new start. From being an unknown singer in 1999 to becoming today’s pop queen, Joey really has changed a lot, and she has also grown up and matured.

“10 years ago, I was still a silly girl who had just entered the music industry, and everything filled me with curiosity. At that time, I didn’t have much of an opinion about my work, so I usually just listened to my company and they set my direction. In the beginning, all I sang were love songs like ‘Painful Love’, but after ‘Solemn on Stage’, I slowly added some fast dancing songs. As time passed and I developed, I became more familiar with my working environment, and I understood what my needs were. I also knew my strong and weak points, so I began to express my own opinions. I remember in the beginning, my co-workers thought my opinions were jokes, but now, everyone respects my thinking and they will coordinate with my musical needs. This is why that during my later songs, such as ‘Big Yellow Door’, ‘Be True’ and ‘Always Able To See Angels’, you can hear my inner thoughts and feelings in the lyrics of the songs.”

EARNED SELFLESS SUPPORT

When an artiste achieves success, they will gain fame and fortune, but they may lose their freedom and never be able to live a normal life again. To Joey, fame and fortune is something that she doesn’t have much desire for and after 10 years, the thing that makes her most happy is gaining the selfless support from a bunch of friends in the industry and her fans.

“I’m most happy about getting to know this bunch of friends. I am a person that will protect myself, so there was one occasion that I observed a person for a long time before I decided whether I would open my heart to them. Another thing that makes me most happy is getting the support from my fans. When I examine myself, I reach the conclusion that I’m not a person who has contributed a lot, and all I have done is turn what I am interested in doing into a profession and singing some good songs to entertain people. For everyone to be willing to make an effort to support me and discover my good points, it is extremely hard to come by!”

REGARDING WHAT SHE HAS LOST, JOEY RECKONS IT IS TIME SPENT WITH HER FAMILY

“In these 10 years, I leave the house early every morning and return late at night. Each year, I only have 8-10 days holiday. I am lucky that I am still living with my mum, so we get to see each other at least once a day. If I was to really talk about sacrifice, I would think of not being able to walk the streets of Mongkok or browse the boutiques in small shopping malls!”

THE PRESENT – THE REAL ME HAS APPEARED AGAIN

After 10 years, there have been many changes. Currently, Joey Yung is already the ‘no.1 sister’ of EEG and is a queen of pop. The success she has achieved in her career has made her more mature, and it has given her the courage to show her real self to people.

“To a certain degree, the present me is brave enough to take a step forward and walk along my own path, but I still require the protection, support and opinion from my company, and I am still a little flower in my company’s greenhouse. I am practical person, so when people started liking me, many years ago, and I became more and more popular, this did not lead to me getting a ‘floating in the air’ feeling. On the contrary, it made me a bit scared because I was worried that this support wouldn’t last, and during the early years, I did receive some negative news in the media. This is why each thing I said or do had to be done very carefully, and sometimes I was maybe too careful, which caused me to live uneasily and not be myself. The current me is more relaxed, and I’m no longer scared of saying the wrong thing. Everyone has seen me grow up, so they know what kind of person I am.”

AWARDS ARE ONLY A COMMENDATION

Another thing that Joey is more relaxed about is how she views music awards.

“I still want to win awards, but I have understood that they are only a commendation and they will not affect how everyone will view me. However, what awards will affect is my behaviour. If I were to win an award which I don’t deserve to win, everyone will feel that I am not worthy, so that is why the most important way to start is to sing as well as you can and try hard to improve your music. A few years ago, I deliberately tried to change myself, but now, what I actually think is most important is to do my best in terms of my music and not change just for the sake of changing. As you gradually grow up, even if it is the same song, the feeling, charm and the method of expression changes.”

As the no.1 sister of the company, she has seen the arrival of Twins, Vincy, Sherman, William and others, over the years, and if Joey is able to, she will help them out.

“All I am is a sister who has a little bit more experience than they do! I do not firmly believe that my way of doing things is the best way, and I do not force them to do it my way, since each artiste is independent and unique.” When discussing about Sherman Chung, who became very popular due to her song ‘Letter For Myself’, Joey praised her for having a unique style. Joey also feels that it is rare to be able to sing a good song, so Sherman deserves everyone’s attention.

THE FUTURE – REDUCED OUTPUT IN 10 YEARS

On June this year, Joey will become 30 years old, so she will be 40 years old in 10 years time.

“In 10 years time, I want the future me to want to seek happiness even more, and maybe my life at that time will be a complete turnaround to how it is right now. I want to be able to live a more ordinary life, to buy a piece of land to do some farming, to visit other countries to see how others live, and to learn more foreign languages. Basically, I want to be able to put aside more time for myself and my family.”

40 YEAR OLD POP QUEEN – BELIEVES SHE WILL NOT BE ACTIVE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

“I don’t want to stop singing! From very early on, I viewed singing as a lifelong career, but in 10 years time, I will probably reduce my music output. I am not good at speaking, so singing is my best way of conveying my feelings. As well as this, singing also lets me communicate with my fans. Also, I can release a new album any time I like, so there are many good points! I will not announce I won’t accept awards any more, and I won’t say I won’t sing any more. Announcing these kinds of things does me no good.”

LOVE – WILL LET FATE DECIDE

After 10 years in the industry, the only love affair that everyone knows about which involves Joey is the one with Meter Chen, which happened in another country. Unfortunately, it ended with them breaking up.

“Two people need to take their steps together, or else they should not waste their time. After breaking up with Meter, I have not dated anyone else. However, this is not because I have not met someone who I have feelings for, but it is because I did not develop the relationship further. Emotions involve both persons in the relationship, and it requires both persons to be certain about their feelings, which isn’t easy. Even if I wanted to develop a relationship further, my working hours prevent me from doing so. However, I believe I will be a person who will achieve happiness, and whether this is true will depend on fate.”

Don’t think that because she is the queen of pop she will not make the first move. Joey said that as long as she meets a person she has fallen in love with, she will not mind making the first move, and she will give everything into the relationship.

“I am a person who doesn’t know how to hide their feelings. It is just that at present, there is not a person that has made me want to express my feelings. Even though working in this industry has made it difficult to make new friends, I’m not in a hurry to start dating, and I will quietly wait for my fate to arrive. The person I’ll fall for in the future might even be a plumber who will be coming to unblock my drains!”

MY MATE NEEDS TO BE TALENTED

To be appreciated by Joey, it is not difficult. All you need to be is talented, mature, attentive and be able to chat with Joey on the phone.

“It can be any type of talent. As long as they have invested a lot of time and effort into their job, I will admire them. If the person is a plumber who has achieved a lot in unblocking drains, I will still like them! I’m most scared of people who don’t have a direction and don’t achieve anything! Handsome guys? They are hard to find, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As long as the person is someone you love, you can still see the good in them, even if the person is ugly.”

TO MAINTAIN VOICE, DRINK TONICS LIKE WATER

After starting her singing career in 1999, problems started developing with Joey’s vocal chords in 2001. This forced her to stop working for half a year so she could recover. After her recovery, her career has been plain sailing. Due to this, each time one of her singer friends encounters a similar problem, they will ask Joey for tips on how to maintain their voice.

“It is like I have become a spokesperson for the voice. When someone has a problem with their voice, they will come to see me. Maybe everyone thinks I have lots of secret formulas for maintaining the voice! In actual fact, the tonics I drink to maintain my voice includes sek hup (石合) & siraitia grosvenori (羅漢果) water, apple & Chinese pear water, fig & white fungus soup and other drinks. All the tonics are made every day by my mum, so I drink them like water.”

WEARING NEW UNDERWEAR DURING CHINESE NEW YEAR

During this New Year, Joey followed the advice of a wise person by not travelling abroad, so she stayed in Hong Kong to accompany her mum during the Chinese New Year period.

“My wish for this New Year is for my work to go smoothly, and spend each day being happy. Actually, it’s been 7 or 8 years since I was in Hong Kong during Chinese New Year, so I’m especially excited this year. I will also get together with some friends to have a celebration party. My mum has already decorated the house and put up some New Year scrolls. In addition, some orchids and daffodils have been put on display, and I have put out a New Year candy case.” When talking about the New Year traditions that occur in the Yung household, Joey laughed and said: “On the first day of the New Year, we’re not allowed to wash our hair, but I ignore this every year and nothing bad has happened, so no problem! Also, each year on the same day, I will wear new underwear because it means that there will be a new start in the New Year.”

Joey usually spends her New Year outside of Hong Kong, and her most memorable New Year event also happened abroad. She remembered that there was one year in which she had just completed her concert, so she decided to spend a few days in Japan for a vacation. However, as soon as she arrived in Japan, she became ill, which may have been due to her over-exerting herself during the concert. Joey said: “At that time, I was so ill that I had no strength in my body and I had lost my voice. I was living in a small Japanese village so I couldn’t find a doctor. I then thought that I shouldn’t waste the vacation, so I didn’t care about my illness and I forced myself to go out to enjoy myself every day. In the end, I got better without having to take any medication, and I didn’t need to see a doctor when I arrived back in Hong Kong.”

EPILOGUE

I like Joey a little bit more in recent years, but I’m not talking about her songs or her performances on stage; I’m actually talking about her as a person. As she mentioned, the Joey from the past is a person who was careful on what she said in public, but the current Joey is more relaxed, and has become more real.

Ivy: Nice article here. Somehow I can relate myself to Joey on the part of being too secure of myself. I understand what she means when she's being too careful before talking and revealing something to people around her. I am that type of person too, which leads to people saying that I don't talk much! However, in actual fact, once I talk, I can't stop...hahaha...I guess most of this part of me is witnessed by my school classmates and people who have the same interests with me. Guess gotta learn to be less careful, HAHA, although I think it is still important to have a degree of discretion.

As to the part where Joey said she will not announce that she will not sing, I think she did test or probably learned that it really won't do any good to her if she were to announce retirement. Because I remember last year she did mention that she plans to only sing for 5 more years then retire from the industry which lead fans and the media on an emotional streak from her twitter, forum, entertainment news etc that she had to reply back on her Twitter, "Don't have such a big reaction, we still don't know where the future would lead to, wait till the time comes." I personally would respect her decisions. Its not easy to be in the industry and Joey deserves some rest. Maybe her current decision to take it easy like how Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Sandy Lam etc is doing is a good idea.

Talking back about me, I have to go back to KL this Friday!!! Feel like crying!! Why does time flies in super speed for me!!!??? I felt like its just a blink of an eye! Didn't really done anything this holiday and suddenly it has ended! And I just viewed my timetable, not liking it much...I have a 5 hour break in between on Tuesdays!! Well, probably could dedicate it to update blog every week..hahaha. However, I am looking forward for April to come^^ Hope it will be an eventful one!

Ivy: I just got back from Japan yesterday night. And honestly, until now I still feel tired. Hahaha...sitting long haul flights really kills me. I can't sleep at all in the plane. Raymond Lam & Charlene Choi a bickering pair, Raymond strikes at Ah Sa's chest area

Yesterday Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), Raymond Lam, Kenny Kwan, Wong Cho Lam, Ken Hung, Christine Kuo, Kathy Tong, Steven Cheung, Katy Kung, Jessie Shum and Di Lung attended the blessing ceremony for new film a co-production between Shaw Brothers film production company and EEG.

Ah Sa reveals that she'll be playing as a bickering couple with Raymond Lam. In reality, she and Raymond are always revengeful too, just like a few days ago when the two were shooting for a snatching jade scene. The scene talked about Raymond going forward and violently tried to snatch Ah Sa's jade, the director requested that Raymond snatch with his hand near her chest area, but because Raymond had a large palm, he implied that Ah Sa was flat chested, making her jump in anger, she said: "Sometimes he's so bad, always making fun of me. A real bad boy! (Shooting with Raymond are there any sparks?) I need to think of something to prank him back with, I can withstand his electricity."

As for Raymond, he said that Ah Sa is really fun to play with, he said: "I said she's flat chested? Just playing, Ah Sa is fun to play with. This is a comedy, most of the cast are very funny people, making a light happy atmosphere. I really thank them because I'm also shooting for another modern film, I haven't slept for a few days, so with them laughing a bit around me, I'm not as sleepy."

Additionally, this is the first time MCI Christine Kuo is taking part in a film, she'll be playing as the Princess this time. She highly praised that her senior Di Lung has an easygoing personality, willing to advise the newcomers.

Ivy: Where's Joey?? I think she didn't go for the costume tryout...if not mistaken, she's in Beijing...Now I really think that her role may be a guest role...because I doubt she has much time to act since she got 2 Starlight concerts in Australia next month!

The costume looks like the funny type of costume...not the pretty type of ancient dressing that I expected. Raymond's hat reminds me of a Malay 'songkok'...=.="(not a compliment). HAHA... And turns out its a comedy...I would prefer it to be a romantic comedy or something like that. Poor Raymond, having to act in 2 movies at the same time! One with Miriam and another with Charlene! LOL.. Ray is caught between two loves..LOL! Hope he could get more rest!!

Its funny when Raymond joined EEG, I was just waiting for when EEG will pair him up with one of their singers. I was predicting Raymond will pair up with Vincy probably for some movie since Raymond and Vincy seems to collaborate the most in EEG. However, turns out EEG sets Raymond up with Charlene and Joey instead! Hahaha...And the funny thing was, I was just thinking what about Ray and Joey and the next day, I read news of them going to film an ancient movie together. Not much information on the movie is out yet. Except that there will be a four sided relationship between Raymond, Charlene, Joey and Wong Cho Lam...HAHAHA....I'm imagining Joey and Wong Cho Lam now..LOLS...it sure will be funny to see them..one so tall..and one the opposite^^

Anyway, the pictures posted above looks quite nice! They are from this little girl's blog. I think its a TVB CNY MV based on what the little girl said. All these while, I felt that Joey looks more like an elder sister to Raymond although she is a year younger than him. However, the pictures above looks quite sweet...like a family..SURPRISINGLY...HAHA.. Its funny too when the little girl said that Joey and her sang together and when Raymond aririved they all laughed until their tummy ached (wonder what jokes Ray cracked)...I guess filming the MV above is a hint for TVB to promote the ChoFung/JoRay couple soon..LOL....or maybe to try to make them more comfortable with each other's company first.

I remember a video of Charlene and Joey...Charlene said that Joey asked her about filming movies. She asked Charlene how could she differentiate love in acting and not put real feelings towards your costar? So Charlene said you need to know how to differentiate them between filming and real life. Joey then said, I'm not as experienced as you! If you see me falling for Ray, please help pull me away! LOLZ...NO! I hope that never happens! LOL. I can't imagine rumours between them two...thinking of it already make me cringe! Found the video:

Amit Live First World Tour 2010: Malaysia

Besides Charmaine event in April, another event that I'm interested in! I missed this last year, this year I wouldn't want to miss it!! Amit, formerly known as A-mei will be holding another concert this April 24th at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil!! Ticket sales will start end of this month.
