Joey Yung to lose weight for concert

source: Apple Daily

Joey Yung and Wyman Wong attended British designer Gareth Pugh I.T apparell store visit event. Joey hopes that Gareth could help her in designing her costumes for her upcoming concert in November.

Joey revealed that she will be visiting Paris around September or October accompanied by Wyman for dance rehearsals and also costume arrangements.

When asked whether the concert will emphasise on sexiness, Joey laughed and answered, "I don't have a bottom line. I have to lose weight, around 10 pounds is my target."

Please give due credit if reposted. Thank You.

Ivy: Seems like ages since I translated news!! Haha, however had the mood to do one tonight. And because I'm excited to read more news on Joey's coming concert. I guess the hype is starting now after Raymond's concert ended. Hahaha...I suppose this 2 concerts are the anticipated concert of the second half of 2010 in Hong Kong.

And Joey having to reduce 10 pounds sounds so scary!!! If she's around 50kg now, that means she'll have to reduce to 45kg with a height of 169cm??? OMG!!!!! However, its cool that she'll spend her time in Paris for rehearsals!! Wonder what she has planned in mind? And besides that, Joey was Raymond's concert guest for his final show!! And they look really adorable together. I'm probably influenced by the movie Jade & the Pearl. Their collaboration turned out better than expected. And they do look adorable together at the concert that night! Here's some nice pictures to share!

Raymond wanted to kiss Joey! However, Joey rejected him! HAHAHA...Poor thing! They look so cutey together!! Hahaha...hope she didn't got electrified by Fung though...although she's a year younger than Fung. LOLS!! And I have to say, I love Joey's fashion sense!!!! The white top plus colourful boots <3<3<3>

Popularity of Joey’s Weibo Page Explodes

Source: Sina

Artistes have started to join the Weibo fad, which has allowed them to make regular postings on their site, no matter what time of day it is. This has allowed the artistes to share many things with their close friends and fans, such their current whereabouts, anything that happens in their daily lives and any new photographs. In fact, anything that can be looked at or thought of have been posted and written about on the Weibo pages. These pages have allowed the artistes to form a closer relationship with their friends, and it has allowed fans to closely follow the personal life of their idol. The number of Hong Kong artistes who have a Weibo page is becoming ever larger, and some have been seen using their iPhones to continuously type messages to post on their pages. Yesterday, Eason’s wife, Hilary Tsui, started her Weibo page, which she found to be very fun, and she had uploaded photographs of her family. Also, Sammi Cheng, who is currently holding a concert in Singapore, posted pictures on her page that showed the tattoos on her arm. Regarding the Weibo page that has the largest number of followers, this belongs to Gigi Leung (480,000 followers) and Joey Yung (370,000 followers).

Within a period of a month, the number of followers on Joey’s Weibo page has exploded to nearly 370,000. Recently, she has regularly been working in other countries, such as Australia, Guangzhou and Maldives, but she still works hard to keep her Weibo page updated. When Joey was in the Maldives, she had network communication problems, but after some hard work, she managed to post an update which showed her in a place that had a blue sky and sea, and she also mentioned that she wasn’t feeling well. Occasionally, Joey will post photographs of herself and some friends, and her good friend Charlene Choi appears the most often. Charlene, who is currently being troubled by the news about her divorce and the hiding of her marriage, was recently seen on Joey’s weibo page having lunch with Joey in the Stanley area of Hong Kong, after they had been filming together in ‘Emerald Pearl’.

Ivy: I should write for Sina~ LOL....I started this topic earlier...haha..although this article was published on April 4th, but I think I still was ahead of them...wasn't I?? LOLS! And Joey's Weibo count is currently not 370,000 followers. It went up to 469,427 between 2 weeks as shown in the picture.

Well, that is why fans hopes for Joey to actually reply/read your message/comments are very slim. she posts one thing and 1 second later there's a hundred comments....nobody will expect her to read them all~ LOL.

On a sidenote, CONGRATULATIONS to Kara Hui for winning best actress at HK Film Awards last night!!!! Happy for her!! And Simon Yam won best actor for the movie I'm dying to watch. The one with Sandra Ng(one my my favourite actress)!!! Gonna go watch it after I'm done with assignments!!! Hope cinema still airs it after that...LOL.

P.S. 5 more days till A-mit concert and Charmaine's arrival~ Looking forward!! Add Oil to my assignments~ Gonna try finish one by Wednesday!!

[17 Mar 2010] EEG Insures Joey’s Voice for HK$50million

Source: Xinhuanet

Since last year when Joey Yung discovered she had some callus on her vocal chords, which caused her to sound hoarse, she had been worried that it would affect her singing career. After spending 3 months to recuperate, and travelling to Nanjing to have acupuncture, she has slowly gotten better. Afterwards, Joey had secretly gone into hospital to have an examination, and the doctors discovered that the callus had disappeared, which made Joey very happy when she was told of this. To protect their ‘money tree’, EEG has decided to spend HK$50million to insure Joey’s vocal chords.

Ivy: 50 Million!! EEG really do know how to secure themselves. Well I hope they don't even need to claim this insurance! LOL
Btw, Fahrenheit is coming to KL (or rather they are already here) this Saturday. Now I'm thinking should I drop by to have a look?? HAHA...the only reason is because I want to see Wu Zhun in person...LOL. Since I'm not really a fan and don't really listen to their music. Will consider it.....LOL

[16 Mar 10] Joey Writes Thank You Letter to Fans

Joey’s greatest motivation is from all the support and encouragement she has received from her fans during the past 10 years.

Source: HKHeadline

After 10 years in a career, being still able to have a well-paid job is not easy, especially in the highly competitive music industry. Apart from having a work load that is several times greater than an average person experiences, one also needs to cater to the fans who want to constantly experience new things. One needs to constantly change to enable oneself to achieve greater things! To be able to shine brightly in this industry for 10 years is not an easy thing, so that is why Joey has written a letter today to her fans to thank them for their constant support, and to show her silent gratitude.

All these years, Joey has seen the effort given by her fans, such as waiting for her night and day at various places, saving up their money to buy her albums, waiting in queues to buy her concert tickets, and also to create light banners to display at various places to show their support….All these things has let to Joey feeling very grateful and thankful to all her fans, so today she has written the following letter to give to all the fans who love her, as a sign of her gratitude for the past 10 years….

Joey’s letter:

“Throughout all these years, I have seen you all grow up, and you have also seen me develop to this very day. I hope you all won’t mind that I’m not an eloquent speaker, and to be able to understand that I’m not a smooth talker, all these corny things is understood by everyone and it doesn’t need to be said. You have all helped me look after my fan club for over 10 years, and each time someone wants to ruin the fan club, you will all work together to resist it. All your actions have moved me, so it is worth me writing this letter today to all you fans that I love.

In addition, each year after I win various awards at the awards ceremonies, you all seem to be happier than I am, and you always give me a congratulation card that you have all signed! To thank you all, I will continue to do my best. I know that being a Joey Yung fan is hard work because I am a special singer who has some fans who like me a lot, but there are also some fans who are more reserved and so they will need to persevere if they want to like me. Therefore, the overall feeling is like being able to get through lots of difficult obstacles, so for being a fan of me, you are all amazing! On the other hand, I also hope that you will all maintain the beautiful characteristic of a peace ambassador, which is to be respectful to your idol and to yourself. Right now, I have just started the 11th year of my career, and I will put more work into my fan club this year. I also hope to make my grand dream come true which is to use my energy to motivate all my fans to contribute to society.

Joey, 2010"

Ivy: I personally don't fully understand the letter (the part about different kind of fans). And Joey saying she's not good in words, then from the letter, she really isn't very good...LOL. However, the message I get that is meaningful is her motivation to do more for her fanclub and also to encourage her fans together with her to do more for the society(charity) which is a right move. Hope to see more of that soon! Oh btw, I think Joey got interviewed by the ICAC too for the Stephen Chan case investigations...well hope everything will get sorted out soon!

As to my personal self, I guess I'm going to take this blog as a place to rant my frustration!! HAHA....yesterday I received an email about deferment for my exchange application because of a restriction of the number of students the exchange university is accepting that semester...Urggh!!!! I took so much effort and time to organise my course units and now I have to re-plan. Luckily, the changes isn't too big. HAIHZ, now I have to cross my fingers and hope the next intake for the next semester accepts me!! I wouldn't want all my hardwork to be poured down the drain!!
Edit:

Part I am not clear with in the letter resolved thanks to Spoiledbrat^^

Unclear part: "I know that being a Joey Yung fan is hard work because I am a special singer who has some fans who like me a lot, but there are also some fans who are more reserved and so they will need to persevere if they want to like me."

Spoiledbrat's explanation:

i think she is referring to those fans who pretend to not be a fan or pretend to dislike her due to peer pressure. there are quite a few JFs who don't want others to know that they like Joey because their family and/or friends don't like her.

Ivy: Sad case.......no freedom of choosing who they like and want to support...IMO, youths should not be too affected by peer pressure.

TVB involved in corruption case, Stephen Chan and 4 other people arrested

ICAC arrested 5 persons, including TVB Co. LTD's general manager Stephen Chan, as they are involved in a corruption case.

ICAC stated that this time action made them put 5 people under arrest, among them were 4 staff members of a Television station suspected of corruption charges. And the last one is a director of an advertising company.

Mr. Tsang Sing Ming, assistant manager of TVB's external affairs department confirmed that ICAC was investigating on a corruption case and 4 members of TVB got involved, the four's positions have been suspended already and they will help ICAC with the investigation.

He stated that from his understanding, the 4 are respectively TVB's GM Stephen Chan, Sales and Marketing department bussiness development director 陳永孫 Chan Rong Suen, Artist section actress Nin Jing (assistant in the TV show "Be My Guest") and Artist section producer Ronald Chin 錢國偉. Ronald Chin is the producer of the TV show "Beautiful Cooking". The last person involved is an advertising company's director, he is also Chan's personal assistant.

He says that due to the secrecy that the ICAC investigation has to stay under, they still don't know the details of the case. He stresses that it definitly will not have any influence over TVB functioning normally.

ICAC officers arrested Stephen Chan at around 4 PM, then coming back to TVB city to investigate. Many reporters surrounded the car in order to get interviews, but because the car''s curtains were put on, it was impossible to see the people in the car. 5 minutes after it parked, Stephen Chan opened the door coming out of it wearing a grey jacket, many journalists rushed to take pictures, the whole situation getting messy. Stephen reminded the journalists to be careful and shoed the elevator to the ICAC agents. In the end ICAC agents brought Stephen back to the office for investigation purposes.

Stephen Chan arrested by ICAC, Erica Yuen says TVB harshly uses people

TVB General Manager Stephen Chan, Producer Ronald Chin, Business Development, Sales & Marketing director Wilson Chan Wing Suen and other executives were arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) yesterday. The incident shook the entire Hong Kong entertainment circle. It was said that TVB staff were ordered to seal their mouths, several behind the scenes crew, Charmaine Sheh and other artists cannot give a response. Vinci Wong was once rumored to not get along with Stephen, he felt that the incident was not anything strange: "There's no smoke without fire". Also Erica Yuen who had always been unhappy with TVB gave them a few more kicks by saying that TVB harshly uses people.

Once had contract disputes with TVB, Erica Yuen added a few more kicks on TVB after the news broke out that their executives were arrested, she said: "ICAC arresting people would always have evidence. If they took action to arrest them, then there must be sufficient evidence, otherwise they wouldn't have done it. People who didn't do it, then they didn't do it. (What do you think of Stephen's personality?) I don't know! Someone takes care of all aspects well. I didn't say who! (There seems to be so much happening to TVB this year!) TVB uses people harshly, I didn't so who, but there are so many executives having problems, there must be a relationship! (Have to pray to the lords?) Body not straight, any praying won't help!"

Stephen Chan's other "enemy" Vinci Wong frankly said that he does not keep in touch with him, he's only worried about the executive Ho Lai Cheun who he has dinner with often, fortunately he was not part of the arrest. Towards Stephen being arrested, Vinci said: "He's been an official once and has been the executive of different departments, so is especially sensitive towards these cases, have do be extra careful when doing things. But, this time if ICAC investigations are involved, then there is definitely something wrong, I don't think it's anything strange."

Vinci Wong also expressed that he does not keep in touch with Stephen, the last time he saw him was with Liza Wang told him to check the live version of , Vinci said: "I called Stephen to buy tickets, he told me to call Amigo Chui. (You don't get along with Amigo!) That's just what people say, but we are ok. I even went in backstage with him to say hi to Stephen. As the audience, I really admire Stephen's hosting work. (What do you feel about Stephen?) I do not know hm well, I don't know. (Have you gossiped about what exactly happened?) Yes, I heard that he and his assistant were opening a company together and used his own home address to register. (Opening his own company to make a profit, would there be a conflict?) No one said that people can't open their own business despite working in another one, but have to see if there is a contradiction. Earlier it was said that he was leaving TVB, there's no smoke without fire!" Also, there was a report that someone invited Vinci back to TVB, he avoided: "No executive invited me, a behind the scenes crew asked me. I am in discussion with iCable currently. Right now, I can say that I am not signing for any TV network, I have my own business."

Also, as a TVB contracted artist, it is believed that Charmaine Sheh received the sealing mouth orders. Yesterday afternoon, she and friends were in Central having lunch, speaking of Stephen's arrest, she just smiled and shook her head. Asked if she's worried? She only shook her head and did not respond. Eric Tsang also did a 360 degree turn to avoid the media in his car. When his car stopped, a large group of reporters surrounded, he slowly walked and said: "I just got off of my flight, I don't know anything. (Have you contacted Ronald Chin?) I don't know whats going on, I have to get an understanding first. (Have you asked Virgina Lok?) I haven't yet, everyone is currently in a meeting. (How do you feel about the incident?) I don't think so right?"

TVB "closes the city" avoiding media interviews; Twins feels sad for Stephen Chan

TVB General Manager Stephen Chan was arrested by the ICAC due to being involved in a corruption case, Stephen was detained overnight by the ICAC. Yesterday morning, outside of Tseung Kwan O TVB City stood a large group of reporters. In order to avoid the chaotic repeated scene of Stephen's public arrest by the ICAC and for the convenience of the investigations, TVB took action by "closing the city", temporarily stopped allowing the media to enter TVB City for interviews. Stephen's favorite Hins Cheung felt that TVB's action was reasonable, he felt regret towards the incident and expressed that he also knows Stephen Chan's personal assistant (Chung Pooi Kwan) who was also arrested. In 2007, Hins' concert was produced by his company, his impression on Chung Pooi Kwan is that he's hard working and is brave in getting to know people.

Yesterday at 8am, the media waited outside TVB City until 10am where the PR personnel suddenly notified them that they are not allow interviews at this time. Reporters did not give up and stood outside the door until 12pm, where a group of security members came out to put up more railings to prevent reporters from breaking in. The <戀戀沖繩> press conference that initially was suppose to happen at 3pm with Ella Koon and Christine Kuo in attendance had to be canceled as well.

Director of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) expressed that the other day when Stephen Chan was arrested, a chaotic scene occurred where a reporter fell down and was injured, the camera lense were damaged. During this critical period, we temporarily stopped allowing the media to enter for interviews, but believe the closure will only be for a short period of time, hope everyone understands and can tolerate that.

Twins unhappy to hear about Stephen Chan's arrest

Due to Stephen and 3 other TVB employees getting arrested for corruption, their jobs have been halted, but tonight's episode of which features Twins' interview will still broadcast as scheduled. Twins heard about Stephen's incident and felt unhappy, the two expressed that Stephen has always given them a really nice impression. He often jokes and is very positive. The interview happened a month ago, at the time he was still laughing a lot with interest, didn't notice that there was anything wrong.

Corruption case relates to All Singers for TVB Anniversary 2009?

This time TVB executives suspected of corruption, it was said that the case had to with last year's and Gary Cao's Macau concert. Yesterday Hins Cheung arrived at CRHK for an interview and was asked about the incident, he said: "I have always treated Stephen as a senior, I felt really surprised when he was arrested, I don't have any opinions on this incident, I don't want to say too much." Rumors say that the incident is related to ? Hins said: "All shows that go on TV, I have always left it for my company to handle." Does singers have money to pocket? Hins said: "My pay is managed by my manager, who already showed me the big numbers."

Last night Gary Cao, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lo and Niki Chow attended an event. Gary's Macau concert was produced by Stephen's personal assistant advertisement company, does it include doing promotions? Gary expressed that he was shocked to see the repor, but is not clear of what happened. He strongly stressed that he knew Stephen's personal assistant first because he was introduced to him by Taiwanese friends, after two years, he met Stephen. The Macau concert was his only collaboration with him. As far as Gary knows, the Macau concert was hosted by Venetian hotel and his company was responsible for the production and promotions.

Niki Chow was also shocked about the news, she has never experienced a time where she was requested to reduce her pay for promotions. Everything is left fo her company to discuss because this protects artists personal image.

Ivy: I guess from the moment rumours of Stephen wanting to resign from TVB circulated, the question of what is going to happen next is predictable. All the articles above are very fuzzy, because obviously reporters could only write from assumptions and also through interpretation of artiste comments which are prone to mistakes.

As of what I heard now, seems like Stephen owned his own advertising/PR company and sort of forced artistes to use his company by offering them a lower price compared to the market price outside. And seems like for now, ICAC is investigating all the artiste that collaborated with Stephen before including Tavia Yeung, Steven Ma and Shirley Yeung.

Next, it is rumoured that ICAC will be investigating all the singers next because they were part of the All Singers for TVB Anniversary show. Tiger year is a bad start for TVB~ Their shares are probably dropping now in the stock exchange!!

Sharon Chan has sprained her neck filming "Can't buy me love"

When Sharon Chan was filming "Can't buy me love", she accidentally sprained her neck. She reckoned it was due to her wearing the heavy head gear. She had an X-ray and the doctor found some of her cervical bones have been shifted. Sharon was in so much pain that she couldn't move her head. She needed to have physiotherapy for a month.

Sharon was doing a show for a jeweler the other night. She looked a bit stiff, she said she had become a "Stiff neck 4" (Ivy: stubborn to death or 'ngang keng sei'). Although she was still in pain, nevertheless, she finished the show. After the event, she told reporter "The doctor told me I had an old injured on my neck before, and the head gear I was wearing was very heavy. That may have been the cause of my problem. The neck bones were out of place and were pressing on the nerve, causing me so much pain. I couldn't even lift my arms up. I have to wear the collar to protect my neck. Fortunately, the filming is nearly finished. The company have told me not to risk it. I will take some time off work to rest."

Ivy: I'm like the person who has secret love(am luen) for Sharon Chan....HAHAHAHA...I personally like her and have high hopes for her future. So I once in awhile will update on her..LOL. I even did a little research on her and turned out Sharon was a model/singer before she signed into TVB as an actress! Interesting. HAHA. Hope she has more good characters to act in. She's really starting to work hard now and gain some recognition. Poor thing on her injury....Get Well Soon Man Chi!!!

On a side note, I am not really happy with university workload this semester....HAIHZ. Four major assignments in April!! Gonna be busy for the whole month...and I got a concert and an event to attend too!!! Time management comes into the picture now....hahaha

Sharon Chan has to wear neck brace due to heavy head sets

Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh and Sharon Chan started working on new costume drama . Although there are rumors between Moses and Charmaine, but at the scene, the two did not care about it focusing more on reviewing the script and filming. They even joked around and was not embarrassed at all.

Photobucket

When Sharon didn't have to be on camera, she would have to put her neck brace on. Reporters sent their condolences to her, she sigh and said: "My neck couldn't handle the heavy head set, affecting my shoulders, arms and fingers." Charmaine laughed and said: "Before when I was shooting for , my head set was too tall, so whenever I tried to get into the car, I had to open the sun roof to let my head set stick out on top of the car!"

Ivy: HAHAHA...I love Charmaine's remarks at the end. A sports car driving Lau Sam Ho...LOL. Looking forward to the series! There's Charmaine and Sharon in it!! Too bad no Tavia this time. And also take care Sharon! Sure is damaging to the body having such heavy stuff above your head!

The Past, Present & Future of Joey Yung

Photobucket

2009 was Joey’s 10th year in the music industry, and 2010 is an important year because it marks a new start in her career. Today is the 4th day in the Year of the Tiger, and apart from wishing everyone will have a prosperous New Year, Joey also wishes that everyone will have good luck. Finally, she also teaches us how to make a windmill so we will receive good luck.

THE PAST – A LITTLE SINGING GIRL TRANSFORMS

After completing her perfect golden 10 years, Joey definitely sees 2010 as a new start. From being an unknown singer in 1999 to becoming today’s pop queen, Joey really has changed a lot, and she has also grown up and matured.

“10 years ago, I was still a silly girl who had just entered the music industry, and everything filled me with curiosity. At that time, I didn’t have much of an opinion about my work, so I usually just listened to my company and they set my direction. In the beginning, all I sang were love songs like ‘Painful Love’, but after ‘Solemn on Stage’, I slowly added some fast dancing songs. As time passed and I developed, I became more familiar with my working environment, and I understood what my needs were. I also knew my strong and weak points, so I began to express my own opinions. I remember in the beginning, my co-workers thought my opinions were jokes, but now, everyone respects my thinking and they will coordinate with my musical needs. This is why that during my later songs, such as ‘Big Yellow Door’, ‘Be True’ and ‘Always Able To See Angels’, you can hear my inner thoughts and feelings in the lyrics of the songs.”

EARNED SELFLESS SUPPORT

When an artiste achieves success, they will gain fame and fortune, but they may lose their freedom and never be able to live a normal life again. To Joey, fame and fortune is something that she doesn’t have much desire for and after 10 years, the thing that makes her most happy is gaining the selfless support from a bunch of friends in the industry and her fans.

“I’m most happy about getting to know this bunch of friends. I am a person that will protect myself, so there was one occasion that I observed a person for a long time before I decided whether I would open my heart to them. Another thing that makes me most happy is getting the support from my fans. When I examine myself, I reach the conclusion that I’m not a person who has contributed a lot, and all I have done is turn what I am interested in doing into a profession and singing some good songs to entertain people. For everyone to be willing to make an effort to support me and discover my good points, it is extremely hard to come by!”

REGARDING WHAT SHE HAS LOST, JOEY RECKONS IT IS TIME SPENT WITH HER FAMILY

“In these 10 years, I leave the house early every morning and return late at night. Each year, I only have 8-10 days holiday. I am lucky that I am still living with my mum, so we get to see each other at least once a day. If I was to really talk about sacrifice, I would think of not being able to walk the streets of Mongkok or browse the boutiques in small shopping malls!”

THE PRESENT – THE REAL ME HAS APPEARED AGAIN

After 10 years, there have been many changes. Currently, Joey Yung is already the ‘no.1 sister’ of EEG and is a queen of pop. The success she has achieved in her career has made her more mature, and it has given her the courage to show her real self to people.

“To a certain degree, the present me is brave enough to take a step forward and walk along my own path, but I still require the protection, support and opinion from my company, and I am still a little flower in my company’s greenhouse. I am practical person, so when people started liking me, many years ago, and I became more and more popular, this did not lead to me getting a ‘floating in the air’ feeling. On the contrary, it made me a bit scared because I was worried that this support wouldn’t last, and during the early years, I did receive some negative news in the media. This is why each thing I said or do had to be done very carefully, and sometimes I was maybe too careful, which caused me to live uneasily and not be myself. The current me is more relaxed, and I’m no longer scared of saying the wrong thing. Everyone has seen me grow up, so they know what kind of person I am.”

AWARDS ARE ONLY A COMMENDATION

Another thing that Joey is more relaxed about is how she views music awards.

“I still want to win awards, but I have understood that they are only a commendation and they will not affect how everyone will view me. However, what awards will affect is my behaviour. If I were to win an award which I don’t deserve to win, everyone will feel that I am not worthy, so that is why the most important way to start is to sing as well as you can and try hard to improve your music. A few years ago, I deliberately tried to change myself, but now, what I actually think is most important is to do my best in terms of my music and not change just for the sake of changing. As you gradually grow up, even if it is the same song, the feeling, charm and the method of expression changes.”

As the no.1 sister of the company, she has seen the arrival of Twins, Vincy, Sherman, William and others, over the years, and if Joey is able to, she will help them out.

“All I am is a sister who has a little bit more experience than they do! I do not firmly believe that my way of doing things is the best way, and I do not force them to do it my way, since each artiste is independent and unique.” When discussing about Sherman Chung, who became very popular due to her song ‘Letter For Myself’, Joey praised her for having a unique style. Joey also feels that it is rare to be able to sing a good song, so Sherman deserves everyone’s attention.

THE FUTURE – REDUCED OUTPUT IN 10 YEARS

On June this year, Joey will become 30 years old, so she will be 40 years old in 10 years time.

“In 10 years time, I want the future me to want to seek happiness even more, and maybe my life at that time will be a complete turnaround to how it is right now. I want to be able to live a more ordinary life, to buy a piece of land to do some farming, to visit other countries to see how others live, and to learn more foreign languages. Basically, I want to be able to put aside more time for myself and my family.”

40 YEAR OLD POP QUEEN – BELIEVES SHE WILL NOT BE ACTIVE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

“I don’t want to stop singing! From very early on, I viewed singing as a lifelong career, but in 10 years time, I will probably reduce my music output. I am not good at speaking, so singing is my best way of conveying my feelings. As well as this, singing also lets me communicate with my fans. Also, I can release a new album any time I like, so there are many good points! I will not announce I won’t accept awards any more, and I won’t say I won’t sing any more. Announcing these kinds of things does me no good.”

LOVE – WILL LET FATE DECIDE

After 10 years in the industry, the only love affair that everyone knows about which involves Joey is the one with Meter Chen, which happened in another country. Unfortunately, it ended with them breaking up.

“Two people need to take their steps together, or else they should not waste their time. After breaking up with Meter, I have not dated anyone else. However, this is not because I have not met someone who I have feelings for, but it is because I did not develop the relationship further. Emotions involve both persons in the relationship, and it requires both persons to be certain about their feelings, which isn’t easy. Even if I wanted to develop a relationship further, my working hours prevent me from doing so. However, I believe I will be a person who will achieve happiness, and whether this is true will depend on fate.”

Don’t think that because she is the queen of pop she will not make the first move. Joey said that as long as she meets a person she has fallen in love with, she will not mind making the first move, and she will give everything into the relationship.

“I am a person who doesn’t know how to hide their feelings. It is just that at present, there is not a person that has made me want to express my feelings. Even though working in this industry has made it difficult to make new friends, I’m not in a hurry to start dating, and I will quietly wait for my fate to arrive. The person I’ll fall for in the future might even be a plumber who will be coming to unblock my drains!”

MY MATE NEEDS TO BE TALENTED

To be appreciated by Joey, it is not difficult. All you need to be is talented, mature, attentive and be able to chat with Joey on the phone.

“It can be any type of talent. As long as they have invested a lot of time and effort into their job, I will admire them. If the person is a plumber who has achieved a lot in unblocking drains, I will still like them! I’m most scared of people who don’t have a direction and don’t achieve anything! Handsome guys? They are hard to find, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As long as the person is someone you love, you can still see the good in them, even if the person is ugly.”

TO MAINTAIN VOICE, DRINK TONICS LIKE WATER

After starting her singing career in 1999, problems started developing with Joey’s vocal chords in 2001. This forced her to stop working for half a year so she could recover. After her recovery, her career has been plain sailing. Due to this, each time one of her singer friends encounters a similar problem, they will ask Joey for tips on how to maintain their voice.

“It is like I have become a spokesperson for the voice. When someone has a problem with their voice, they will come to see me. Maybe everyone thinks I have lots of secret formulas for maintaining the voice! In actual fact, the tonics I drink to maintain my voice includes sek hup (石合) & siraitia grosvenori (羅漢果) water, apple & Chinese pear water, fig & white fungus soup and other drinks. All the tonics are made every day by my mum, so I drink them like water.”

WEARING NEW UNDERWEAR DURING CHINESE NEW YEAR

During this New Year, Joey followed the advice of a wise person by not travelling abroad, so she stayed in Hong Kong to accompany her mum during the Chinese New Year period.

“My wish for this New Year is for my work to go smoothly, and spend each day being happy. Actually, it’s been 7 or 8 years since I was in Hong Kong during Chinese New Year, so I’m especially excited this year. I will also get together with some friends to have a celebration party. My mum has already decorated the house and put up some New Year scrolls. In addition, some orchids and daffodils have been put on display, and I have put out a New Year candy case.” When talking about the New Year traditions that occur in the Yung household, Joey laughed and said: “On the first day of the New Year, we’re not allowed to wash our hair, but I ignore this every year and nothing bad has happened, so no problem! Also, each year on the same day, I will wear new underwear because it means that there will be a new start in the New Year.”

Joey usually spends her New Year outside of Hong Kong, and her most memorable New Year event also happened abroad. She remembered that there was one year in which she had just completed her concert, so she decided to spend a few days in Japan for a vacation. However, as soon as she arrived in Japan, she became ill, which may have been due to her over-exerting herself during the concert. Joey said: “At that time, I was so ill that I had no strength in my body and I had lost my voice. I was living in a small Japanese village so I couldn’t find a doctor. I then thought that I shouldn’t waste the vacation, so I didn’t care about my illness and I forced myself to go out to enjoy myself every day. In the end, I got better without having to take any medication, and I didn’t need to see a doctor when I arrived back in Hong Kong.”

EPILOGUE

I like Joey a little bit more in recent years, but I’m not talking about her songs or her performances on stage; I’m actually talking about her as a person. As she mentioned, the Joey from the past is a person who was careful on what she said in public, but the current Joey is more relaxed, and has become more real.

Ivy: Nice article here. Somehow I can relate myself to Joey on the part of being too secure of myself. I understand what she means when she's being too careful before talking and revealing something to people around her. I am that type of person too, which leads to people saying that I don't talk much! However, in actual fact, once I talk, I can't stop...hahaha...I guess most of this part of me is witnessed by my school classmates and people who have the same interests with me. Guess gotta learn to be less careful, HAHA, although I think it is still important to have a degree of discretion.

As to the part where Joey said she will not announce that she will not sing, I think she did test or probably learned that it really won't do any good to her if she were to announce retirement. Because I remember last year she did mention that she plans to only sing for 5 more years then retire from the industry which lead fans and the media on an emotional streak from her twitter, forum, entertainment news etc that she had to reply back on her Twitter, "Don't have such a big reaction, we still don't know where the future would lead to, wait till the time comes." I personally would respect her decisions. Its not easy to be in the industry and Joey deserves some rest. Maybe her current decision to take it easy like how Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Sandy Lam etc is doing is a good idea.

Talking back about me, I have to go back to KL this Friday!!! Feel like crying!! Why does time flies in super speed for me!!!??? I felt like its just a blink of an eye! Didn't really done anything this holiday and suddenly it has ended! And I just viewed my timetable, not liking it much...I have a 5 hour break in between on Tuesdays!! Well, probably could dedicate it to update blog every week..hahaha. However, I am looking forward for April to come^^ Hope it will be an eventful one!

Raymond Lam & Charlene Choi a bickering pair, Raymond strikes at Ah Sa's chest area

Yesterday Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), Raymond Lam, Kenny Kwan, Wong Cho Lam, Ken Hung, Christine Kuo, Kathy Tong, Steven Cheung, Katy Kung, Jessie Shum and Di Lung attended the blessing ceremony for new film a co-production between Shaw Brothers film production company and EEG.

Ah Sa reveals that she'll be playing as a bickering couple with Raymond Lam. In reality, she and Raymond are always revengeful too, just like a few days ago when the two were shooting for a snatching jade scene. The scene talked about Raymond going forward and violently tried to snatch Ah Sa's jade, the director requested that Raymond snatch with his hand near her chest area, but because Raymond had a large palm, he implied that Ah Sa was flat chested, making her jump in anger, she said: "Sometimes he's so bad, always making fun of me. A real bad boy! (Shooting with Raymond are there any sparks?) I need to think of something to prank him back with, I can withstand his electricity."

As for Raymond, he said that Ah Sa is really fun to play with, he said: "I said she's flat chested? Just playing, Ah Sa is fun to play with. This is a comedy, most of the cast are very funny people, making a light happy atmosphere. I really thank them because I'm also shooting for another modern film, I haven't slept for a few days, so with them laughing a bit around me, I'm not as sleepy."

Additionally, this is the first time MCI Christine Kuo is taking part in a film, she'll be playing as the Princess this time. She highly praised that her senior Di Lung has an easygoing personality, willing to advise the newcomers.

Ivy: Where's Joey?? I think she didn't go for the costume tryout...if not mistaken, she's in Beijing...Now I really think that her role may be a guest role...because I doubt she has much time to act since she got 2 Starlight concerts in Australia next month!

The costume looks like the funny type of costume...not the pretty type of ancient dressing that I expected. Raymond's hat reminds me of a Malay 'songkok'...=.="(not a compliment). HAHA... And turns out its a comedy...I would prefer it to be a romantic comedy or something like that. Poor Raymond, having to act in 2 movies at the same time! One with Miriam and another with Charlene! LOL.. Ray is caught between two loves..LOL! Hope he could get more rest!!

Joey to give red packets to thank fans

February 3rd 2010

To thank her fans, Joey promised to give lai see to fans who have bought her EP

Joey prepares mystery Lai See for fans

10 years have passed since HK diva Joey Yung debuted. In the recently released limited edition EP boxset, she has looked for old stuff like old photos for the photo booklet, made some cute USBs, resulting in a frenzy from fans. 5 days after its release, it's selling at more than twice its original price. Joey is so touched she says that she wants to give out lai see to thank her fans!

To commemorate her 10th anniversary, Joey has put in lots of thought into preparing her EP. On the day of its release, sales have already reached platinum records. Together with the fact that the boxset has other memorabilia included, there's a black market forming. Besides it being sold at increasingly higher prices, even the shops are selling it at higher prices. As of yesterday, a shop in Causeway Bay is selling it at $1288.

Fans using it as a present

Joey is happy that fans' reaction is warm. She said, "The normal EP has 9 different styles for cover, making fans scrambling to collect all of them. We thought that it would be better that all 9 were released, but now there's still a black market selling it at twice the price. There are fans wanting to buy it to give it to others as presents during the CNY."

PhotobucketPhotobucket
There are shops selling the originally $480 boxset for $1288.

To thank her fans for their support, she says she'll be giving out lai see. "If I meet any fans holding on to the boxset during the CNY period, I'll give him/her a lai see. Contents will be a mystery, and I'll only give out a limited number of the lai see, while stocks last! And only until the 7th day, People's Day."

There will not be a second version

When asked if she will release a second version of the EP, Joey said, "No. When the 2000 boxsets are sold out, that's the end. Too much resources were used to produce this 2000 boxsets. Also, if we were to release a second version now, it will be very unfair to those fans who bought this one at the inflated prices." She will be in Mainland during CNY, and only be back on the second day of the New Year.

Joey's limited boxset includes lots of extras, resulting in many fans wanting to get it.

Translation credits to Candycow @ http://www.joeygalaxy.com/

Ivy: Red packets??? Even if I take the boxset and walk on the streets I won't be able to get it. Haha. Because I don't live in Hong Kong. Besides, I will be in Japan during the Lunar New Year! Prices hiking up to $1288??? That's crazy!! Which suddenly make me feel my buy is a good buy. Looking forward to it!! Will make another review when I receive it! I'm glad there will not be a second version. Makes the EP more exclusive. And EEG, isn't 9 covers enough?? LOL. Its actually 10 covers including the Perfect Ten Boxset which was meant to be part of it.

Ivy: Turns out RTHK didn't bring any surprise to me. Rumours about RTHK wanting to help Eason snatch the Media Award from Joey stayed as it was, rumours. I guess RTHK has its reputation to stick to, "Fairest Award Ceremony of the Four". It is a national (government funded) station afterall unlike CRHK and Metro who are commercial radio stations.
Congratulations to Joey for getting the Media Award again after a lapse of 5 years! With RTHK ceremony, it also means that its the start of a brand new year! I feel that the awards given out were quite reasonable...however Kate geting Gold newcomer?? Hmm....I just finished watching 'Beauty of the Game' with Kate in it. And it made me ponder a lot......on Sharon Chan instead...LOL. I like Sharon more after watching the series...hehe...although she is kinda a villain in the series. I hope Sharon could win an award soon for her acting.
Back to Joey...LOL. Previously I talked about the Perfect Ten Boxset, now I'm waiting for another boxset...The limited edition 2,000 copies Joey Ten Boxset! Probably do a review of it too when I get hold of it! Goodnight for now!

[17 Jan 10] Joey Wins 7 Awards To Break Record

Source: The Sun
Translated by Rsung at http://joeygalaxy.com/

Due to the disagreement over royalty fees between TVB and the four music companies from HKRIA, TVB shut out the four music companies at its annual music award ceremony, leading to the affected singers not winning any awards. In recent days, TVB has been getting a headache at trying to come up with the award winners list, and the results show that EEG became the big winner on the night with 19 awards. Joey Yung won seven awards on the night, which included the ‘Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Female Singer’ award, ‘Golden Song Gold Award’, ‘Most Popular Commercial Song’ award, ‘Most Popular Mandarin Song’ silver award, ‘Most Popular Cover Version Song’ silver award, and she also won a top 10 song award for ‘In Search of the Deity’ and ‘Deeply Moving’. This breaks the previous record of winning 5 awards at one award ceremony, set by Alan Tam and Joey, which makes Joey the singer who has won the most TVB music awards in history, and she now looks likely to win the four-station media award. As for Leo Ku, he won the ‘Most Popular Male Singer’ award for the second time in a row, but what actually happened was that TVB rearranged some of the award winners before the show, and Joey was negatively-affected.

Yesterday, this newspaper made public the fact that TVB’s ‘adopted son’, Hacken Lee, was going to be one of the ‘survivors’ of the royalty fee dispute and he was set to win the ‘Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer’ award. However, just before the award ceremony started, one of the TVB management stated that if a singer doesn’t attend the award ceremony, he or she will not win an award, and Hacken was in China yesterday to hold a concert. Furthermore, because TVB didn’t want any of the four main music company singers to win an award, TVB’s ‘adopted son’ lost to TVB’s ‘biological son’, Raymond Lam, who was awarded the ‘Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer’ award instead. To avoid making it look as though EEG was winning all the awards, the ‘Most Popular Female Singer’ award from given to Miriam Yeung instead of Joey, and Joey was recompensed by being awarded two top 10 song awards.

At the moment that Raymond Lam, who has only been a singer for 3 years, was announced to be the winner of the ‘Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer’ award, he became excited and slightly tearful, and he continuously thanked TVB for their ‘deep affection’: “I’ve been at TVB for 11 years, and everything I have has been given by TVB, TVB has nurtured me, this award….thanks to everyone in the audience, I’m approaching my thirties, I don’t know what to say, I’m grateful to Miss Lok and Tai Gor.” In the end, Joey became the big winner by being awarded the ‘Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Female Singer’ award and the ‘Golden Song Gold Award’, and she excitedly said: “I thank you all for watching me grow up, I really did not think that after being in the industry for ten years, I could achieve this good result to commemorate it.” During her performance, Joey also couldn’t hold back the tears.

It is believed that Joey was going to follow Faye Wong’s footsteps by winning both the ‘Most Popular Female Singer’ and ‘Asia Most Popular Female Singer’ award at the same time, but because Joey, who had 3 nominated songs in the best commercial song category, had already won a commercial song gold award and a couple of other silver awards, TVB didn’t want it to look as though all the awards were given to Joey, so at the last minute they gave the ‘Most Popular Female Singer’ award to Miriam instead, which is the second year in a row she has won it. Furthermore, there was originally going to be a gold, silver and bronze award in the ‘Most Popular Commercial Song’ category, but this was changed to only one award, so it looks as though Joey lost two awards in total. Apart from Raymond Lam, other singers who are regarded as ‘TVB’s children’, such as Myolie Wu, Linda Chung, Kate Tsui, Julian Cheung and Pong Nam, also won awards. Sherman Chung and Charlene Choi both won a top 10 song award for ‘Letter For Myself’ and ‘Two Minus One’ respectively, and Charlene also won a ‘2009 Outstanding Performance’ silver award.

Due to the four main music companies being shut out, many singers, such as Eason Chan and Hacken Lee, did not attend, so not many stars were at the award ceremony and it looked more like a newcomer parade. Even the host, Eric Tsang, stopped his usual joking for a moment to sigh and say: “The music industry and the music companies are in a close partnership, no matter whether the coming days of the music industry is good or bad, everyone needs to work together to create both good music and a good tomorrow. Tonight, how many singers are actually participating!?”

A prank was played on TVB when music group Tai Chi appeared as special guests to announce the winner of the ‘Most Popular Group’ award, and they deliberately announced Mr., who belong to Universal, and then they corrected themselves by saying the winner was actually RubberBand. When RubberBand picked up the award, they said it was unexpected, but Eric Tsang made fun of them by saying ‘It’s not unexpected.” During the start of the award ceremony, trailer clips were played and they actually contained Eason Chan and Hacken Lee. When Miriam was on stage to pick up her award for the ‘Most Popular Female Singer’ award, she noticed that many of her fellow singers from the four main music companies were not present, so she said: “The singers I don’t see today I will see them next year, each thing we go through is a learning experience from which we will improve, and this problem we have can be solved.” As to the current frontrunners for the ‘Four-Station Media Award’, Joey Yung has won 14 awards to overtake Eason who has 11 awards, so she looks likely to win the big award. Out of the singers from the four main music companies who were absent from the award ceremony, Eason Chan and Jason Chan appeared at some functions today, and Kay Tse held an autograph session for her new album, so they continue to make TVB lose face.

Ivy: Just as I said yesterday, about Joey's commercial song part...HAHAHA...It was pretty obvious actually. If they were to give 3 Commercial song awards, Joey will be winning 10 awards which will not be a good sight. Nevermind, I consider Joey winning another 1 or 2 commercial songs already...HAHAHA.

And on the Four-Station Awards....Hmmm...what are the odds that Eason can win four awards more than Joey at RTHK awards ceremony? Unless RTHK decides to surrender all Joey's awards to Eason that night. Anyway, let's not speculate and wait for January 30th. I of course hope Joey could take it (I'm an Eason fan too). She hasn't got the Four Station Media award by herself (she got it with Twins in one of the years) since 2003 if I'm not mistaken.

And also Perfect Ten Live Boxset review...haven't done that yet! Will get it done and posted up soon!

Ivy : Wooooow to Joey and Raymond......and also to EEG........HAHAHAHA.............I was surprised or perhaps half surprised with this year's award results. A total of 20 awards from EEG artistes, 7 from Joey, 3 from Leo, 2 and half from Raymond, 2 each from Charlene and Sherman, 1 each from William Chan and Vincy and half from Hoi Ming Wai.

First thing, it was obvious with the disputes between HKRIA and TVB, singers from the four big stations will not be attending and also will not win any awards. Thus, I will not think of the award with them included in it. I'm sure there will be big fans rage over this issue and also with Miriam winning most popular singer again this year and not Joey. But I choose to stay out of this as I'm really very happy with Joey's results already. 7 awards in one ceremony is already another record. However, if Joey's performance maintains this year, and TVB repeats this the 3rd time, I'm sure people will not stay quiet anymore. They shouldn't let a record hold back another singer's deserving award! So what if Joey breaks Anita Mui's record?? I'm sure Anita in heaven will bless whoever who deserves an award and will not want her passing to hold back any talents in the music industry!

Oh, I think I haven't say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! to Joey!!!! HAHAHA...too carried away with the other hot^^ stuffs from the award. Joey practically sang all of her hit songs that night...LOL. In my joking opinion, Joey should win 10 awards instead of 7...hahaha...let me rationalise this. In all the previous years, there are 3 commercial song award (Gold, Silver, Bronze). Out of the five final nominations, three of Joey's songs is in it. Thus, if she swept all 3 awards, that will leave Joey with 9 awards. So the final one, the deserving most popular female singer award...Wala~~10 awards....hahaha...that will really be a PERFECT TEN then! However, TVB decided to only give 1 commercial song award this year. Hey, come to think of it, that's probably the reason why they didn't want to make it 3 this year. HAHAHA....

Next, Raymond!! The look on Raymond's face when he won the Asia Singer Award! HAHAHA...he was so dumbfounded, shocked, surprised, stuttering, tearing!!!!! HAHAHA.....I could replay that scene again and again..LOL!!! Anyhow, I'm a little surprised with his win...this award is what most singers aim to get...even Joey only managed to get it after 9 years in the industry. I will not say Raymond does not deserve it and only got it because Eason is not around. Raymond is indeed famous in Asia. However, the award is a little early for him. Nevertheless, CONGRATULATIONS to Raymond!!!!

3 ceremonies passed, now left with RTHK awards which will be held on 30th January also showing on Astro Wah Lai Toi live 7.30pm!! Looking forward to it! All The Best to Joey!!

P.S before i forget!!! I'm happy with Sherman's win!!! A letter to myself is one of my favourite songs last year!!! YEAH! Congrats!

Kenix Kwok gives birth to 7.2 pound baby girl

Kenix Kwok gives birth to 7.2 pound baby girl

Yesterday, 39 year old TVB fadan Kenix Kwok gave birth to a baby girl. Although, she was due a month early than the expected date, Kenix's baby girl weighed 7.2 pounds. Her husband Frankie Lam sent a SMS to the Media announcing to the world that he just became a father, he expressed that both mother and daughter are safe. Kenix, Frankie and their new baby daughter (her name has not been decided yet) expressed their appreciation for everybody's concern. It was said that the baby looks extremely cute and had a healthy development.

Ivy: Still feeling really sleepy~ Just got back from KL yesterday...anyway, Yay!! Very happy for Kenix! Kenix is one of the actress that I like and miss a lot during the period she left TVB. She's also one of the first ever TVB actress that I've met in my life together with Frankie. Haha. Kenix really kept herself well...she look really pretty and fit in the picture above! Once again, Congratulations to Kenix and Frankie!! Looking forward to know what will be their daughter's name!! Hehe.

P.S. Received my Joey Perfect Ten Live Boxset yesterday! Will post some pics of it later! Haven't had the time to watch the concert and documentary yet. Will watch it this weekend.

Joey Contributing Million Dollars to Repay Fans

Photobucket

Ten years in the industry, Joey decides to establish a scholarship fund to reward fans with good academic results

Source: Oriental Daily

8th January 2009

Song King, Leo Ku and Queen of Pop, Joey Yung both won the 'Ten Years Most well-received by Youths' male and female singer award respectively. Leo and Joey were very thankful and happy. Joey rewards her fans with hardwork and also financially when she disclosed that she will invest a million dollars into her fanclub to establish an education fund to encourage students who excel in their studies.

Joey and Leo have many songs that are very popular among the youths throughout their career in the music industry. Besides both of them taking home the ten years well-received singer award presented by uChannel, Ah Sa(Charlene) also received the 'Ten Years healthy image singer' award.

When Joey received the award, she was very happy. She said, "I've been in the industry for ten years, and receiving a Ten-years award is a very good encouragement to me. This award is voted by youths, therefore I am specially happy getting it." Joey also disclosed that she will establish an education fund for fans. She said, "I will be establishing an education fund to encourage students excelling in their studies. Further details are still on the planning." (how much will the fund involve?) "I'm estimating seven figures."

Leo Ku was also happy for getting the award. "As a public figure, one have to put extra care in their actions and behaviour. We must also be a responsible person." As 'Ku Sir' he has to be a role-model. Leo said, "Being their role-model, I will continue learning." Whereas Charlene who has high expectations from herself, said that she takes the award as an encouragement.

Besides that, Joey also won the 'Country's Most Respectable Female Singer', 'Most Respectable Mandarin Music Award' and 'Country's most respectable top ten song' for 'Sau San Gei'(In search of deities) at the Canada Hit Chinese Billboard awards. Charlene also won a top ten song award for 'yi kuet yat'(two missing one). Vincy Chan and Hoi Ming Wai also grabbed a top ten song award for 'ngoh dik wooi yik bat si ngoh dik'(my memory is not mine). Truly a sign of breaking through international borders.

If reposted please give due credit. Thanks.

Ivy: I translated this because I can't find translations anywhere else yet and also because I feel that its really very nice of Joey to actually establish a fund for her fans. Its a very good message to her fans as she reminds them that studies is very important and giving her fans the chance to 'be a fan' and at the same time go on the right track towards their future path (if you know that I mean). Besides, thinking in Joey's side, I think its a good way of public service where you can be almost sure that the receiver will appreciate it and the meaning behind it will be much more meaningful than her donating to any other funds outside. I wonder how will the fund work? Hehehe...have to wait to find out what are Joey's plans...hehehe...

Joey Thank Fans For Their Care

Photobucket

Joey expressed that she is satisfied with the Chik Chak award results and she reckons that some fans are over-reacting.

Source: On.CC

4th January 2010

When Joey Yung was giving a radio interview, it was mentioned that some fans weren’t very happy about the recent Chik Chak award results and they have been fiercely voicing their displeasure on the Internet. Joey replied to this by saying: “Aiya, forget about it, it’s in the past. Actually, I’m quite satisfied with the result, and I’m grateful for the care that everyone has shown to me. (Some fans might be going to the ICAC?) That’s a bit over the top. Maybe the fans are too engrossed in the matter, and as they become more engrossed, the more that will come into their minds.”

Ivy: Honestly, when I knew the results, I wasn't really happy too because I thought a top ten song for Joey was guaranteed. Come to think of it, Joey's 'Sau San Gei' was nominated under the top 5 most favourite song, but did not win an award for top ten song. Which kind of don't make sense. However, fortunately Joey did not went home empty handed and got a Gold Female Singer award which is her 3rd conseutive win and 5th Gold in 10 years beating Faye Wong and Sandy Lam's record. Congratulations to Joey!!

In addition, I think fans should not over-react up to the point of reporting to ICAC which I think is too overboard and will not make Joey happy instead the other way round! At this stage of her singing career, I believe awards are not Joey's main target anymore. She does not need an award to prove that she can sing. An award is instead a bonus to her, and quality instead of quantity is more important. Instead, having more freedom to choose her singing style and path in the following years of her career should be her main focus.

Charmaine Sheh is well known for being very endurant for hard work, but never thought she would go without any sleep for 100 hours due to her workload. Her record of lack of sleep surprises everyone. Charmaine disclosed that she loves eating durian and steam crab, and in her handbag, she always carries sweets to keep her happy. She had an interview with a reporter the other day.

Reporter: What do you usually bring with you when you go out everyday?

Charmaine: I must have my cell phone, sweets and lipstick. Although I don't really like to eat sweet, I have one now and again to keep me happy.

Reporter: Which part of your body you focus most?

Chartmaine: My hands for sure. This is because one can look at your hands to know your age. That is why I never washed any dishes since I was little, even though my mom offered me 200 dollars, I wouldn't do it.

Reporter: what other languages would you like to learn?

Charmaine: Japanese, because I love shopping in Japan. If I know the language, I can bargain and I can even ask for direction.

Reporter: When you look at someone, which part of the body do you pay attention to?

Charmaine: The eyes, I can tell if that person is telling the truth by looking into his eyes.

Reporter: What type of person annoys you most?

Charmaine: I hate irresponsible person. This type of person looks like a tiger, but acts like a snake, severely affect the progress of work, other people have to finish off for him.

Reporter: What is your favorite drink?

Charmaine: Pearl tea, best added with plumule.

Reporter: What is your favorite food?

Charmaine: Durian and steam crab, even though my skin is sensitive to that, I still eat them.

Reporter: What food do you hate most?

Charmaine: Golden Beef Roll. I ate that in a Japanese restaurant with my mummy when I was little. I was full, but there were 8 left, my mummy asked me to help finish eating them. I did, but I was sick afterwards as I ate so much. After that, I never ate Golden Beef Roll.

Reporter: What is your longest record for not sleeping?

Charmiane: Four years ago, I was in the mainland working on "Under the Qianlong South", I didn't sleep for 5 days 4 nights. I was working till I lost my soul, and I could actually sleep standing up. On the third day, I was paralysed and didn't know what I was doing.

Reporter: Who do you respect most?

Charmaine:My form teacher when I was in primary 6. My maths was very bad, but the teacher coached me after school. I visited him this year, he is 80 years old but still looked very fit and healthy.

Ivy: I realise that Charmaine is becoming more and more straighforward in replying to questions now. I guess its a sign of establishment in her acting career where you don't really mind what people say or see you as anymore but just focus on acting well and giving out full performance to the audience.

Charmaine not wanting to wash dishes??? LOL....she has to find a husband that is willing to wash all the dishes for her then. LOL. Or perhaps have to hire a maid to do that. I guess as fans, Charmaine not sleeping for days is not a new knowlegde to us. Her hardwork in the past paid out when she won the best actress award in 2006. That's why now Charmaine take long breaks and also film less drama series if you realise. Hehe.

And Charmaine loves durians haha...something Malaysian fans can help her with the next time she comes^^

Talking about not enough sleep, its late now so I better go to sleep~~

Joey Wears Flat Shoes to Increase Her Luck in Love

Translation credits to Rsung at JoeyGalaxy

Joey wearing flat shoes attracted a few guys towards her, so she immediately said there are many advantages to wearing flat shoes

Joey Yung, Leo Ku, Charlene Choi, Sherman Chung, William Chan, Raymond Lam, Vincy Chan and Nick Cheung attended the ‘7th Yahoo Asia Buzz Awards 2009', and artistes from EEG won 11 awards to become the big winner on the night!

Joey won the award for the ‘Most Searched Hong Kong Female Singer’ and the ‘Top 10 Most Searched Song’, and she wore flat shoes, which was a refreshing change! Even Raymond Lam and Nick Cheung approached her to talk about it and Charlene praised Joey for looking very lovable. This caused Joey to feel excited: "I’ve just realised that high-heel shoes can be a hindrance, so I’ve now found a new direction to go in." She also mentioned that around 99% of her shoes at home are high-heel shoes, but since she is now receiving positive comments about wearing flat shoes, Joey will wear them more often in the future. She also said that wearing flat shoes has many benefits: "I don’t need to use as much strength, it won’t cause any pain and it’s good for my knees. It’s like my knees have disappeared and I now need to see the doctor, take medication and tonics to mend the cartilage." When asked whether wearing flat shoes has helped to attract more men, Joey joked that guys were now rushing to her like they were fired in her direction.

*watch* News Clip of Joey's respond:

Ivy: Joey is super hillarious with her remark in the clip...LOL. And the reporters are smart in their questions too. LOL.. That's what I realise from OnCC reporters. Joey's remark that Raymond Lam is 'gou dai wai mang' (tall, well built and masculine) and Nick Cheung as 'ying chun siu sa' (stylish and manly) really made mePhotobucket

Joey posted that clip up on her Facebook too earlier today and said she likes this type of 'mou liu' news. Hahaha....mou liu in the sense that she made it up herself..LOL. EEG people especially Joey and Charlene love to tease Raymond's killer eyes. LOL. Poor guy. Haha.

On the other hand, its good news that Joey finally decides to stop wearing heels while her cartilage are recovering. Finally she realise the severity of having the possibility of spending the rest of her life on a wheelchair if she continue wearing heels and dancing at the same time. Get well soon Joey!

And look at this picture taken with SS501 and Vincy. Joey really looks shorter than usual..haha. But I feel she looks more younger and girlish too without heels!

Concert Tickets Sold Out In 10 Minutes, Joey Warns Fans to be Aware of Fake Tickets

Date: 4th September 2009
Source: HK Headline

Joey Yung recently announced her forthcoming tenth anniversary concert will be held at 4th October 2009 for two shows. Yesterday, after ticket launch, the tickets were sold out within ten minutes. Besides feeling happy, Joey also warned fans who did not manage to obtain a ticket to be careful of fake tickets.

Joey Yung will be holding her two concert shows (Joey Yung Perfect Ten Live 2009) at Hong Kong Cultural Centre and tickets were sold out in less than 10 minutes showing her status as Queen Of Cantopop. No wonder her company is willing to spend few million dollars on her.

EEG received many phone calls from fans as to whether Joey will add more shows to her concert. But because of the venue of the concert, the chances of adding more shows is slim. EEG explained that the reason Hong Kong Cultural Centre was choosen is because the place is very meaningful to Joey. Joey won a karaoke competition there at the age of 15 which was her first step into entering the music industry, thus it is the most suitable venue for the concert.

When Joey heard about the sold out tickets in ten minutes, she was shocked. But she was worried that fans who did not manage to get a ticket will be conned by fake tickets. Joey said, "I hope that you all will celebrate my ten years together with me, so please do not mark up the tickets. I also want to warn my fans to be careful when someone is selling the tickets, as I'm afraid it may be a con."

If Reposted Please Give Due Credit.

Ivy : I decided to post this because I felt the news was just....hmm..what's the word?? LOL. I didn't expect this. At least maybe sold out in a day or something like..but not less than 10 minutes!! According to Joey fans, the ticket got sold out in about 7 minutes. Hahaha. And they were even camping outside the ticket hub...OMG. Hahaha. Joey's in Shanghai when the ticket was launched. I guess she's really shocked with it. Haha. She was just posting on Twitter few days ago that she'll try to negotiate with her company to get special fans ticket, but I guess she didn't suceed. Haha. Now its sold out! And FYI, the concert will be held on the same day! Meaning that Joey will perform twice, one show at 3pm and another one at 8pm. Wow, really sanfu her...singing non stop. Hahaha. Anyway, hope she will have a good time with the concert and enjoy her 10th anniversary celebration to the max!!!
