It is coming to the end of the year and the beginning of a new year. So it is time for us to look at the summary of what TVB has offered us for the whole year which kept us glued to the TV screen the whole day and would rather skip our meals than move a feet away from the TV set OR left us off the tv screen with dramas that you wouldn't even bother exists. Here I present you the top 10 TVB drama serials of 2007.

The Big Winner of 2007:

Taking the No. 1 spot is The Family Link. Starring Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Cecilia Yip, Michael Tse. Averaging with 32.4 points and peaking with 42 points.

No.2 Fathers and Sons. Starring Bobby Au Yeung, Yoyo Mung, Ha Yu, Tavia Yeung and Wong Hei. Averaging with 32.3 points and peaking with 39 points.

Ivy's thoughts: I was surprised at first as The Family Link took the No.1 spot of 2007. I was expecting Heart of Greed to take the place but instead it came in 3rd. I think the whole plot of the "housewifes" really suits the Hong Kong audience as housewifes and children are mainly the people who watches drama serials in Hong Kong. The whole "family" theme suits them best and this is exactly what the series is about! The ups and downs of family matters. That is why if you are aware the no.2 and no.3 spot also went to series which run around "family affairs". Fathers and Sons (the title tells all) and Heart of Greed (greed over wealth between a family).

Ten Brothers was the series which I skipped in 2007 so theres not much I could talk about it. I was put-offed by the plot of the series about 10 magical brothers. I think the main selling point of the series is the collaberation between husband and wife: Kenix and Frankie. After family what comes next? Society. That is what HK audience look at next based on the position of the following series: On The First Beat, Green Grass of Home and Steps. These series' main plot is more towards the society than to family matters. OTFB(police force and security), GGOH(health & environment) and Steps(health & exercise).

The third point HK audience look at is Meaningful and Worth-Watching-Series. Taking 8th place after Steps is The Drive Of Life followed by War and Destiny and Men Don't Cry. The Drive of Life is one of the most worth watching series of 2007 and also meaningful. How often are you able to watch a 60 episode colaboration drama series with such a huge cast from HK and China? Besides that the series is meaningful to HK residence as it talks about the 1997 handover. War and Destiny is another meaningful series to Chinese as it revolves around the China-Japan War. I am yet to watch Men Don't Cry so nothing to say.

Life Art as the lowest rated series of 2007? Don't let the poster fool you! It may be the lowest rated series but the highest rated poster of 2007! The poster looks really great but too bad the series really is...I gave up halfway watching it. It isn't Gigi or Kevin's acting but just something about the series make you off your TV set straight away. It is such a waste of cast as Gigi and Kevin is among my favourites too. So what do you think of the ratings of 2007 dramas? Which is your favourite drama of the year?

Charmaine's Latest Blog Entry: Do you like my hairstyle?

Charmaine: To shoot for the coming year's calender the hairstylist in charge helped to design this hairstyle specially for me. Is it nice?

The whole shooting process was very suffering. I feel that the hardest part is I have to curve my back non-stop to pose for the shoot. And it is really hard and tiring.

But after looking at the shooting result which came out great, whatever hardship was worth it.

Honestly I don't really fancy Charmaine's hair and make up here. Luckily the China Doll hairstyle is only for the photoshoot and not her real hairstyle. Her make up is also too heavy at the eye area. But then I understand for a photo shoot heavy make up is necessary. If not you don't stand out in the crowd. The result of Charmaine in the calender came out pretty good(picture below). The hair and make up came out well in the real thing. Pity her as she has a pretty hard pose for the calender and could you imagine posing like that for hours? I could imagine a terrible backache for days! But then once again Charmaine shows her proffesionalism

Forensic Heroes 2 casts celebrates Frankie Lam's Birthday

The casts of Forensic Heroes 2 celebrated Frankie Lam's birthday. Here are some pictures of the event. Frankie's cake is Olympic theme-ed...lol. They seem to be having a nice night. Frankie's birthday is on the 19th December(same as my bro). Happy Belated Birthday Frankie. He's 40 this year but he looks younger than his age. Many celebrities really surprise me with their age eg. Raymond Cho, Chiu Nga Zhi, Michael Miu, Michelle Yim, Annie Man....

They really age very well and also with style. Just like Michael Miu, very dashing and stylish for his age and not to mention still very good looking. Charmaine also does not look her age. To me she still looks like she's in her 20's. Here are more pictures of the event.

Raymond & Charmaine coming to Malaysia!!

Raymond Lam and Charmaine Sheh is coming to Malaysia in January. Although I don't think they are appearing together. Ray is here to promote his album and attend the Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards while Charmaine is here for a promotion event. Ray is coming on 24-26th January. Charmaine's schedule is not yet confirmed. I'll post updates on this when I have more information. More info will be released soon I'm sure. Stay tuned for more updates!

By the way I heard that Ray's album is selling for RM79. So people go get his album or you may consider getting it when he comes coz maybe there is an autograph session!

Raymond Lam: 爱在记忆中找你 Album

Hehe as I have mentioned I bought Raymond Lam's album during my trip to Hong Kong. Just explored the album and I think it is time to brag about it..hahaha. Best thing is first I got the cover I wanted!!(the picture above) The one thing weird is that the cover is made of cardboard but no matters as long as there's Ray's picture on it! On the backcover is as usual the list of tracks in the CD but the layout is more unique for Ray's album(below).

There's 10 tracks in total and all of the songs are great. Every track is very nice. If I were to pick a faavourite track I'll pick...hmmm..ALL!!haha. In the cover there is a booklet. The booklet is full of Ray's pictures featured from all 3 covers. Below are some of the pictures in the booklet.




Besides the booklet there is also a poster together with the music lyrics and also a bonus DVD containing two MV's from the song track 1 and track 3 of Ray's album(pictures below). No regrets buying the album and loving it more and more =) Gonna go listen to his songs now..lolz. By the way the 1st and 2nd track is on track 1 and 2 of my playlist. Please do not ask for download and get his album to show support!

Back from Hong Kong!!

I'm back to Malaysia!!! But I kinda miss Hong Kong especially the food and desserts! I managed to get Raymond Lam's album(currently listening) and got the cover I wanted too!! Funny thing is the first thing I saw on the TV of my hotel room on the first night was Charmaine's Afontane advertisement on the TVB Pearl Channel...lol. And the next day on the bus I saw the bus beside the bus I'm in was another Charmaine's Afontane advertisement..lolz.



I managed to eat HK's famous smelly toufu, curry fish ball, fried cuttle fish, egg tarts, coconut tarts and best of all the mango glutinous ball and mango desserts. Taste so good! Now I miss it...can't find in Malaysia. Also bought the Yuen Long famous Lou Phor Peng (wife biscuits). Didn't try it yet. Still in the box. Gonna grab one later. Besides eating also went for shopping. Shopped till my leg hurts when i walk..lol. Also went to HK Disneyland. Worth it to go during the Christmas period coz they have Christmas decorations and the fake snow(made from detergent like foam) which is pretty nice. And also the daily musical fireworks presentation. Another tourist spot where enjoyed going was The Avenue of The Stars. Saw handprints of all the famous artists and the view there is great.


Enough of my trip, now Charmaine won the Most Favourite Hong Kong actress at the QQ Entertainment Awards. So happy for her! Really deserve the award for her character as Wing Sau Fung. Her dress for the night is also very nice the red suits her. Raymond Lam also won the same award category for best actor. Congratulations to the both of them! Now I'm only waiting for the Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards 2007. Gonna post the voting procedures later so Malaysian residents please vote for Charmaine and support her. Also Charmaine's coming to Malaysia in January so I hope i get to see her this time!!

Yay! More news of Charmaine! She looks really lovely in the catalog! Her hair and dress suits her really well. Also happy for her as more endorsement = more $$. Besides that it is a China product which means more publicity for her in China. Helps to build up her market in Mainland. Heard from Sehseh Charmaine sponsors her own wardrobe for the catalog photoshoot. Wow nice dresses she has. GaoPeng's design looks good too. Love the ones where Charmaine wears in the black dress near the staircase.

Also heard from Sehseh Charmaine's going to attend QQ Entertainment Awards at Beijing next week together with Raymond Lam. She's heading to Beijing on coming Monday. Best of luck Charmaine! Hope she wins something.
